One day after watching a movie at Harvard, I really wanted to eat Okonomiyaki, so I took the red line to Lesley's building. This is my second time coming to Ittoku. This time I didn't order omelette noodles, I ordered beef okonomiyaki, sweet soy sauce with slightly burnt noodles and cabbage, and another bite of egg and beef, delicious! If you want to eat alone, one portion is enough. It’s so big that you can’t finish it. I also tried the Beef Skirt, which was OK, but the meat itself was not tender enough.Eat very well! Come back next time to try something else ^^

Came here last month and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciated how the front of house told us (before seating us) that if we order sushi, it'd take about an hour to prepare the food because they were so busy. Obviously, because it was a Saturday night.Agedashi tofu - As a tofu lover who often orders this dish, I thought it was super yummy and have great flavor & texture. There were four large cubes and came with a lot of garnishes.Nagaimo Teppan - My friends and I were curious about this dish, but it ended up being very different from what we expected. The texture was crumbly and the flavor was not as good as we anticipated. It was an interesting experience but not worth the price for us.Omusoba - SO GOOD. I wish we ordered less so that I had space to eat more of this dish. The flavors were amazing, especially with the seaweed and mayo on top. I loved that there were noodles inside, since I'm an avid noodle enjoyer.Niku Udon - I was craving something soupy, and this dish was exactly what I was looking for. The noodles weren't the typical thick udon noodles, but instead were more flat. The beef was cooked very well and there was just the right amount of it. The flavor was great and the portion was perfect. LOVED this one!Crab Croquette - My first time having this dish and it was above my expectations. It and the same yummy sauce that was on the omusoba and came with a little bit of salad. The croquettes themselves were cooked very well, but were very filling. Would definitely recommend if you like fried food!In terms of service and layout, the place was pretty full when I went, so I had to sit on a long table in the middle of the room, where servers were constantly going back and forth behind me (I didn't mind it). The servers themselves are kind and welcome to the guests, and the food came out pretty quickly. There is a bar as well as an open kitchen were I could see the sushi chef work his craft. There was overall just a great sense of community inside. Unfortunately, because of its location, the restaurant does not have their own bathroom. Instead, we had to leave the restaurant and go around the corner of the "mall" to use the public bathroom. It was fine.In conclusion, I highly recommend going, especially when they aren't busy

Everything was excellent here! The highlight for me was the niku udon and tan tan noodle. They didn't have okonomiyaki and their sushi chef was busy, so we didn't get to try any of their sushi or okonomiyaki. Will have to come back again!

This restaurant looks like Japanese izakaya, which serves drinks and food that matches your drinks. Atmosphere of the restaurant is also similar to that in Japan. Various food menus from sashimi to teppanyaki were served. Though prices are slightly high, you would satisfy your experience in the restaurant!

Perhaps my favorite restaurant in the Boston area; excellent unique food, easy cheap parking, and a truly wonderful and passionate staff. Very hard to find anywhere betterDietary restrictions: I have a peanut and nut allergy and have never run into any issues. I have brought friends with shellfish allergies and gluten intolerances and they're also able to find suitable items on the menuParking: Parking through Lesley university lot, if you get validation it's usually $3-$5.

I love all of the Japanese restaurants in Porter Square. Came here with a group of friends. The place is spacious, so it is good for groups, but you will need a reservation because it gets busy.Overall, the food was not as good as I expected, but it wasn't bad either. My favorite was the mentaiko udon and fried calamari. The udon was very creamy and had a lot of flying fish roe. I was disappointed with the torched salmon because it was completely cooked rather than raw.

We tried Izakaya Ittoku for the first time after wanting to go for a while. The interior is interesting -- it has bright fluorescent overhead lighting that I wouldn't expect from an izakaya type of restaurant. Overall the food came out pretty quickly and we got to try a variety of dishes. The niku udon stood out with irregular wide noodles, comforting broth, and tender sliced beef. We liked it so much that we ordered it again. The chicken thigh yakitori was tender and flavorful -- definitely a highlight. The tako wasa was quite good and reasonably priced. The ringo mocktail was also really delicious. The shishito peppers with savory dashi broth were a unique and tasty experience, though a bit pricey. The butter mushroom dish had a nice flavor with sliced king oyster mushrooms. The squid and chicken karaage were both pretty good but not the best I've had of either. The seafood okonomiyaki looked beautiful, especially the plump and delicious shrimp, but overall it was okay, not my favorite. The takoyaki wasn't special, and the grilled chicken wings were not great—seemed slightly undercooked inside and lacked crispiness.I'd definitely reorder the niku udon, tako wasa, and chicken thigh yakitori. I prefer the niku udon over the hot niku udon at Yume around the corner due to better noodles and broth. We were lucky to get seats quickly, but I recommend coming early, especially on busy evenings.

Quick and causal spot in the Porter sq area for small eats. The chicken thigh skewers were our favorite. So juicy and tender. The karage was also great, didn't have that flour aftertaste some places have. The tofu was also quite flavorful. The waitstaff is friendly and service is quick. It's a great spot to chill with friends and get a drink with snacks. The bathroom is shared with the Lesley spaces so you need to go outside of the restaurant. Oh it also opens late each day and is not a spot for lunch. I would definitely recommend checking this out if you're in the area.

Food: 4/5Order a lot and order everything because all of it is good and meant to be shared. The okonomiyakis are a must order and perfect for sharing at the table. It is soooo good and they cut them into many small servings for the table. Their fried salmon belly was from their special menu and the meat was tender and juicy. The skewers are all very good and can't go wrong with any of them. I recommend getting the chicken thighs, porky belly, or beef short rib. Service: 4/5Service here is very standard. Everyone here is very nice and service is usually quite fast. Ambiance: 4.5/5The ambiance is very friendly and loud. It's perfect for a casual date, and even better for coming with a group of friends to just talk, have fun, and just share good food.Overall Experience: 4/5100% come here with friends if you haven't already. It might be a regular thing you guys do to catch up or just hang out after a long week's work. Parking is tricky on the street. There is a paid parking lot right outside of the university building that the restaurant is in and Ittoku will validate your parking ticket for a discounted rate. You could park a little farther away in the quieter residential streets for free if you don't mind the walk. Be aware that they do close on mondays and tuesdays.

Great place to grab Japanese street food, beer and Japanese whiskey & sake. Very good service from everyone here just like in Asia and affordable prices too. Love it here!
