My recent visit to Sullivan's Public House in Charlestown unfortunately fell far short of expectations. Our decision to try Sullivan's after finding no room next door quickly turned regrettable due to a series of disappointing interactions and service issues. The main issue began with the main bartender, a bearded individual who we believe was named Billy or Mike. Despite the presence of multiple open tables, he informed us that "the bar is at capacity," compelling half of our party to wait outside, which was both puzzling and disheartening. The situation was further exacerbated when we attempted to place a food order, only to have the same bartender outright deny our request. This refusal was not only unexpected but also contrary to the welcoming atmosphere we hoped to find. It was only after finding another staff member, a woman who was more accommodating, that we were able to order. However, the frustration didn't end there. After our order was finally accepted, the service was remarkably slow, taking an entire hour for just a serving of wings and tater tots to be served. For a pub known for its casual fare, this delay was unacceptable and significantly detracted from our experience.Reflecting on the visit, I cannot recommend Sullivan's Public House. The unwelcoming attitude from the staff, particularly the denial of our food order by the bearded bartender, coupled with the excessive wait time for basic appetizers, left a lasting negative impression. It's disappointing, as we had hoped for a much more enjoyable outing.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this pub for dinner on a Saturday night. Despite the busy evening, we were seated promptly. The atmosphere was just right - not too noisy, allowing us to have a peaceful conversation. The pub has a decent amount of seating, considering its size. The staff were friendly, laid back, and added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, it was a no-fuss, enjoyable dining experience. We’d definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area.

Overall great experience. The Cesar salad was delicious. I also ordered chicken tenders which were okay. Service was great, place was fairly empty but I could see it being fun.

Went here to watch a Bruins game. The atmosphere was pretty good. Mostly guys and girls watching sports and imbibing. Service was good. Only tried nachos. They were good but very small serving. Personal sized I'd call them.

To be so frank, we ubered to the wrong area and were too hungry to leave. Sullivan's is a lovely neighborhood pub with neighborhood pub food. The vegetarian options were limited, but present. The staff were LOVELY; you could tell that they've been around the block and are still happy to see you. The vibes are typical pub. Stop in if there's a game!

Small pub that seems to be a locals hangout (Sully's). Very friendly staff that liked a conversation. Reasonable prices. Wife and I shared a basket of french fries that came with a delicious 'Irish' curry dipping sauce. Other food we saw served looked good too. Nice spot for a couple of pints after a good walk.

Went here for a casual, quick bite and was not expecting to be absolutely blown away by the delicious food. Greeted by friendly staff behind the bar. Menu is simple, classic bar/pub food. I ordered the Caesar with chicken (amazing in every way) and my boyfriend ordered the fried chicken sandwich with tots (INCREDIBLE). These tots have redefined what I thought tater tots once were. They were crispy, light, and I could've eaten a million of them. Sullivan's: come for the casual pub vibe, stay for the incredible food, and come back for the warm and friendly service. Cannot recommend enough.

It's a new twist on the old Sullivan's. A great local haunt to meet with friends and share a cocktail/beer, have a great burger, and watch a Bruins/Sox/Celtics/Patriots game. The staff is very engaging and helpful.

Good food. Great service. This place definitely has its regulars, which gives it "Cheers" vibes.Little to no cell service, which is great if you're sick of your SO being on their phone when they should be spending time with you! LolCan get pretty loud when full of people.
