Best noodles! And so many gluten free options.

I have literally been dining at this place at least once per week for the past 3 months. I have been always satisfied with their food and staffs, everything went great and I nearly tried everything on their menu. Until today, I was paying for my meal, then I realized this old male chef kept standing behind me. told him I was about to type my security code since I did not bring my wallet so I have to type my credit card info. I asked him to stop standing behind me and keep some distance since after I turned around, I saw he was directly looking at the screen. What he said was a shock. He told me to just hide it from him and covered the screen with my hand. I was not so sure but I heard him cursing me in Cantonese afterward cause I was speaking mandarin to him. I really did run out of word for such a rude and annoying service provider that I have never met in my whole life. If you can let this happen ever again, I would better suggest you to close this shop. Seriously. I am making g this stamens that I never fabricate a single piece of what happened today. So you need some more work to do definitely to stop losing regular customers.

3.5 - South of the Clouds serves comforting chinese soups and sides. The rice noodle soup in clay pot had a really nice broth flavor, but the uncooked spam was a little off-putting (wish they added more of the braised beef instead). The bean curd appetizer tasted good but only when dipped in the chili oil. The food is decent but quite expensive for what you actually get. Our server was really nice though! She left a cute note and made sure we were taken care of.

It’s good, although not amazing. The broth is OK.

Lots of available street parking. Food came out really fast. The noodles are super soft and soup is flavorful. I got the braised beef noodle soup and the beef is extremely tender and packed with flavor as well. It was really hot inside the restaurant. The price was a little steep for the quality of the food, hence the rating. I also got the tofu and it was cold and flavorless unless you drench it in the chili oil sauce. The waitress was really attentive and always came to fill our cup for water and bring extra napkins. She was so cute! She wrote a cute little note on our bill :)

I have found little meat pieces in my vegetarian fried rice noodles. A very unpleasant experience.

A go-to spot if you're looking for a good, authentic, noodle soup with the right amount of spiciness and flavor! The atmosphere as you walk into the restaurant should be a good indicator to the quality of the food, and this place aces that as well.

This food is so good it made me swoon like a cartoon character after the first bite. I can't put my finger on how to describe the taste of the gravy noodles, my go-to, but it's just impeccable. Add to this the best small-shop atmosphere and it's just a total home run. Go here; six stars.Parking: Street parkingWheelchair accessibility: Front door is up a step, close quarters; just an outdated building

For a quick Friday dinner, my friends and I decided to get some rice noodle soup at South of the Clouds. Arriving just before 7pm, we received seating immediately, placed our orders, and received food promptly. I ordered the rice noodle soup in clay pot / 砂锅米线 ($17.25), described in the menu as "signature rice noodle cooked in clay pot with specialbroth topped with braised pork, quail egg, & assorted handpicked vegetables). The portion size seemed reasonable, and the ground beef seemed well-marinated. The marinade mixed into the broth for a decent contrast of savory flavors. However, the bowl had sat for a bit before serving, rendering the rice noodles slightly soggy and the broth warm but not hot.I also have a personal pet peeve with soup served in stoneware or earthenware - it should arrive piping hot, just off boil. Otherwise, using stone/earthenware is moot.

Excellent Yunnan rice noodle restaurant in Brighton. The rice noodle dishes all come with lots of toppings, but you can always add more. Braised beef rice noodle soup has a rich, flavorful broth, but not heavy.Rice noodles with gravy has cubed stewed meat sauce, incredibly flavorful. Pickled veggies had a salty and tangy flavor, very refreshing.Cold dishes were also well seasoned with traditional Yunnan spices. The owner also opened Yunnan Kitchen in Back Bay, another excellent restaurant.

A friend and I walked in on Monday for lunch. It wasn't that busy. We were sat down immediately. EXPERIENCEThe service was really impressive. Especially for a small mom and pop asian noodle place. I suppose it wasn't that busy, but the sever was super attentive. She brought us extra napkins and water before we even knew we needed it, and we needed it since the food was kind of spicy. Also, random note, they were playing Taylor Swift, the album, the entire time we were there, and I enjoyed that very much.FOOD(5/5) Braised Beef Rice Noodle Soup - this has three spice label on the menu, the highest was six spice. I thought I could handle it. While it was spicy, I managed, I overall still enjoyed the experience, but it was definitely noticeable. I sniffled and gulped water. Still delicious though. The noodles were well cooked and I was surprised how much I enjoyed them as I don't normally love rice noodles because the can be overcooked easily. The bokchoy was a nice edition, gives a break from the spice. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful. Highly recommend if you can take a bit of heat.OVERVIEWThis place was quite affordable. Really delicious and flavorful, but beware the spice! Amazing service. Good tunes. I want to try more of their dishes in the future. I highly suggest you come here! Its a good causal spot for a fast meal, or to sit down and catch up with friends. Try it for yourself!

The noodles here are so delicious, everything is fresh and also fast. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a cozy , very clean space. Parking behind the building in a municipal lot. Everything we got was outstanding. Can't wait to go back, I'm dreaming of those noodles.

Beef noodle soup was very good . Fresh, delicious noodles, well seasoned and tender beef, fresh bok choy and spring onion. Pretty standard no frilled service. Large portion.
