I wish I read all the rotten reviews. Be careful. Be prepared. Better go somewhere else. I've tried a few times here lately. Long time coming, this is the last time, the food is awful. The food is prepared awful and now of course the portions are awful. I order a large roast beef sandwich toasted and crispy fries "please". $21.00. Drive away, find a spot to stop and eat, Fn tiny cold sandwich and a pile of soggy cold french fries. Soggy uncooked potatoes. It's not brain surgery. If you give them simple instructions, prepare the food correctly. Now I'm hungry and I'm late and I have to work.

Overpriced food. This place has the most generic Caucasian food masquerading under the "italian" name. Small portions of bland food at premium price. Once all the wealthy older people from West Roxbury die, Tony's will go under.

First, my wife and I have been eating at Tony's for well over 30 years. It's always been one of "our restaurants" for Italian. We ate there the other night and the food is still good. There are other changes that really offend me. The big thing that's different is how they've started to nickel and dime the customers. For example, ask for a second bread basket, you'll get charged for it. Salads no longer come with the meals. Order a salad and you'll be charged for it. I ordered a Coke, and got two refills. My bill reflected two glasses of Coke. I inquired what that was about and the waitress explained that now you get one free refill, then after that you pay for every glass. She suggested going back to water after the second glass. By the way, this especially galls me. Everyone knows that to sell a glass of Coke literally costs pennies. I don't mind paying $2.79 a glass but for soft drinks it's always been unlimited refills. After all, it's not like beer, soda refills cost almost nothing. Oh, and all the menus have a note on them saying that all prices have gone up $2.00. After all this time, I'm not sure how I feel about going back.

I just got a tuna sub to go. Oh, I was celebrating my new used car and back to car payments monthly, decided to sit down in restaurant. Got chicken piccata, so yummy! Best I ever had! Service was unhurried! Really enjoyed the meal!

Outrageously Overpriced Takeout. This was once our go-to takeout until they raised their prices obscenely as well as adding fees for ordering online. We probably ordered at least once a week until I noticed that on top of the 4$ delivery charge (expected,) we are now also being charged a 2$ online ordering fee as if Tony's was now using a 3rd party delivery service (same guy as usual.) One of our classic orders was chicken parm with a side of garlic bread. In October of 2023, the garlic bread cost 4.09 with the 21.99$ entree. Mind you, the garlic bread is a simply sub roll slathered in butter and garlic. It's not a specialty baked bread. In December of 2023, that garlic sub roll costs over 7 dollars. Highway robbery. Elio has gotten too big for his britches and we're not paying for new ones.So because of the price increases, we will no longer be regular or even infrequent patrons of Tony's and it's also why I can't recommend the place. The food just doesn't justify the prices. It's sad.
