The brunch I had was delicious. The salmon eggs Benedict was actually the best I've had in Boston with large eggs and cooked to PERFECTION: even better than the one at Abe and Louis and the Atlantic Fish Company. I also had carbonara with poached egg on top and also delicious. The host lady, the waitress, and the runners all very friendly: I'll never forget the runner who let me take photos of the heavy tray of dishes he was carrying from the kitchen to customers' tables. Sad for the staff that the restaurant closed for good due to COVID. I'm thinking of you all!

It was a close one between 4 and 5 stars, it was the overall value which led me to award the 5th star. If I came more hungry; definitely a 5-star experience hands down. The portions were actually decent, and not a large plate with a teeny tiny tapa-sized course within. The restaurant has a classy but not pretentious or over-the-top environment. I was there for a family date on a Monday, and it is Corona-time, so, there were only a couple other people in the restaurant. I am also a big fan that there's free validated parking in the rather large neighboring parking lot. You don't need me to tell you how hard it is finding parking in the city, especially near a place that is only "$$". I was able to try the French Onion Soup, the Duck Confit, and the Toasted Coconut Layer Cake. Everything my family and I had was fresh, and had spent no time under a lamp. The French Onion Soup had good flavor, and was a little different than I was expecting, though not in a bad way by any means. For one, it was less sweet than all the ones I've had before. The cheese was also more stringy (also not a bad thing). My only note is regarding the 'croutons'... some were small, other smaller, and one was a whole slice of baguette! Duck Confit was spectacular! The duck was cooked to absolute perfection with a crisp skin and unbelievably tender meat below. They did not overdo the seasoning, and it worked perfectly! The items below were solid, though again, had I come hungry I know I would have happily inhaled them. Had a pleasant glass of wine with the duck. I don't know much about wine, yet, but I defer to my server. The Coconut Cream cake was good, and I liked the touch of lime. However, the cake was a little dry for my taste. The coffee was very good, the kind that actually smells like coffee when they bring it to you. Balanced bitterness/acidity too. The service was excellent, it was friendly, quick and attentive!

Two stars because we loved our waiter and the ambiance was nice but the food left very little to be desired. Not much flavor and way over priced for what it is. Would not go back and there's way better French spots around the city.

Very disappointing! We went to Gaslight on August 1st and had an excellent experience, which we expected because we had been there before. Went again tonight for my wife's birthday and were very disappointed. The service was slow; it took forever for them to even take our order though it didn's seem that busy. The appetizer (beet salad) was quite good, but my wife's entree (Veal Milanese) was overcooked - dark brown outside and dry inside - it looked like it had been deep fried. When she said that to the wait person who delivered it, he did absolutely nothing. Instead he offered to take the remaining beet salad, but when I asked him to box it up, he refused. "Your server will be by to check on you," he said and left. And then we waited some more. Eventually I went and got the Maitre d' who did take care of us, and they comped her meal, but the replacement (Branzio) and my meal (Moules fritte) were kind of uninspiring. We decided that we'd skip dessert given all this, and paid our bill, but the maitre d' lost our parking ticket instead of validating it. He found it on the floor and said it had been validated, but it wasn't - $25 charge at the parking lot. Fortunately the parking attendant remembered us and comp'd the parking ticket. SO - we didn't really get ripped off because so much was comp'd but we went for a great meal to celebrate a milestone birthday, not to spend 2.5 hours waiting on mediocre food. At one point I asked what was wrong, had everyone recently quit, and he said yes. It's sad so many restaurants are struggling during COVID and so many have gone under; Gaslight has gone under too, it's just they haven't closed yet.

Out of the world oysters. Best that I have ever had. Outdoor seating is really nice cozy and romantic.. watermelon salad, oysters, tilapia and a mushroom dish, was really good. Servers were very nice and kind!!

I made reservations for Gaslight a week in advance. We got seated right away at 8 pm on a Friday night but there was a miscommunication with our service as we waited 35 minutes until our waiter came to greet us. We finally told someone that we were waiting, turns out they didn't have any waiter assigned to our table. The restaurant was packed. We almost walked out without ordering, but after our waiter came over and thoroughly apologized and explained himself, we understood that the wait staff was being stretched too thin. They were being asked to bartend, wait tables, and buss tables. Our waiter had tables all over the restaurant, as well as the outside patio. We stayed and ordered since I really wanted to try the duck. The food was INCREDIBLE! We got the salmon, duck and scallops. The food, ambiance of restaurant and our apologetic waiter definitely made up for the bad first impression.

