Really fun and tasty dinner! I sat at the row of moving bar stools which were a unique and comfortable place to sit, but while I was there I observed one person fall off a stool and a second person almost fell! So be careful on the moving bar stools or get a table if anyone in your group may be unsteady on a chair without a back! The arancini and the baccala mantecato were perfect small bites for two and the pasta dishes were well seasoned and so delicious! The negroni had a tasty apple flavor and the Venetian Spritz cocktail was also tasty, not as sweet as I would usually expect for an Aperol spritz.

This place had been recommended by several coworkers so I knew I had to check it out. I tried the sunchoke risotto (with meyer lemon, mustard greens, and robiola) which was very comforting and rich. The sunchoke chips on top gave it a great balance of textures. I also tried the stuffed paccheri with octopus, fennel, and tomato, which was also delicious and definitely on the lighter side compared to the risotto. I was lucky to snag some seats at the bar as a walk-in, but the restaurant did fill fast even on weekday nights so I would recommend reservations.

I have tried it 3 or 4 times, the food was a disappointment each time, not prepared well, not seasoned well or just no bueno. I might try one more time in case the chefs have changed, but not anytime soon.

Service is excellent: informative and friendly. The food is decent but there are misses. I'll list the items in the order we ate them. The prosciutto and focaccia was good but that's hard to mess up.The meatballs were tiny (think IKEA) and pretty dry. Also not particularly soft. The arancini were entirely bland and fell apart as we picked them up.The snap peas were excellent with the Parmesan providing some savory to the snap peas' sweetness. This was our favorite. The salsify crab was probably the most avant garde thing we ordered that night. The crab was succulent but I wish it had a little less lemon. The chunks were so big that every time you ate one, it overwhelmed everything else in the bite. The gnocchi was melt in the mouth and the included sausage was good. The sunchoke risotto was earthy and had a good amount of mustard greens that tasted delightful.

Really great food. The atmosphere/decor is okay but I wouldn’t call it cozy, a bit more fancy than I was expecting which is totally okay. Service was a little slow but it was very busy so of course that’s understandable too. The tiramisu is so good and it’s HUGE, hand next to it for comparison haha!

I've never had a great expert SRV. It's been fine. The food is just fine. The service is fine. I've had more disappointing service at the bar as it seemed like the bartenders were annoyed to be asked questions about cocktails and such each time I've been there. I guess my overall impression of SRV is always MEH. It's not a place that I'd seek out to go but instead might grab a drink there if I'm having dinner some other place nearby.

One of the best restaurants in Boston, in my opinion. Not only is the food superb, the staff takes hospitality to another level. We have dined here numerous times and each time our experience was elevated by the thoughtfulness, passion, and good conversation with the servers and bar tenders. Keep doing what you're doing.

Delicious food and nice people, but the portion sizes are insane. $8 for 2 1x1 square inch bread pieces with some veggies? Get outta here.

Food is fine, certainly not impressive at this price point. Came here on a recommendation of a friend. Very small menu, very pricey given small portion size.Had the arancini: bland very strong fried flavor, polpette (very salty), and polenta (odd texture and meat was fairly tough). Overall just pricey with small portions and mediocre food.I wouldn’t be back.Nice atmosphere.

A very well run restaurant! All the employees I encountered were welcoming and friendly. (Thanks to the hostess for charging my phone). The bartenders were great, made good drinks and good conversation. I only had the meatballs and cured meat small plates. Both were delicious.Good drinks, food and humans.I’ll be back!

SRV is a solid spot for dinner if you're in the South End area! We started off with delicious mocktails and the arancini. The arancini was good but definitely a small bite for two people. Our dinner consisted of the squid ink risotto and NY strip steak which were both delicious! Highly recommend ordering a risotto for dinner. Definitely save room for dessert because the apple tart we ordered was great. All our plates came out quick and our waiter was super attentive. Since we snagged a reservation a bit late, we had to take the counter spots which were a little awkward. If possible try to plan ahead of time so you can get a reservation at a table! Overall had a great experience and would definitely recommend.

Food is delicious but it’s super expensive and the portions are tiny. Like literally three bites per main

Decent food but expensive and not good enough to justify the price point

I went to SRV in Boston yesterday and was thoroughly impressed by their level of professionalism and thoughtfulness. Our server, Manuel, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and after hearing about our food allergies and sensitivity, double checked with the chef, came back to us with a marked menu, and gave us plenty of time to decide what to order. Every single time someone brought a dish to the table they reiterated that certain ingredients were removed or set to the side. I have never felt so accommodated. The dishes are creative and delicious too. Highly recommend checking it out!! My favorite was the earl grey lavender honeycomb ice cream. They really nailed it!!
