So my first impression was why there wasn't a line for this place. That should've been a clue to avoid this place. As other reviews had mentioned it seems as the person behind the counter wasn't as welcoming as the other eatery's. My initial bite of the combo deal was biting into a warm soft tasty roll that was filled with bland ground beef. Yes, the filling was not seasoned at all and to make it palatable I had to leave just enough of the steak to have enough meat to cheese ratio to make the sandwich palatable, this was certainly a waste. However the only saving part of this meal was having the ambience of the upstairs eating area that was a nice experience.

Hate to say it, but unfortunately the other reviews were right. Not a great philly cheesestake. No onions? Just beef that was dry. Cheese was definitely lacking. Nothing like the pictures.

Gotta say... this place surprised me! I wasn't expecting 'haute cuisine' from any stall in this market, but I still wasn't sure what I was about to experience. I realize in Boston you should opt for regional specialties like 'chowdah' and 'lobstah.' Still, my curiosity was piqued by a "Philly" shop in the middle of downtown Boston. And I wasn't feeling any particular flavor at the time, so... here we go! The cheesesteak was surprisingly good, overfilled and tasty! My only complaint: the meat needed more seasoning. Had I known this, I would have added a little S&P on my own, but I didn't know, so I didn't grab any. Oh well, it was still decent. More cheese? Yeah, maybe, but it wasn't devoid of any. Grilled onions? If you ask, you shall receive! And I mean, a bunch of them! The roll was also good. It was close to an Amarosa's from Philly. Maybe not exact, but close. And the fries were surprisingly good, for what I assume came from a freezer directly into the fryer. They still had a nice crunchy exterior and a soft/fluffy interior. If you ask for ketchup, there is a communal bottle with the hand germs of a thousand locals and tourists. I joke, but not really. It's not a complaint, just a wistful note in case you're sensitive to germs and such. The line moved VERY quickly, so props to the team there for shepherding us all along very well! They also HAD a line, so this is what drew me to choose this place over other similar establishments. I figure if you're operating a stall in this market, you HAVE to bring your A game. I feel like this joint knows this, and they clearly showed an effort to put up a quality product. Overall, it's not Philly legit, maybe, but it's not too far from it. Probably more legit than most non-Philadelphia establishments I've tried. And for the record, a single combo with a cheesesteak, fries, and a drink (plus one extra drink) was well enough to feed two grown adults! So, you're definitely getting your money's worth here. I'd come back, honestly! I might remember to bring a little salt and pepper, but I'd definitely come back to this place!

The Philly Cheese Steak with Peppers was sloppy and flavorless. What you see on the menu is nothing like what you get on your tray, which appears to be, and tastes like, unseasoned ground beef sloppily ladled on to a few cheap cheese slices on a flattened hoagie. The meat wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese and the resulting mess wasn't worth finishing, largely feeding the trashbin.

Closed for 20 minutes in the middle of the day and the guy gave me attitude when I asked why. I hate these guys and the kid behind the counter can suck one.

Worst part Philly sandwich ever and I have had and love the real thing. The meat was ground and dry. There was barely any cheese or Mayo. I threw it in the trash. The fries were also bad.. so unfortunate. I was also not happy the guy behind the counter tipped himself.
