Rochambeau was a great hidden gem! We loved the atmosphere upstairs at the brassiere. Very French— nice lighting, mini palms, beautiful bar out of the 1920s, large windows, full view of the kitchen behind a glass wall. I’m not sure if we came in thru the “main entrance”, because the street level entry room was virtually empty. But don’t let that throw you.Delicious drinks in small French cocktail glasses. I had “Thief of the Mountain” which was a cross between an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. Nice wines available by the glass. The food was excellent. We had octopus, lamb, and soup for apps. Then duck, salmon, mussels, and pasta bolognese for dinner. All were delicious! 4 drinks & 4 meals for under $300 (before tip).Highly recommended!

Danaé, our server, is super attentive, sweet, and personable. She kept things very professional and when we got to chatting about rent rates in the area and other “human stuff,” she was warm and open. I feel like I made a nice friend in Boston today. A perfect brunch at Rochambeau. Highly recommend the Croque Monsieur, though be warned, the bread is very thick and delicious!Dietary restrictions: Was asked about dietary restrictions; they speak directly to the kitchen about them while relaying the order.Parking: No street parking directly nearby—the best bet will be the Prudential underground parking nearby, and it’s about a 5 minute walk.

I took my husband for his birthday and we had such a good time. I let them know on the reservation we were celebrating a birthday and they brought us such a nice treat after we finished our meals. The service was great, the quality of food was great and for $36 per person you really can’t beat it. Looking forward to going back and trying brunch!

Steak was so perfectly cooked. Service was excellent. They were able to accommodate for my food allergy 10/10. Can’t wait to come back to Boston and dine here again!Dietary restrictions: I had a garlic allergy & they accommodated ?

Had an excellent brunch that was made even more special by our server, Amelia! She went the extra mile for us and made our whole experience better with her humor and knowledge of the menu. The brunch was incredible, recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes and the eggs Benedict. We will be back FOR SURE!

"The Steak Room" is an experience that is a must try. $36 you receive bread, salad, steak and ENDLESS french fries - literally the only place in the Back Bay with a menu of such value. The quality is top notch - and it's somewhat interactive/fun.

Made a reservation a month ago and the restaurant called to cancel my reservation due to it being booked out for the night I reserve a month ago. First time it’s happening to me. And the explanation I was given was that the event coordinator must’ve change things around. Not very justifiable.

We waited for about 20 minutes longer than our reservation time for the steak room; it was a kind gesture to offer us a complementary charcuterie board and onion dip. The French onion soup is a must-try item, filled with flavor and topped with lots of cheese. The greens were fresh and perfectly coated with dressing. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned well, and the bread was also nice and warm. However, all of our steaks (party of 6) came out cold. One of my friends' steaks came out too rare and had to be sent back. We did not receive a fresh set of cutlery when the steak was served after our appetizer dishes and cutlery were taken away, which made the steak even more cold. We also informed the staff that it was our friend's birthday, and they said they would bring out a dessert, but that did not happen. The server that poured our water was extremely attentive and kind. Overall, a good restaurant with a nice ambience filled with cool artwork and furniture, especially in the main restaurant outside of the steak room and in the waiting area.

Myself and my wife had a wonderful dinner! Service was excellent, server helped with dish selection.Started with the French baguette, onion soup and a charcuterie board. For the main dish, gnocchi and the NY steak. All dishes were absolutely delicious! The steak was done Medium Rare to perfection. For dessert we had the profiteroles.Highly recommend visiting, we will definitely be coming back.
