I rarely write negative reviews unless I have had a really bad experience. Great view, spacious rooms. I am not sure where people find friendly staff here. We found the staff to be rude and lacking hospitality you'd expect even at 3-star hotels. The staff, particularly in the breakfast and evening dining areas had no sense of preserving customers' respect or privacy. I went downstairs to speak to the front desk person about the yelling and suspicious stares from the staff. The person brushed off the issue and apologized. Didn't even attempt to make up for the mishap. You might even see a response to this review from their staff with canned response. However, don't expect them to step up to a 5-star service level and try to amend. We were charged 5-star prices and resort fees and received less than 2-star service and hospitality. Buyer beware.

My husband and I have stayed at many hotels in the Boston area over the years.We are consistently pleased with the outstanding customer service at Taj Boston. The staff are welcoming and helpful. It is always a nice touch when we receive a text asking if there is anything else they can do to make our stay perfect. On special occasions, we arrive to our room to find delectable, complimentary treats. The location is superb; situated across from Boston Gardens, Commons, restaurants, world class shopping, art museums and the theatre district. The rooms are clean, lovely and boast of old world charm. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Taj Boston.

No restaurant on site. Could not reach the valet service, made several attempts. They say they will be happy to deliver any fis you have ordered to your room... if you want to wait 20 extra minutes for security to come....

The hotel is of course lovely and the room itself was very nice and comfortable. My only issue was the courtyard view I was stuck with, which was basically a view of the brick walls. I guess someone has to get them and this time it was me. It took away a great deal from my stay and was almost claustrophobic.

I am absolutely in love with this place. I really loved the room. The place is very well maintained and is very clean. The staff gives their best to make you feel like home. Good room, late check out. The service from the staff was excellent. I'll make sure to stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Classic Boston bar, quiet most nights. Attentive bartenders, a little dear, but you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend if you want to get a drink with someone over a conversation and catch up.
Their website says: "The erstwhile Cigar Lounge is now the most popular evening venue in Boston" After my small group finished at a high-end steak house, we wanted to enjoy a fine scotch and cigar on a cold Boston night. We were turned away. Apparently four well-dressed white dudes in their 30s aren't welcome. After a long cold walk to seek out this particular establishment, we had to find a drink elsewhere.

Old world charm, old world drinks perfected to the view of the rich and famous (or about to be) near the Boston common gardens. About 20% - 30% more for drinks compared to LaVoile but you are paying for service, location, experience and views. They never disappoint and treat you like royalty. It's the Taj after all.
