A no-frills Chinese/Taiwanese food joint. Always keep coming back to this place. No matter what some crybabies would like to tell you.

I am glad that the establishment is still operating - given the pandemic that forces a lot of business to go out of business. Called in for takeout on Friday night. Service was courteous and prompt. They did run out of stinky tofu - according to the server, they obtained the stinky tofu from a producer in NY and they currently are not making them.Got an order of the Gua Bao - Braised pork sandwiched in steam bun topped with cilantro and crushed peanutsTaiwanese Vegetarian Stir Fried Rice VermicelliCrispy Tofu with Soy SprinklesFood was delicious and the portion was good. We enjoyed everything. The food was ready when we arrived to pick up. The lady at the counter was very friendly and polite. Parking was usually a hassle but since it was late, we lucked out and managed to park right in front of the restaurant.

I love their three cups chicken. Very authentic and large too. Have tried other food like fried rice and noddles. The soup is bad though.

I got dumpling and 3 cup chicken. It was ok! Take into account that it was a delivery.

Taiwanese pork on rice was terribly dry, and had no flavor. Worst one I’ve ever had. Secondly, the crispy Taiwanese chicken was flavored very strangely compared to all other Taiwanese chicken I’ve had before (10+ other places), and had not only bones in it (uncommon), but tons of tiny bone shards, so I felt like I was constantly cracking my teeth while eating. Terrible experience. Needs major improvement. Hope they can see this review for feedback on their food.

We went to Jo Jo Taipei one Saturday afternoon and the food was great. Its located on a busy street, but once you are inside the restaurant you would never know of all the hustle and bustle going on outside. It is bright, plenty of seating well decorated, clean, friendly, fast service, and the menu is VERY EXTENSIVE and has something for absolutely anyone I am sure!!

Enjoyed the food but nothing special. Taiwanese noodles are very good.

Terrible service and terrible food. Ordered the vermicelli noodles with curry powder and JoJo soup dumplings. Noodles came out 10 mins before the dumplings. They were very oily. Next came the soup dumplings.. they looked extremely dry. Took a bite and there was no soup at all but even worse the pork was completely pink and mushy. The waitress never came back to check on us so we had to go cash out up front and tell her we weren't paying for the soup dumplings we didn't eat. She asked why frustrated and we told her the pork was not cooked, she claimed it was so we brought them to the counter to show her and she exclaimed that she served many that night just like that. Then we added there was no soup in them and she said that was the recipe that it didn't call for soup. So we asked why are they called soup dumplings then?? She said it was just how the recipe was. Miserable waitress and inedible food. Decided to go take out real soup dumplings from Dumpling Kingdom after.

I decided to come here for dinner on a rainy Wednesday night because my husband and I had never tried this place before. It's on the same block with Bon Chon, pho Le, etc., The restaurant was empty so my husband and I were a little hesitated when we were seated. We ordered Szechuan fish fillet, beef with watercress, calamari, Jo Jo Taipei seafood hot and sour soup, and fried chicken. The food was actually really good except the fried chicken. Everything was well seasoned. My husband's favorite was the beef with watercress. Our waitress was very nice to us. The experience overall was good.

Loved it so much ate here twice in one week! I got the Singapore laksa and it was so creamy and good! My boyfriend chose the Korean army soup and he loved it as well! Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves hot pot!

Best real Chinese in Allston (imho). I’ve done lunch special takeout for many years, especially like the garlic spinach and sachuan spicy fish. The food is good quality and inexpensive, and they are friendly people.

For me, the only plus side of coming here is that there is no wait. However, the food didn't taste very good and the service wasn't good despite the restaurant not being very busy, so I don't see myself coming back here. Pan fried dumplings - My friends and I felt like these tasted a bit off. One person thought it was too salty; I thought it was a bit sour. In any case, it didn't taste quite authentic or good. Stewed minced pork over rice with egg - This was probably the best dish out of what we had. I thought the minced pork could have had more flavor as it was a bit bland, but it was still pretty good. Lotus cake - I'm not usually a huge fan of lotus cake but this was pretty good. Again, might be a bit bland, but dip it in sauce and it's enjoyable. There were a couple other dishes that we ordered but none of the really stood out as delicious. Each one seemed to be either too bland or too extreme in some type of taste (usually salty or sour). As for service, it seems that the restaurant forgot a couple of our orders until we asked about them (we heard them shouting the order to the chefs after we mentioned them). Even though we ordered mostly appetizers, it took about 30 minutes for all the food to come out.
