This place had me PERPLEXED! I recently had the opportunity to dine at Taco Mex and wanted to share my detailed review. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The rice, which I had hoped would be flavorful and freshly made, tasted as if it had been prepared from a boxed mix. This was quite disappointing, as I believe that well prepared rice is a crucial component of any Mexican dish. Moving on to the overall food quality, I found it to be below par. The dishes lacked the authentic flavors that I had anticipated, leaving me somewhat unsatisfied. Additionally, the flavored margaritas, which I had hoped would be a refreshing and enjoyable accompaniment to my meal, tasted more like diluted juice than a well crafted cocktail. The service at Taco Mex unfortunately left much to be desired. The wait times were considerable, and it felt as though the staff was overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with the demands of the restaurant. One notable incident was when I was served a warm and watered-down Jack and Coke, which was far from the refreshing beverage I had anticipated. Even the Coca Cola and the water seemed to lack the expected quality. However, amidst these disappointments, there was one shining moment of culinary delight. The chicharron, a traditional dish that I had ordered, was absolutely delicious and truly hit the spot. It showcased the potential for excellence that I had hoped to experience throughout my meal. In summary, my visit to Taco Mex was met with mixed feelings. While the chicharron was a standout dish that I thoroughly enjoyed, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. I would recommend that the restaurant focuses on improving the quality of their dishes, refining their beverage offerings, and ensuring efficient and attentive service.

The food is good and the place is good, although a little small and it doesn't seem very Mexican to me, but it's fine.

I have been to this restaurant several times, the food is not bad but last Saturday I was with my two friends and when paying the bill we realized that they automatically charged the tip, it seems to me that it is not right, because I understand that they can charge when there are more than 5 or 6 people.I asked the waitress why they had done that and what she told me was that the system does it automatically.Well, the truth is I didn't like that they did that.

Affordable, attentive servers and great food. We are here visiting from Houston and this place is quite tasty. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.
Go for: A welcoming refuge with hearty portions of Central and South American dishes.Avoid if: You're looking for a personalized, attentive dining experience.Something surprising: The plantain and pork belly come with most entrees.Reservation needed? No, but you'll probably have to wait for a table at peak meal times.Overall . It's a cool hole-in-the-wall spot and they often open the windows in the summertime, which is nice. The portions were great but the food definitely seemed mass-produced, and the service was mediocre at best.Value for Price: 4Sanitation: 3Food Quality: 3Menu Precision: 2Service Quality: 2Timing: 4Decor: 3Access: 4—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again