An entire loaf of bread to start your meal? Yes, please. And not just any bread, but delicious and flaky white bread that melts in your mouth when the butter provided is applied. The warm ricotta fresca is a must order-- the crostini bread they provide with it is top notch. Also there's a free parking lot next to it?? In Boston???

First time at the restaurant and I don't think I would go back. My husband and I were there to meet up with some family for lunch. One of our quests had allergies and we had her call there restaurant prior so the chef and manager were informed of all the Allergies they had. The manager said that the restaurant would be able to accommodate her. Well different story when ordering the food. The manager said she would ask the chef what they can make. Then the waiter said they can make a frittata. Well noooo our quest has allergies to egg and she called the restaurant with her allergies. I was so confused and feel so bad for our quest, because no one was on the same page. Disappointing on the management of the restaurant.

The chefs are genius, the atmosphere is warm, and the servers are accommodating. Overall a great time and would definitely come again in an instant. We started with drinks - they were able to make a margarita for us which was great. They didn't have a lot of beer that were in the menu so we just went with our server's recommendation after our first two choices were unavailable. We ordered the truffle mushroom fettuccine, the Pommes frites, and the chicken entrees. For an appetizer we had the French onion soup. The French onion soup was delicious and cheesy. As a connoisseur of French onion soup, it wasn't the best I've had in my life but pretty up there! The mushroom pasta was the highlight of my night. The white wine sauce was delicious and all of the flavors were present and noticeable. Nothing was overpowering and everything about it was delicious. The Pommes frites was great. The sauce on top of the dish was so good I could drink it and the steak was prepared incredibly well. The fries on the side were a good addition, maybe a little soggy by the time we got to them but not their fault we were slow eaters! The chicken was huge! Definitely enough for dinner and then lunch the next day. Very good, especially the potatoes in the dish- so heavenly! Also, the warm bread for the table... Holy heck I wanted to stuff a whole loaf in my bag. We asked for another serving of the bread because one just wasn't enough!

We came here on a Saturday for brunch; ordered the pork hash, bucatini with pancetta and poached egg, and truffle fries. The pork hash was amazing, but we were both disappointed with the bucatini which was very soggy and heavy. The fries tasted completely like regular fries with very small portion and yet $9. Very good service though and the patio was very nice

Somehow I had never been to the actual restaurant, but was glad to see they were available during Covid times through Caviar. The kale salad was a bit boring, but the french onion soup was very rich and deep in flavor. My entree was one of the best cooked pieces of chicken that I've ever experienced, which is even more impressive given the fact it traveled in a Tupperware container across town. The vinegar peppers were an amazing addition to the dish that added a nice slow heat and acid, cutting through the fat from the skin and the butter in the potatoes. I'll have to visit in person next time.

I’m vegan and had called beforehand to make sure they could accommodate me. They said that they could make me a mushroom pasta with olive oil. Got there and the waiter asks the chef what they can make and he returns to me and says “The chef said he can make you a BLT with the bacon on the side.”

This used to be such a nice place . Our dinner last night was below average, all the staff was neglecting most of the tables , service was poor and really slow .

We had a nice time at Gaslight for an anniversary dinner. It was great to visit during Covid and felt very clean. They have a mobile menu that was easily accessed through a QR code.We went on a Tuesday night and happened to be the only table sitting inside which was pretty cool. The patio looked very nice as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is rustic chic, and they have a decent selection of wine. We ordered escargot as an appetizer and it was fine. Not bursting with flavor but still pleasant. There happened to be a customer appreciation menu that you could pick two courses for $33. They had two options each for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Since we had already ordered an appetizer I got swordfish which was supposed to have a "peppercorn brandy sauce" it was really just sort of battered in peppercorn...over all the steak of fish was rather dry and the peppercorn was super overpowering. Luckily I like peppercorn haha. That came with fingerling potatoes and green beans which were lovely. My date got Steak Frites and it was quite good. The meat was tender even if a little bland and the fries were the second best part of the meal. The BEST part of the meal was the dessert - a Salted Caramel Chocolate Mousse, which was part of the customer appreciation menu. It was superb. Very rich, but very good.Anyway, dinner was underwhelming for the price, but it was still tasty and this is a very cute place. I'd love to go back for brunch sometime.

The Gaslight Brasserie looks inviting both outside and inside. We had the Onion soup which was very good, with Truffle flavor and quite a good cheese. The entrees duck confit and chicken were ok, both with a french taste, though not overwhelming. The espresso was disappointing. And the background music was an imposition.
