Pros: nice atmosphere, wonderful wine. Service was great.Cons: the food just isn’t impressive. Very under-seasoned, and also not taking on true Spanish flavors (for example, Albondigas aka meatballs literally just came out in a bowl of meat juice, not the traditional red wine sauce)There are better tapas in Boston for sure

We came for Dine Out Boston so we got to try a number of different dishes as well as their white wine by the bottle! Everything was so delicious and the service was really great. Can’t wait to return sometime soon!Dietary restrictions: I am severely allergic to peanuts and I could have everything on the menu without an issue!

lobster scallop empanada was the only dish my partner and I felt was worth finishing (ordered 4 tapas in total). Good place to grab a drink b/c of service and funky decor, but not good place for an actual dinner. But re: drinks, mocktail old fashioned is more expensive than their alcoholic version for some reason. Weeks later, I honestly still find myself thinking about this randomly b/c it makes no sense to me.TLDR: wish we got Subway instead #eatfresh

The lamb chuletillas are exceptional. Also, the queso de la plancha salad did not disappoint—it is a must-have with every meal. The paella was quite good as well. The chocolate mousse topped it off for the win! As always, the service and ambiance were delightful. Estragon is my go-to tapas spot in Boston, bar none.

This place was great—the setting is gorgeous, the food is delicious, and the staff a very accommodating. We had a gluten-free guest in our party, and the kitchen worked with us to make sure they had a great time!

First time here and will definitely be back! The interior decor is whimsical and cozy which matches the cocktail list and food menu. My friend and I ordered so many things because we could not decide and everything surpassed expectation. And that chocolate mousse for dessert.... delish!! Great tapas spot hidden in the South End.

Another outstanding experience at Estragón, my favorite place for tapas. The pulpo, patatas bravas, and queso a la plancha were delicious. The service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing. Also the eclectic lounge decor and the R&B music created a sexy vibe. Estragón can't miss!

This place is quickly becoming our new favorite … food is terrific, vibe is very funky and neighborhoody, staff is tremendously friendly. We had several “wowwww” moments with first bites from various dishes.Dietary restrictions: Menu makes it very clear what is veggie, gluten-free etc. lots of options.

This is our go-to neighborhood joint. Absolutely delightful owners and staff, top to bottom. We always feel welcomed and comfortable here. Real tapas comfort food. Don't miss the pulpo, the delightful paprika-dusted chick peas, the delicious lamb sliders. I'd never tried oxtail - just fantastic, especially if you dip a roll sauce. The vibe is like the salon of a funky, artistic, creative, European friend. Estragon is just the right place for an intimate night out, a gathering of good friends, or a holiday party. Many restaurants give off the vibe that they want to turn your table as quickly as possible. This is understandable; it's a tough business. But we never feel rushed at this place. What a special restaurant. Go after a tough day and take a mini vacation!

I was here for dinner and ordered non-alcoholic drinks. The waiter and bar tender gave me the alcoholic version of the drink on two separate orders after clarifying and confirming they were dry drinks. Absolutely unacceptable to not be able to manage simple instructions.

Fantastic food, cool atmosphere, interesting drinks. Absolutely will come again!Update, 5 years later and this place is still amazing. If you aren't getting the garbanzo beans, you're doing something wrong. They also have an impressive number of mocktails that are more than just fruit juice and soda water. Something for everyone!Vegetarian options: There's an entire section of vegetarian plates and they will notice if one person is ordering only vegetables and ask if you'd like those to be plated completely separately from the meat.

I have gone to Estragon many times prior to the pandemic, but this was my first time back since and I am glad that Estragon survived it. As usual, they offer such a variety of tapas dishes and the food is always good. Drinks were refreshing and service was attentive and friendly. I would recommend the Braised Oxtail and Garlic Shrimp.

First time here and definitely won’t be our last! As soon as we came in the atmosphere was a mix of vintage with flare. The little touches of decor make it perfect. The service from the hostess to our server was outstanding - both very personable. Cocktails are a great pour compared to other restaurants I’ve been to in Boston. And the food was absolutely delicious!!!! Overall fantastic experience

It was underwhelming considering that it was voted Best in Boston. The food was good, but I wasn't impressed. I don't think I would go again unless I happened to be in the area with someone who wanted to try it. The bbq short rib flatbread was like something that I could have made at home; it didn't even come out with the cheese melted.

Everything from start to finish was amazing. We can't think of a single thing that we ordered that we said was only OK, everything was yummy. Highlights for us included the lamb sliders, and the short rib flatbread.
