We enjoyed a beautiful night out in Boston and ended up eating at Vee Vee (luckily) as walk-ins. They gave us a seat by the door, which was appreciated and the service to the food was hitting on all marks.The one thing I hold back from giving a 5 star review on is that we were dying of heat -- it felt like we were eating in a sauna. I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. Either way, I was sweating throughout the entire dinner service and so was my fiancée.

VeeVee always delivers. Their valentines (Vee day) specials all looked great and we both had the oyster stew which had a rich true seafood base broth and lots of plump oysters. The scallops which similarly generous and with a great root puree and bright salsa verde. With that rich dinner the dessert platter was enjoyed at home (and again the next day!).

the perfect valentine dinner, in every way. everything from the wine advice to the plate of 4 small desserts, all of which were my faves. liver paté app had to be the best app that night. i wasn't really that keen on liver but wanted to try something different. i was blown away. i thought it would be good; it was superb! vee vee is a cool smaller place with a great ambiance. exceptional food. and romantic. just go there. you'll love it

Wonderful experience. Hostess was lovely. First time in. Food was great. Fresh, creative, nicely presented and tasty! Our party had the halibut, steak, chicken and pasta— all EXCELLENT! Informed of birthday and was presented with delicious gingerbread cake. So good!

We love that Vee Vee is still the same, reliable, accessible place in JP that it's been for years. It did not disappoint this time, though the steak was a little chewy, and the vibe a little abrupt and rushed. We were delighted to be seated at the window table, away from most of the chatter of a small restaurant, a special consideration I had asked...and graciously received. We will be back soon!

Vee Vee never disappoints. My husband and I decided to celebrate our 15th anniversary there because it holds a special place for us. The food was top-notch (we had the fried oysters, and amazing winter salad with radishes, pomegranate, and apples, guilty pleasure potato chips and onion dip, and halibut fritters), but perhaps even more than the food was the incredible thoughtfulness and attention they gave to our special day. Can you tell we're biased? Of course! Thank you, Vee Vee, for making our special day even more special!
Went last night to celebrate my partner's birthday, and we had a wonderful time! We had the winter salad, chicken hunter's stew, roasted halibut, and smoked halibut croquettes, and everything was delicious. The potatoes in the stew were a bit bland, that would be my only critique. The service was amazing as well, and it's a very cozy space. Very much recommended, and we'll certainly be back!

Just had a wonderful meal at one of our favorite restaurants in JP/Boston. Our server was among the most pleasant and engaging servers we have ever experienced. Although I regularly note on reservations that my spouse has a food allergy, I don't ever recall a server being more prepared to address the issue, without any further warnings from us about it, and more expertly advise what might be ordered. The food was perfect and the setting is warm and inviting. Five stars doesn't quite do it.

Our only complaint, which is relatively minor, is that the pacing of the meal was a bit off ... our first two courses were almost rushed out--app came out almost immediately after we ordered; the meal didn't feel leisurely--but then we were left alone for almost too long at the end of the meal.

Cozy and warm on the night before the rain/snow. Started with the homemade onion dip and chips and the smoked halibut croquettes. Entrees were the mushroom ravioli and the hunter's chicken stew--a special. Excellent wine and draft IPA to accompany. VeeVee consistently serves delicious food and its personable servers add to the enjoyment.

I love Vee Vee and am thrilled they continue to be excellent in every way. Our party of four arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation and they graciously accommodated us. Everything all four of us ordered was outstanding. Ran into a friend there who I had told last year about Vee Vee and she and her husband are now also happy regulars. Can't say enough about how much I appreciate the reliable excellence of this restaurant.
