Came here and tried all three of the lobster rolls. The vibe is very casual. They do have an outdoor heated seated section which is pretty cool. The fried lobster roll was my least favorite. I feel like it should come with a sauce or something but the traditional and the hot buttered roll had great flavor, and it was perfect for the price range .

The hot buttered lobster roll was AMAZING!!!!!! It was toppling over with large chunks of lobster, the flavor was very fresh and it was served with a side of fries. We also got a small bowl of the clam chowder, which was also very hot and fresh! Wish I was a local, this would be my new lunch spot!

I called around to find places that sold Hot lobster rolls as this is my girlfriend's preference. We were more than satisfied with the hot butter lobster roll! There was plenty of lobster and it tasted great. The buttered roll was perfect as well. I ordered a small clam chowder too and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this location and both the hot buttered lobster roll and clam chowder. They have additional seating adjacent to the restaurant. No issues with the service either.

Hot buttered lobster roll is very good, comes with crispy fries and delicious buttery lobster overflowing out of toasted roll. Small eatery with just 6 tables and bar in main restaurant. Second seating area is bigger with 8+ tables. Ok: - fish and chips are average - lobster bisque is ok. Still can't beat Costco lobster bisque.

Friggin amazing place. Hearty, hefty rolls. Small place but they do have outside area when it is warm. I ordered and it was ready in 15 minutes and 20 minutes later my fries were still crisp and warm. Not overly caked with butter, light and fresh. I would recommend and return here every time I was in the Seaport district.

I had to try two things on my Boston visit; Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder. I am so glad I chose Yankee Lobster for the Lobster Roll. The place is reminiscent of a shack with really great food that people visited and it developed into a more permanent location. Orders are taken at a register and you seat yourself wherever a spot is open. It's tight quarters in the ordering space, but seating is available next door. I ordered the Hot Butter Roll and each bite nearly literally melted in my mouth. It was cold but the enclosed area was well heated, to the point that a small flock of little birds was trying to nest all over the area.

Great food. Its a bit pricey but they don't short you on the goods. Lobster roll is delish.

DO YOU SEE THE CHUNKS OF LOBSTER?! I have literally never had a roll stuffed like this before. So many claws and large chunks of meat. Typically I ignore the bread as the lobster is the but I will tell you their buttered roll was so good. My only wish is that it came with hot butter on the side because I needed it to be a bit more wet from the butter as some chunks became a bit dry. This is probably something you can ask for but we sat outside in the patio so wait staff wasn't too easy to access. We also shared a small clam chowder and it was thick and creamy with the perfect clam taste. I think both lobsters came to about $71. Very tiny inside but there is a heated patio that you access by leaving the store. I will definitely go back.

So glad we found this place. It was our first time there. The lobster roll was delicious! Everyone loved their food. Gets busy fast but the service was great.

Wicked awesome!! I am a seafood snob being raised in one of the largest fishing ports in the world ...New Bedford. When I say this place serves up fresh delicious seafood it is an understatement! I originally came in for a lobster roll but got swayed to try the fisherman's platter. OMG a large silver tray arrived with Fish, clams, shrimp, scallops and fries. It was enormous. Luckily I was sharing it or else I would have brought a huge doggie bag home. I wish I had taken a picture but I was too enthralled with consuming it. Well Like the Terminator states, "I'll Be Back" to get that lobster roll!!

Well I should have listened to the reviews that indicated that this place was less than what the positive reviews had indicated. I had to get a lobster roll as I was visiting Boston. Lobster in the roll was gummy and tastef like it was steamed earlier in the day or the day before. Only saving grace was that the fries were good. I should have listened to the guy at the hotel which said to go to Legal Seafood which is just down the street.

High prices for mediocre seafood!! Place is old and dirty too!! How's $75 for a pound of lobster meat sound?

Gotta hit this place in Boston if you like lobster rolls and fried clams. Super good.

I came here for a solo lobster roll lunch on a weekend. Surprisingly, I was the first customer, and the restaurant didn't have many more customers during the time I was there (~11:00-11:30 am). The extremely windy rain may have had something to do with it. I got the warm buttered lobster roll, which was $38 plus tax and tip. I thought the lobster was quite plentiful -- I counted at least 6 lobster claws in addition to a lot of other meat. The bread was nothing special -- I would've liked it more if it was a tastier brioche or something. The fries were fresh, crunchy outside and soft inside. Overall I thought it was a good dish though quite heavy due to the butter. I would recommend coming with at least 2 people and splitting it, and maybe ordering something lighter to balance it out. Overall in terms of lobster quantity and quality, Yankee Lobster is definitely one of the better lobster rolls I've had. It's a no-frills establishment serving a local classic dish -- would be a good place for tourists for sure!
