RIP to the best burrito downtown. Herrera's is no more. It's being replaced with a vinyl record/sushi place--a phrase I can't believe is real. So sad. This is like a human death to me.

Sadly this location is closing at the end of the week.

After much menu deliberation, I opted for the Plato Grande w/ grilled steak ($13.99). Individually, the steak, rice and beans were good, but nothing spectacular. When I mixed them all together though...the deliciousness bumped up a notch. Surprisingly, for me, the star was the bright, fresh pico de gallo that topped the salad greens. The acid and freshness of the tomato really helped balance the salty, rich rice and beans. I was a little unclear from the overhead menu what my topping options were - I like the Chipotle model where you can request items as you see them. For example, I would have asked for cheese and hot sauce had I known those were not "standard." Service is pretty quick, but expect to wait a few minute...you'll be rewarded with piping hot soft tortillas. Overall, a really decent alternative to some of the big burrito chains like Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's etc.

You definitely want to fill up for some energy before the Freedom Trail walk at this spot! That's what I did, and I was so happy with the food. I had a taco salad and the shell was the most delicious thing I have ever had. It was like a pastry and it's own meal. The salad was fresh and filling! There is something for everyone- burritos, quesadillas, so much so that the menu looked a little overwhelming but my whole family loved what they picked.

I haven't been to this place in a couple of years and the food was still excellent! Even when there was a mistake on my order the manager corrected it immediately! He thought I wanted a bean taco when I wanted a beef taco so he gave me a side of the beef and sauce and I got to add that into my taco experience I told him how much I appreciated it and to let him know I was one of those virtual Google map guides he appreciated when I told him I'd give him a a high mark on my visit I intend to do that and I recommend this place! God bless you all check them out in the downtown crossing area of Boston! Tell them Ritchie sent you! ???

Had the fish tacos and they were delicious. Couldn't use the sauce that came with. It was way too spicy. Wish it came with a warning or had a none spicy option. Other than the sauce, i enjoyed my tacos.

After eating the chicken burrito a couple of hours later, I suffered from stomach flu. This was the only thing I ate that day.

I had such a great lunch at Herrera's the other day! It's a classic takeout place, so the ambiance is nothing to call home about, but there are a handful of tables that are accessible in case you want to stay awhile. The location is super convenient - close to Park Street & Downtown Crossing. I'll definitely be back here for a heartier lunch, which is perfect for colder weather! The quesapizza (their newest menu item) is now living rent-free in my head. It was SO good - with multiple layers of cheese (i.e. my dream come true) and filled with rice, protein and other typical Mexican toppings, this was one for the books. Not what I'd typically get for lunch, but now I want it 3 meals a day. I chose chicken as my protein filling and it was delicious!! The only drawback of Herrera's is that its hours are pretty limited - M-F 9am-4pm. Wish it was open later -- the quesapizza would make a GREAT late-night snack!!

Herrera's has been my staple Boston burrito place. Every time I come into the city, I have to stop by. They tend to have stands during the Boston Pride Parade. My first ever pescado burrito and I've never looked back since. Stop by and grab something, I promise you won't be disappointed

Pretty good burrito, just needs more heat. Great selection, though!
