Basic Chinese restaurant as far atmosphere... however I ordered the most basic items- fried chicken wings and wonton soup- the soup was BLAND AF, the wonton were over cooked and mushy...the reason I am actually reviewing and I will never go back is because the most faithful item on any Chinese food menu is the wings- Bland, Bland, bland. Not flavorless, just bland and boring.

My new favorite takeout Chinese spot in Braintree. I don't expect a lot from American Chinese food- I need it to satisfy a craving. The General Gaos was perfectly done. Scallion pancakes were not burnt wafers. Crab Rangoons had decent amount of filling. Finally, the hot and sour was nicely balanced.

I couldn't rate the atmosphere, it's a take out place. But I have been going here for years. The food is amazing, you walk in and see the kitchen, it's immaculate. Also when I go in they always remember I like extra sweet and sour sauce. It's a hidden gem in Braintree.

There is nothing “new” about this place. The food is still just average. The reason for the one star is the 2 folks that run the place have the personalities of a grape!! I’m all for supporting a local business, but now I know why I haven’t been there for a while. Woman acts like she is above you and guy has no expressions at all, and has been caught with his finger in his nose. This was my last time giving them a chance. Go somewhere else people!

First and last time ordering there. Delivery driver is extremely disrespectful, did not want to deliver my food to my door. I was ready to tip him $15 for simply walking in and bringing my food. He decided to be disrespectful for absolutely no reason and told me to no order there because he did not want to get out his car. I called the location and they seem to not care. Food is not all that good either. This ain’t how you run a business.

All you gourmands can say what you will, but where are you going to find this much delicious food for under $20? Inquiring minds want to know. When it comes to cheap eats, I prefer Chinese over other carbs because I can get vegetables with my food and still pretend like I'm being healthy. There's one of these places in every decently sized town and New Mei Garden is no exception: unassuming, plainly decorated with a sign straight out of the 90's? I'm there. After an Uber Eats fiasco where the delivery drivers played hot potato with my order on a rainy night--I recently moved to Braintree and apparently delivery from a restaurant 4.5 miles away is a no-go--I picked up the phone and called for pickup. Things were dire. I was hangry. This hit the spot. I got the hot and sour soup and the beef with green beans and pork fried rice combo platter. It was fast and fresh; the green beans were nice and crunchy and the fried rice had that wok hei flavor I can never get in my homemade version. I picked up within ten minutes of placing the order. Be advised that there is a $15 minimum if you're paying with a credit card.

Food was mediocre at best. Spring rolls and crab rangoons were over cooked and Shrimp Pad Thai was not even close to what it should be. Definitely would not order here again.
