Rumor mill says they are closing??!?!?! I've been meaning to try to get on the wall of fame, but may have missed my chance! Tasty hot dogs for a little bit too much, but a great once a month cheat on fatkidfriday

Really only come here for hot dogs, but don't expect much from the rest of the menu. I got the wings and this is the 3rd time i've ordered chicken here and it's prepared terribly. BBQ wings had very little sauce and the wings were extremely dry and overcooked. This last time it was so dry i had to ask if it was fresh chicken because they tasted freezer burnt and over fried. Once could be a mistake, 3 times is not knowing how to prepare chicken. The burgers are OK, but for the price I wouldn't say worth the spend. Hot Dogs are their saving grace. Also, the website menu and pricing advertised is false. If you had any expectations before order after looking at their website, expect to pay $3 more per item when you get there.

The food was generally decent thought I didn't like the flavors much. That could definitely be on me due to the things I picked. I can't fault the place for that.

Delicious, generous portion of sauces, bun toasted to perfection. Get your hot dog here!

At one point these were the best hot dogs in Boston. Now the buns are smaller, dry and burnt. The hotdog that was once plump, is now shriveled up. This is the kind of hot dog that you buy for $1 or $2 on the street after a Sox game. Definitely not worth $6.

I ate here before years ago and hated it, but wanted to check the place out again since it's been a long time and I forgot why I hated it. The decor is, whatever- they're trying to integrate American muscle cars and small-town diners. It doesn't look natural and feels overly contrived. I ordered the "Hot Dog Combo", which at approx. $14.50 after taxes was greatly overpriced for a hot dog, fries, and tiny drink. Before I dug in, I went to eat the meal at the counter and was informed that the dining area was closed. The employee did not inform me of this before I ordered, and I thought that the reason why the chairs were moronically laid across the seating booths was that they were cleaning up the place. Every other establishment in Boston has opened up their dining areas, but not Spike's because apparently they know more than the CDC or the city and state government. The hot dog itself is pork-based and boiled, not grilled, which gives them a nasty aftertaste compared to all-beef grilled hot dogs. It had none of the greasy, salty, juiciness required in S rank hot dogs. The bun they use is essentially a sandwich roll cut in half and toasted. It was far too large for the hot dog and the large bun-to-sausage ratio made the hot dog taste dry. They didn't even butter it. The curly fries were the best thing about the meal but still inferior compared to McDonald's fries, which I use as my gold standard for fries. The drink was about 75% of the size of any small drink at any other restaurant and Pepsi brand, which screams "I AM CHEAP!". They're really squeezing every penny of profit they can using inferior ingredients from the hot dog to the drinks.Spike's is an utter disgrace compared to legendary hot dog joints like Pink's, Varsity's, or Papaya King. It's empty all the time, I have no clue how they stay in business. It's too expensive, they use inferior ingredients, and the combo isn't a deal in any sense.

Our date night experience was so filling. WoW!! The options were excitingly overwhelming. The veggie dog and veggie burger with all the toppings were phenomenal! The lemonade was the icing on the cake... yummm!

The one star is not for the food, it is for the fact that while every other eatery in the area has indoor dining Spike's is still take-out or delivery only. Lazy.

Been eating here for probably over 15 years at this point. Excellent vegan/vegetarian options. Amazing lemonade. Guaranteed good food, at a good price, and always come out quickly. Staff is always friendly/helpful too, can’t go wrong! Best hot dogs in New England!

The fries and the soda were horrible but the chili cheddar dog slapped.Don’t bother with the meal just get a dog.Ps why wasn’t there spice on the curly fries?

Hot Dogs aren’t bad, but the burgers and fries were painfully mediocre. The patty was NOT cooked fresh. Bacon was tasteless. Burger was drowned in mayo. It’s unfortunate to say the best part of my burger combo has been the small soda (I’ve gotten this more than once).

Very good. We each made a custom dog. Mozzarella sticks were pretty good... cheese fries were decent.

Great food with so many options to choose from!! The interior of the restaurant is also perfectly decorated!

I would give a 5 for just the fries. Definitely the best I’ve had in the area and the hot dog was great too! I’m not a big fan of hotdogs but the meat didn’t taste low quality and that’s a big plus

Good prices, good quality, very helpful and friendly staff. Obviously the hot dogs are good but don't overlook the chicken sandwiches, wings/tenders, etc., they're fantastic.
