The food was ok but the service was very poor. The ladies working there are rude. They only take cash and the change was abandoned on the top of the counter. They don’t want to answer any questions and just stare at you. Go to the Vietnamese bakery next door. Much cleaner and better customer service. I won’t be back.

The normal place I used to order was at the corner near the Chinatown Gate. I used to love spending my weekend mornings grabbing some pastries for breakfast and sitting at the park by the gate and enjoy the morning. Well, yesterday I found my normal place closed and replaced by something else. I walked by this place in my search for a new bakery. I'm so glad I found this place. It's essentially like the other bakery and has all my favorite pastries and more. I got very good service, but you have to understand it's very different than what people are used to. I've never been able to find banh bo as good as you can find in Chinatown. The banh bo at this place doesn't disappoint Spent about 30 dollars and got a full box of pastries for home. Still enjoying them with the family.

Fantastic buns for a great price. Parking is very tricky so either take the T in or get someone to drop you off.

The traditional pineapple bun was spot on. The breading was soft, the insides were nice and sweet, and the balance between insides and breading were just right.

It's a nice bakery but the items are a bit expensive. We tried the sticky rice balls with red bean paste filling. Ant they don't accept card payment if less than 10!

My favorite bakery in Chinatown. I particularly love their curry buns. There are pastries here that I can't find anywhere else that make it as good as this place.

So yummy, good price, fast service! The steamed bun with lup cheong was so good and the crispiness of both the dan tat and the curry puff was surprising (very impressed)!!

Bought black bean muffins- mostly glutinous wrappers very little black bean Sesame balls- less than a teaspoon of filling Custard buns- hardly any custard and bun s were dry as a bone and tasteless. Will never go back.

Lots of traditional pastries and buns! I love that I can find steamed taro cake (woo tow go) here and other savory treats, like fried dough stick (yow zha guai) and fried dumplings (ham sui gok). Most bakeries in the area only offer sweet options that cater more to modern tastes. However, I'm disappointed that some of Ho Yuen's offerings taste overly oily and just aren't great, like the egg tart (dan tat) and cream swiss roll. The workers tend to be unpleasant, but they are efficient and move through the line of customers quickly.

Stopped in to grab some of the red bean and egg pastries. Cash only under $10. They have a wide assortment of baked and fried goodies and not everything comes in single portions but good for families or group to share.

Good variety of traditional baked and steamed Chinese/Cantonese pastries and desserts. They even have plain white sugar boot jai go that many places don’t have.

Party of 2- aug2023: cute atmosphere desserts were pretty okay. The mango dishes were good but the savory products not a fan of. They have an assortment of drinks and many desserts to choose from. Quick service to go in and out of quickly staff there for business.
