Atmosphere much improved since our last visit. The service was outstanding. I got the small farmers salad with salmon...lots of arugula with few toppings, but the salmon was great. Service was exceptional, and I would recommend waterline to friends.

Worst dining experience of my life! We decided to grab breakfast here because it was close and highly rated. Biggest mistake I’ve made in a long time. They charge 32 dollars per person for a “breakfast buffet”. It was akin to a continental breakfast at a motel 6 - seriously. Cold eggs, inedible sausage and repugnant, undrinkable coffee. Walked away feeling like we had gotten mugged. I ate a mediocre bagel with cream cheese and left 80 dollars poorer. I’d rather light four 20 dollar bills on fire than do that again.

This hotel spot is solid, good drinks, good food great service. Mike the bartender is an old school Boston guy and great for a local tip. The manager and staff are friendly and accommodating and remember guests even if there is weeks between stays. Food was excellent in flavor and always a filling portion, certainly worth a stop if staying in Long Wharf.

W has a large family celebration and chose the Waterline based on the location and the details listed on Open Table, specifically that parking was available and validated for those arriving with a toddler and an infant. We called while driving there in the turnpike to verify the address for parking. You can't reach the restaurant directly but the woman at the hotel front desk told us that parking was not validated for this restaurant and advised us to park at the aquarium to save ourselves from paying extremely high hourly rates at the Marriott. That was the only problem we had with our experience. The staff were all welcoming and accommodating and the food, the ambiance, and the service were all very good. When we were paying our bill, I mentioned the confusion about the parking validation and he asked if he could bring our parking ticket to his manager. She came out to speak with us and apologized for the misinformation we received She couldn't validate the parking for the other garage but managed to give us a discount. Based on the positive aspects of our visit would definitely consider returning to the restaurant if we go into Boston again.

I did a previous review but Yelp told me to take it down for an inexplicable reason .SOOOO, I went yesterday and my feelings have not changed. The service is horrible. I was waited on by a guy who I thought I was bothering him. He was disrespectful when I asked for more coffee ("I'll get it as soon as I can")--he arrived 8 minutes later. The food was okay. Nothing major. I did find that it was not really hot but really: The terrible service is the reason I'm making this review so strident. This place should be a gold mine with EXCELLENT staff. I'd go as a last resort.

I am visiting from out of state and found this restaurant because I had a tour at 10 the menu online is NOT the menu they offer. The food was not great and the service sucked they did not ask how we wanted our steak done they kept pushing dessert after we told them no and when we mentioned that the food was not the same as online they didn’t care and the food wasn’t cooked all the way the glass I had was dirty. Very overpriced for not having a variety of food and the again the service was not good they cleaned the table while we were still sitting at it never again do not come to the waterline and then they don’t tell you they are in the hotel and there is no phone number to call. The restaurant down the street didn’t even know about the restaurant

It's a hit or miss at this restaurant with the food. We shared the characterrie platter. The prosciutto and salami had a old stale taste. I also order for take out a bowl of calm chowder. Went to my room and there was no spoon or napkin and no crackers. Had to go back to get. I ordered takeout, the Caesar salad on the that night and two other days. The first night I waited 50 for my salad and that clam chowder. The salad was delicious. The second night I waited 45 mins for the same salad only and sardines were put on top. I like sardines but I was never asked if I wanted it or not. They tasted terrible. I had to remove them. Then third day I preordered the salad only. I order from the bar area. I told him I would pick up in 1hour please have it ready behind the bar and I would pick it up. I came back 1 hour. The salad was not ready and had to wait another 15 mins. I think the wait staff needs to inform their coworkers what is going on. Because a different guy was on bar duty. Also the inconsistency of the same item ordered. The wait staff is very pleasant. They greet you accordingly with water and the menu. But you order, wait forever and some of the food items should be top notch. This hotel also has a resort fee. So I would have hoped they have top notch food. The restaurant is clean and good music and drinks in the bar area. Also the breakfast bar is wonderful.

we were on vacation and took the ferry from Salem to Boston, so this was a convenient stop for breakfast before heading out for a Whale tour. The buffet was fine, but the waiter should also recommend that they have a menu. The place was very nice and clean

4 of us dined on 3 modest appetizer dishes and 2 drinks; bill was >$200. Noise level very high. Servers were kind but service slow. If staying at hotel it is convenient but not a standalone destination

Our table overlooked the water. We went twice and each time the food came out delicious. The service by Peter and Elmer made the experience great with their service and recommendations. We stayed awhile and enjoyed conversations. It was quiet at lunch but busy at dinner.

I made reservations via opentable. That were cancelled without reason. I remade the reservations. However when we arrived the place was empty. We seated ourselves. If I could give a zero I would have. I choose the restaurant based on the menu that i saw on Google. When we party arrived the menu was completely different we were told Google would not respond to their request to remove the fake menu, which is very deciving to customers. Food was horrible. I was very upset about the lack of choices. Don't waste your money going here, even the cocktails were mediocre. We traveled quite a distance to be deceived by the menu it ruined the our Father's Day Experience ??
