Delicious from start to end! I have eaten at many places in the North End and Piccolo Nido is the best by far. The food is exactly what you hope to get - authentic Italian prepared simply and with the best quality ingredients. No wonder most of their diners were Italian! We shared the veal Parmesan and gnocchi entrees and it was sheer perfection. The owner graciously sent over homemade tiramisu for us to try and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The waitstaff was lovely and attentive and we appreciated how welcome they made us feel. Will definitely be back soon.

Pino, So good to see you and eat your food again. The shrimp Fra Diavolo was just what I needed. Thanks for making us feel special last night. You are still my father's favorite restaurant in the North End. A presto!

Amazing experience! Brought my grandma here while she was visiting to experience an authentic Italian meal. Exactly the homey dinner we were looking for. Pico was amazing and checked on us several times, and the service in general was top notch. Ordered the bruschetta for an app which was fresh and delicious. Ordered the mushroom ravioli and veal special for dinner and would recommend either option to anyone - both amazing! Great experience and I will be back shortly!

I love this place- as does everyone I have taken here! Start with that it is off the Main Street, which gets one to take a walk through the beautiful North End. Then, it's not touristy. Instead- it's like finding a small restaurant in Italy. It's quiet, but feels like home. The menu isn't large, but the food is always spot on. Whether it's appetizers, pasta, meat or fish--- always great. Last time I asked them to accommodate my restricted diet and Pino (the owner) served up an amazing meal! Maria was our waitress and she was great, and as an Italian born local, was able to give us some great details about the area and perspective as well.I highly recommend this place -- and can't wait to go back!!

A true authentic Italian dining experience.

Over many years of dining in Boston's North End, Piccolo Nido has become my favorite restaurant. Everything is always consistently excellent...from Pino's greeting, to my favorite Bresaola appetizer, to the wine and main dishes. This charming restaurant is a bit off the beaten Hanover St. track, and away from the swarms of tourists waiting in line at other restaurants. This is by far the best North End choice, and my go-to for years.

We have been coming to Picolo Nido for over 25 years, like many of his faithful regulars. Local restaurants may come and go, but good food and warm hospitality never go out of style. We have brought many of our friends over the years, who themselves have now become regulars. Everyone enjoys the authentic Italian dishes prepared simply with fresh ingredients and homemade pasta. The relaxed atmosphere allows you to actually enjoy having a conversation with your dinner guests, without having to shout above loud music or bad acoustics. It is truly like being in Chef Pino's own home, rather than a restaurant.

This is my go to restaurant in the North End. The food, the welcoming environment, the waitstaff. All of it is top notch. And of course Pino is an unbelievable host and treats you like family each and every time you dine.

We were looking for a great authentic Italian restaurant while visiting Boston and this place did not disappoint! I had veal parmigiana and pasta and it was wonderful. It is off the beaten path as the other reviews had stated but the neighborhood is charming. The restaurant is also near the Paul Revere house.

Piccolo Nido is a great find in the North End. A family run restaurant, it was cozy respite on a snowy January evening. Tino, chef and owner, makes everyone feel special and right at home. We had, what I can only describe as the “platonic ideal” of veal parmigiana— I don't know where he gets his veal, but it is off-the-charts, and there are a variety other veal options on the relatively smallish menu (Quality over Quantity). Everything we tried was absolutely delicious from the minestrone soup to the Frutti de Mare. Highly recommended. We will return.

A lovely night at this special, off the beaten track, authentic Italian restaurant. Our waiter, Nick, was delightful and we enjoyed a delicious antipasto, the special veal Marsala, and a light luscious tiramisu, along with cappuccinos.

What a great find in the North End! Off the beaten path on North Street, Piccolo Nido is a small 15-table restaurant run by Italian immigrants. Food was amazing, and just what we were looking for--the portions are just enough to finish. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Fettucini Frutti di Mare (in a thin tomato sauce with shrimp, scallops and clams) and I loved the gnocci. Will definitely be back!
