this place would have normally gotten 4 stars from me for food. Yes the food it good enough for 4 stars. BUT, the fact that the owner does NOT accept cards, and has refused to adapt to the fact that in 2020! People no longer walk around with cash, and the fact that the owner REFUSES to put a sign up NOTIFYING customers ahead of time of the fact that she is a CASH ONLY business, makes me give her 2 stars, 1)a business MUST put a sign up saying " cash only", at the entrance. 2) This owner ONLY notifies customers of the fact that they need to pay in cash AFTER they placed their order, at the register, sort of making them go to the next door ATM and get cash - this is some sly cunning type of behavior.... 3) THE ERA OF COVID - 19, the Coronavirus is SPREAD through cash!!!! This woman is still open and operating on a CASH ONLY basis, this is a serious public health concern!

I love the food, now I am a regular. The lady behind the counter is very nice and I kind of trust her now with the quality of food. If the lady is not there I feel like something is missing. I usually go with chicken curry and lemonade.

Cant go wrong with the chicken curry, lamb stew or veggie chili at or under $10. They are organic and consistently delicious.

I came here for lunch as I was curious to try this place. I had the chance to visit Iran a few years ago and was amazed by the hospitality of the people there and the great food. This all is reflected in this restaurant. The woman at the counter (I suppose she’s the owner and chef) was very welcoming and kind. The food is simply delicious and you can taste the love of the people for their culture. I will definitely come back here regularly!!

I rarely if ever write a review, but I really feel compelled to share my bad experience. Got here on a Saturday night, place was empty but I didn’t think twice about it. A small old fashioned place, however they are very over priced for below average mediocre food that, in my experience, was even not cooked properly. We ended up ordering a total of about 8 plates (lamb stew, chicken curry, chicken biryani, and mixes of the kabob). The portions were very small, not nicely presented, rice barely even cooked. It felt like they had mixed old rice with some new rice that was quickly cooked if at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience. And now I understand why the place was empty. It may have been a good place in the past, but currently, I am sorry to say but it is awful.

This restaurant is a wonderful perfectly preserved hole-in-the-wall in the middle of a tacky overdeveloped city. The food is dreamy and homemade. The service is excellent. The owner has a million and a half stories about Iran, her family business, the pride she has in her heritage. I didn't realize the place was cash only, but she kindly trusted me and prepared my order while I went to the atm next door. The prices seemed great for the wonderful food and service I was experiencing. It was clear that she knew a lot of her customers' names and stories. There's no music and barely any decoration but this place is a gem that deserves your business.

It’s a good place for a quick bite. Very hard working people with an old-fashioned family-owned restaurant. The dining area needs a bit of an upgrade. It’s a bit cramped and not so cozy. The food was awful, but that’s just me. I’m a bit picky about Persian food. Not the worst Persian food, but comes very close. Our food didn’t taste fresh and seemed to be warmed up. It might’ve been their off peak season and hour. Probably won’t visit them soon, however, will keep an eye on them for a better future.

I don't understand why the rating is low.

I don't understand all the negative reviews about this place. Surely the furniture might be a little outdated, but the dishes are homely and delicious. As a college student living in the neighborhood for a long time, I wanted to explore something a bit different. I walked in not knowing what to get, and the owner recommended me their Curried Chicken dish. Minutes later, I have a plate of chicken & rice, a bottle of yogurt-like sauce, and two pieces of naan breads in front of me. The white sauce and the curried chicken was the perfect mixture of sweet, sour, and spicy tastes. The servers and the owner are all super friendly and willing to help. There is decent amount of seating, and a small and well-maintained bathroom. The restaurant is also one of the only restaurants on Huntington that is not crowded at popular times (prob cuz it is cash only).

I have been eating here for more than 8 years now, and Moby Dick is unarguably my most favorite restaurant ever! Lentil rice is so simple yet comforting, I prefer it over a home-cooked meal. Chicken biryani is one of the best I've ever had, and so are the other rice dishes. Kabobs are tantalizing too, with the spice levels and combinations that hit all the right notes! Moti's in-house white sauce is to die for, and do not forget to try her lemonades, so unique and refreshing! Moti and her staff have been running this place for more than 4 decades in the same location, which speaks in itself. They have an established loyalist clientele, and their service is extremely personalized. I can't speak highly enough of this place, and even plan my schedule to make sure I eat here at least once a week!

I'm a vegetarian, and I love this place! The ash-e reshteh is amazing - I've tried it from pretty much every restaurant in the area that sells it, and Moby Dick's is my favorite by far. Wonderfully comforting, with a satisfyingly herbaceous flavor. The sandwich with grape leaves is also delightful. The veggie lentil chili is great if you're in the mood for a quick bite!
