Go for: Some surprisingly good pizza and an evolving menu with Central and South American fare.Avoid if: You're looking for Jak Pizzeria (now Todo Rico).Something surprising: The entire seating area of the restaurant was updated, but the sign outside still indicates the previous establishment, and much of the menu carried over as well.Reservation needed? No, counter service and minimal seating inside.Overall . The pizza continues to be great at this neighborhood spot, but it's difficult to order one when you can't reach anyone over the phone to take your order.Value for Price: 4Sanitation: 3Food Quality: 4Menu Precision: 2Service Quality: 2Timing: 3Decor: 3Access: 4—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again

Meat lovers pizza was good. Low tomato sauce which some people prefer.

*important*: As others have noted in their reviews, this is no longer "Jaks Pizza", it is a new restaurant called "Todo Rico" and just like the name says, everything is great. They do still serve pizza; and it is great. I've added some photos of their paper menu and chalkboard out front. Lovely staff, great food, quick turnaround on the pizzas (about 20min), and good prices (I got 3 large pizzas for $57 - that's better than other popular pizzerias nearby). Great place all around.Highly recommend the cheeseburger pizza. Which, refreshingly, has a lot of veggies on it.

Amazing food! Ordered a Jak Pizza and two Cokes with my wife. I'm pretty sure the folks thought I was Hispanic because Im pretty tanned up but I'm just a Mainer that works in Construction. These folks were excellent, very nice and did an amazing job. 10/10 would recommend to a friend or stranger.

Nice corner place to eat, pizza is good, people are nice and it being a local place i lean toward it more then a chain.Bit small, so if it's busy might need to take it to go

Ordered a pizza with no onion. They gave it to me with onion. No problem as this happens. When I complained about the situation the guy told me I lied and never said no onion on the phone. I said it at least three times. I told him this and he just hung up. Very very rude.

The food is solid. I enjoy both the empanads and pizza very much. Doesn't blow your mind but it's tasty and good for a quick bite. Pizzas could use more sauce. Very friendly staff and great

Not the old jaks. Worse food, higher prices, less toppings, pizza crust was good, empanadas were a joke. Disappointing to lose a good restaurant, worse to get an imposter pretending to be an old favorite

Well I called in to place my order but as always in east Boston you can’t place an order as easy if your only language is English. I sat on hold for 10min all because the first person to answer my phone call didn’t speak English just to be hung up on to have to call back for the same lady to pick up the phone and place me on another hold to find someone who speaks and understands me… being already African American and displace in this area I would be at least ok with being able to walk into a restaurant or call a restaurant and make a clear order without confusion

This is not Jak's anymore. When Jak's closed a couple months ago, it reopened under new management and under a new name that's only used on the receipt-- I believe it's Rico Fast Food. They still use the same Jak's signage out front which is very misleading and the same menu as the former restaurant, but the prices are different and they don't honor the combo meals as indicated on the menu. Besides all this being misleading, they haven't clarified which items they still make and what the new prices are. Last I went in, I purchased two things that, according to the menu, should have cost less than $20, but ultimately came out to about $30. If I knew how much things cost, I would be able to make a more informed decision. Please update your signs and menu to reflect the changes. You are a new business and masquerading as the former Jak's restaurant is a lie to the community because you know Jak's was well loved here.

Lady answering the phone could not understand “do you sell slices” — she responded small or large? I went somewhere else that could help me
