Planned a company dinner for a group of 40 here. Ben was wonderful to work with in planning, but unfortunately was not present on the night of our event. Apparently they were caught the week prior to our event serving minors, so when a member of our party was carded and only had a photo of her ID, they refused to serve her. We wish we were given a heads up that the Kinsale would be so strict as a result of recent issues with the law, but we get that they get to do this at their own discretion. The waitress was understandably flustered, but the issue was blown way out of proportion when escalated to the ownership. The owner continued to pop into the room, and before any food was served, accused the woman of sneaking alcohol from a coworker's drink and kicked her out of a company party, which she vehemently denied. This made for an embarrassing scene anyone would've wanted to avoid. We ended up getting an Uber home TO PROVIDENCE for her, but later when we asked to see the camera footage from that area, it was proven that she had never taken a sip, and that the owner was just targeting her and looking for an excuse to ask her to leave. It does not help the situation that the victim of this situation is black, was probably the 10th person to order a drink, and the only person to be ID'd up to that point. The owner repeatedly referred to her as a girl and compared her to his three children, to which I had to remind him that she's a woman at a work event, not a child. I'm incredibly disappointed in the Kinsale, and will never be back. I just moved across the street from the Asgard and will go ahead and avoid that spot as well if it means putting money into this guy's pocket. There are a million other places to get mediocre irish food and frozen cheesecake. Edit: I've worked in the service industry for most of my life, I've owned and managed bars, and there was never any point where I was "adamant" you make an exception. Also, despite your statement to the contrary, you obviously had made exceptions in the past - hence why you were getting fined by liquor commission for serving minors. Again, I wished you'd given us a heads up since it is out of the ordinary to be ID'd at a work event. I for one was not ID'd that night, and neither was anyone else until AFTER this situation had come about and we'd pointed it out that it was weird how you only ID'd the black girl. Anyway, your whole statement doesn't line up with facts. "She was sharing a drink with her coworker!" - um ew, no she wasn't. They barely know each other, work in two different departments in two different states, and this was around the beginning of the Coronavirus breakout, so we were even more anxious about germs, etc. Again, when we'd asked someone to review the footage at the end of the meal, we were told that we should "continue to trust" the individual in question, and received an apology on your behalf. So what it looks like from here is that you literally made up a reason to throw a black woman out of your restaurant, then tried to publicly feed into some kind of angry black woman stereotype in your response to criticism, and your employees are embarrassed by your behavior. Do better.

its as irish as McDonalds, youll not get nothing Irish in here only Guinness,no champ, no mash, no spuds, no tay, just a regular american diner with the name Irish on the door.

The only thing that made this place worthwhile was the Kinsale Coffee and they took that off the menu. Top that off with homophobic bar staff, racist management, and bland food. Of all the places we lost over the pandemic, this is the last place anyone was asking to have a comeback.

I like the kinsale whenever I can get there, the DJ Scooby is awesome and he's a fun guy to be around! The only concern I have I'm a disabled guy and I tried to sit on a bar stool on a floor and it moved and I fell on the floor it surprised me and it surprised Scooby they need to do better in that area somebody could get hurt! But those aren't the only chairs or tables around there great sound system good selection of songs and Scooby is fun to be around he makes you feel welcome and special there and the crowds when they're there really get into the singers! I had one meal there I can't remember what it was but it was pretty good! Highly recommend this place! If your first time singer I guarantee you the DJ will make you feel welcome and try to help you to pick out a song that you might be comfortable with singing your first time out! I was asked to do duets there as well and my friend and I when we sang there one time a guy actually gave us $20 sitting at the bar because he liked our song that much and wanted to make sure we ate something I thought that was very cool! I joked around with my friend his name is Kevin and I said who says they don't pay you here? ??
