Even with low expectations the meal was bad. It brought to my mind the image of a huge salt shaker suspended in the kitchen. In my dinner tonight there was more salt than I would add to my food over two to three months of dining. Literally. Who hired this kitchen staff?

Best restaurant & bar in the Forest hills area. Need to clean the light fixtures over the bar area. No prices on the drink menu. No root beer. Repair upholstery on the corner seat. Amanda is a sweetheart ❤️

**Eugene O'Neill's: A Hidden Gem by Forest Hills MBTA**Across the street from the Forest Hills MBTA bus station, Eugene O'Neill's exudes charm and warmth from the moment you step in. My recent lunch experience there was nothing short of delightful. From the get-go, the service at Eugene O'Neill's was exceptional. Attentive and friendly staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant meal ahead. My friend and I opted for classics: a BLT with avocado and a Reuben, both served with steak fries. The sandwiches were a revelation. The BLT, adorned with avocado, offered a refreshing twist on a beloved classic. Meanwhile, the Reuben boasted the perfect balance of flavors and textures, leaving us craving more with every bite. Accompanied by golden, crispy steak fries, each component of our meal was executed flawlessly. What truly stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the ambiance. Eugene O'Neill's possesses an inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening with friends. The cozy interior and welcoming vibe added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.Overall, Eugene O'Neill's surpassed expectations in every aspect. From the impeccable service to the mouthwatering fare, it's evident why this establishment is a local favorite. As for me, I'll eagerly be back for more culinary delights and memorable moments at Eugene O'Neill's. Highly recommended.

We slept on this place for way too long after it reopened. Food is great, service is attentive. Instantly our favorite spot in JP for pub food.

I love this place, but man, they gotta work on their music. drinks and bartenders are great, but there's only so much Van Halen, journey, Fleetwood Mac etc you can put up with. I mean please.

Food is ok, tasty but typical bar food. The service was kinda slow, maybe bkz they had to schlep up & down stairs to get food from kitchen to diner. Food was kinda cold when arrived, & it ain't cheap. But bartenders are good, very friendly. Typical bar atmosphere, nothing special, but clean & well-lit

What else is more perfect on a rainy than going into an Irish pub and pretending that you're a million miles away? Eugene O'Neill's is NOT that precious, piped in Irish Rovers (don't get me wrong....I love a good unicorn tale) music, with a smattering of apostrophe'd food selection names on the O'Menu. This is a solid, finely vetted menu with amazingly good food, even better Bloody Mary's, and staff who are lovely. And I use that word intentionally. Fish and chips were light, fries AMAZING (simple and crunchy and with malt vinegar? Kooky delicious). The buffalo tenders were on the small side-which I prefer- not too spicy and cooked perfectly. The house salad super fresh and it deducted any calories from the tenders, obviously. The Reuben was grilled, and I mean GRILLED! Look at it! My husband is a borderline reuben snob and he breathed it in. He ordered sweet potato fries, but it accidentally came out w regular. Because the fries are so delicious as is, it was no problem. But then the plate of sweet potato fries appeared and they were glorious. Ridged, fried crisp and perfectly. Just lovely people at EO's. We were there on a Friday at 12:30pm, very quiet, dark wood (I mean, Irish pub) and cozy. I saw a flyer for a monthly book club that happens, and other neat events, as well. Def check out this wonderful place....I promise that you'll feel as if you've been there a thousand times before!

This was a weekend family lunch. We had a great meal, in a nearly empty restaurant, arriving right at opening,We had excellent service with tasty food at a fair price.

My partner and I have lived in Jamaica Plain for over two years and were looking forward to our first experience at Eugene O'Neill's. We could not be more disappointed and disheartened with our experience. To cut the story short there was a disruptive belligerent customer at the bar who was out of line. He was screaming from the moment we entered the restaurant. But his comments went from loud and disruptive to hateful and harmful quickly. He made homophobic comments regarding that JP is getting taken over by queer folks using homophobic slurs. The bartender was quick to respond and reprimand him and threaten to kick him out, but unfortunately that was not enough to stop the customers hate speech. A queer couple immediately left the restaurant when this nonsense started. The customer then went on to harass and argue with other customers minding their own business. He screamed at another customer saying that "HE WAS NOT WHITE" because the man identified as Italian. He then went on to comment on the color of the customers skin, saying his dark not white and had such dark skin. That customer left. Next, he approached another customer minding their business "IM A BAD GUY AND ILL HURT PEOPLE LIKE YOU, YOU BETTER WATCH OUT". I informed my waiter that this customer is dangerous and really should be asked to leave. The waiter said that they would inform their manager and see what can be done. The majority of the restaurant including my partner and I left to protect our own safety. We ordered a burger and cauliflower which took way to long, over 30 minutes, to arrive to our table. We will 100% not be coming back and it was not a safe space- especially to experience hate speech on Juneteenth and pride month.
