I stay in Rhode Island and I used to frequent the Providence flames A LOT! Until their food got too bland and dry. People say they changed to appease yt peepo taste buds in the area but either way, I stopped going there and found Island House on Broad st. Anyway, I always heard that the flames in Boston stayed true to the roots and the flavors were 100% better than Providence. The other day I was in Boston and although flames was 20mins out of the way, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. My mouth watered the whole ride there and upon arrival, the clerk was so friendly and inviting! I was excited cuz I knew I wanted the jerk chicken. To keep a long story short, the jerk was not jerking, ok. The chicken was drier than a bad joke. No flavor and shredding. I am so sorry because the sweet and spicy chicken was smackin- but that was the highlight because the cabbage was fresh (bland) and the rice and peas had good flavor but there were too many hard pieces of rice in it. Made me question the freshness of it all. I wouldn’t go back there.. I’m wondering now if people in Rhode Island was referring to the next flames in Boston, because Huntington Ave is not giving, at all. My picture is to demonstrate the dryness and lack of seasoning to the chicken. Tasted baked, not grilled. Theres no pics of the sweet and spicy chicken or the *HOMEMADE* beef patty because we demolished them, they were 10 outta 10!!

Oh! Absolutely! I have only been to two Jamaican/Caribbean places in Beantown, so far, but I would choose this over any other. The food was pretty close to what I've eaten in our previous residence. The flavor is on point, and the portions are worth your monies ..and yes! We traveled over an hour for this food! The staff is friendly and attentive to customers' needs. No hustle about anything! We had curry goat and jerk chicken, plus the passion/pineapple juice. Ate to our fill and had leftovers to take home. Located right in front of the Green-line (E) and less than 10 mins from the Nubian T stop, you have no reason not to go over and try it. There's plenty of seating for dine-in. We shall return!

I went back yesterday and they've increased the price by over $1. I expected the food to taste better due to the price change. However, the quality of the food got worse. They give more rice and less chicken now.

Curry goat is awesome! So tender and flavorful. It’s the right amount of heat and spices. I also got the sea moss drink, and it’s interesting to the palate.

In my opinion, this is the best Flames location. And I've been to all of them. It's the rice. You want that nice, fluffy, coconut tasting rice and pea. This is the spot! Very spacious inside . Theres street parking. The place is always clean. Service is meh, but the food! The food is good. I get the salmon, but I promise whatever you order will be good.

The service is selective. If you're Jamaican or a goid looking black female you'll get good service. The food portion is selective as well. Im disappointed. Won't go back again.

I mean look at the plates it speaks for itself. It looks great and tastes even better. We got the rice and peas with cabbage and oxtail and the same thing except with stewed goat. You can tell they clean and prepare their meats well because there is no gamey taste to it. It's just super tender and welll made.

Local Jamaican food restaurant arriving typical authentic Jamaican Food. The service was a bit slow, the prices a bit more than expected but the food was what I was looking for. They had all my favorites including pineapple ginger and champagne cola drinks, as well as carrot cake and other typical desserts of the island.

This was the small size . Costed about $13 with tax. The portions here are large and the prices are reasonable. I was skeptical to try this spot after reading the reviews . But I am happy I decided to try it for myself. The place is very casual nothing fancy at all your typical homey mom and pop shop. I ordered my food . Was served it with no issues and went on my way . As a person new to the area I'm happy I found a Caribbean spot that's close by that I can get food from . Will be coming back to try out other menu items . Pleasantly surprised:) This is the king fish , rice and peas with steamed veg ( cabbage) . If you're not a person that particularly love spicy food, this escovich might be a bit much for you.

I went today 5/5/23 to the store in Brigham Circle. On my way in , a homeless guy askes me for a goat dinner. I told him I can get him a Chicken plate and he said ok J*** chicken. I placed that order first. I noticed an older woman behind me and because I was placing a large order, I asked her if she is ordering one meal. The Indian man who was serving me got an instant attitude and walked away to get the J*** chicken. I asked for beef and when I saw that he was serving the pepper steak. I said to him. Is that the thicker beef behind and he said its steak with an attitude. Had the nerve to say I was rude to him. I was not rude to him, he carried on so where the older lady who has always been nice to me had to take over serving me. I am not a rude person and do not conduct myself that way. He started cursing me and i told him that is not the way to treat a customer and I went there! I cursed him out! and I was not ladylike. I called him all sort of names. I should have walked out but i wasn't thinking as I was so engrossed in telling him off. I know if I was white he would not have treated me that way. I am not sure what going on nowadays which customer service. You messed with the wrong one today!
