“I mostly stick to take out Banh Mi since every single one has been consistently excellent (though I couldn't handle the spiciness of their Nashville one). Have seen a lot of people eating the vermicelli and rice bowls in-store, and they recently started offering pho.“

“I'm visiting from out of town, and I was blown away by this Thai spot in Lexington, of all places. As of Dec 2023, they are takeout only, but we only waited 15 minutes for our food. Everything was amazing! We got the pad Thai, duck penang curry, curry puffs, beef noodle soup and roti + curry sauce. My faves were the duck Penang curry and beef noodle soup. The beef and duck were so tender. Portions are great and dishes were packaged thoughtfully for takeout. I will be coming back! Best Thai food on the east coast imo (and I say this having lived in NYC).“

“I just came here for the first time tonight. I just finished my dinner a few minutes ago, and it was so good! I am vegan, and I very much appreciate the vegan options here. The Tofu Banh Mi and fresh Tofu Spring Rolls were so good! I also ordered a noodle bowl, which I am saving for tomorrow; I’m sure it’s amazing too! The service was also very good. I was helped by who I assume is the owner (?). He gave me detailed information on what I can order there as a vegan. He also recommended a spicy sauce he put together, which was delicious. I will absolutely be back again. Everything from the food and the service was A++! I highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: For Vegans and Vegetarians: Tofu Banh Mi, Fresh Tofu Spring Rolls, Tofu Noodle Bowl, Soy Sauce (opt out on the fish sauce), Peanut SauceParking: Mall Parking“

“If you get the chance to swing by Cicada Coffee Bar in Central Sq. Cambridge, don't miss out on their delicious Vietnamese-inspired coffee drinks and food. The place has a really cool vibe with unique decor, filled with interesting knick-knacks and lush greenery. It all adds up to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We got coffee and pastries on our visit there, but would definitely go back for lunch or dinner!“

“Awesome owner making delicious and well priced food. They have a very expansive Banh Mi menu and lots of other goodies to go. Definitely gives Ba Le a run for their money for best Banh Mi in Dorchester, if not all of Boston. They also offer some Latin Vietnamese infusion sandwiches and plates which is unique.Highly reccomend to the Banh Mi enthusiast.“

“One of my favorite places in all of Boston. I've literally had dreams about their Tom Yum soup (although I haven't had anything else on the menu I didn't love, the Tom Yum is just next level). The appetizers are all delicious and the flan for dessert is a must!“
“Finally some competition in Watertown for best boba place. Prices for boba are extremely reasonable and cheaper than most places. My order included one beef Bahn Mi, 2 crepe cakes, and 1 large Thai iced tea. The total including 18% tip came out to around 27$. The beef Bahn Mi was pretty tasty although I wish there was more of a paste/sauce in the sandwich. Crepe cakes were decent although they were frozen, and the Thai iced tea was pretty good, not too sweet or overwhelming. Ordering is mainly done on a kiosk due to space limitations/ employees, so I would suggest having your card on hand. Overall, very excited to finally have a shop in the square that is open past 3pm!“

“Tried Huong Que today and it was delicious! We ordered the scallion pancakes, chicken skewers, chicken pho and steamed clams with lemongrass. Everything was very flavorful, and the broth for the pho was excellent. the chicken skewers were my favorite dish :) Our server was very kind and attentive. I definitely recommend!“

“Me and my boyfriend had lunch here and we loved it! The food was delicious, presented very well and seasoned to perfection. I love that their menu carries more traditional Vietnamese dishes. The vermicelli with shrimp paste and sugar cane was 10/10. I wanted to try one of the sticky rice plate specials but unfortunately they weren’t ready yet, which is fine since it’ll give me a reason to come back! I can’t wait to try their cat fish clay pot too!“

“This was our first time visiting The Bangkok and it will NOT be our last! We decided to be complete fat@$$es — I mean adventurous — and delved into the small plates. If you are a person of small appetite, 1-2 small plates is enough for you (we did not stop there!). For apps/small plates, we shared the veggie crispy rolls and curry roti (fried scallion pancake). The rolls were perfectly crisp without being oily with a healthy side of pickled carrots and radish over lettuce and sweet/sour dipping sauce. The roti was served hot and crispy with a soft lemongrass soup sauce. Amazing! My carnivorous spouse added a small plate of ribs, too; she describes the ribs as “good.” In more elaborate details the curry on top tasted of a savory scallion and red beans that fit nicely with the meat of the ribs that fell from the bones (may the poor cow’s soul rest in peace).Moving onto entrees, I have a habit of testing Thai restaurants with tofu red curry. This was a healthy portion — too much to handle in one sitting — was a New England American (white people) spicy 5:10 after asking for extra spicy, luckily there was chili oil on the tables for additional spice. Anyway, the curry was creamy, not watery and had a beautiful mix of beans, red peppers, bamboo, tofu, pea pods, and chunks of eggplant, plus a side of rice. I would definitely get it again!Partner in murdering Thai food today got khao soi noodle dish that had a light yellow curry spicy (caliente) sauce with noodles, scallion, greens, herbs, vegetables, and a whole freaking chicken leg grass in a lemon grass coconut sauce, which I’m told tasted amazing. Again, God rest that chicken soul. We finished off fat@$$fest with the mango sticky rice. Well, the taste was impeccable with the just perfectly ripen mangoes, I would suggest just slightly more coconut sauce, but keep in mind I am an Asian American, not an Asian Asian. The service was wonderful and each of the people serving us was on top of our table without being overbearing. And the best part was for all of that we spent around $66 without tip. I highly recommend if you are in the Melrose area and really looking for some authentic, delicious Thai food.“

“Be prepared for the folks behind the counter to not speak English. I wasn’t but fortunately a nice woman in line took mercy on me and my Little Brother. We wondered into this place after going to the JFK Presidential Library. Based on my translator’s recommendation I got the Bahn Mi #2, grilled steak, which was wonderful! I keep thinking about the combo of sweet, hot peppers, cilantro and whatever other delicious stuff they put in there. Hope to be back!“

“Second time eating at Viet Citron. Had the Rice Noodle Bowl with Grilld Big A$$ Chickenand my boyfriend had the Rice Bowl with Sirloin. Added Kimchi and washed it all down with a salted lime juice. As always, top notch, flavors were light, bright and bold where they were supposed to be. Cost might seem high to some, but you have to realize that all the ingredients are fresh and majority is made from scratch and on site.I’ll be back next time I’m coming through !!!“

“After Plaster Funtime with the kids, I was searching for somewhere easy to eat with my kiddos but wanted to expose them to something they hadn't had before and that I loved. Pho!!! ?28 Bistro has a low key vibe, great music in the background, and the owner who works the register and tables(at least that Sunday) was delightful. The food was absolutely delicious! I had to order an 18yo, a 14yo, and a 7 yo. 29 Bistro didn't disappoint.Apps: Seaweed Salad, Short Ribs, and CalamariEntree options: Beef Pho, 2 x Seafood Pho, and Duck Pho (these aren't the names of the dishes, but the main ingredients within). My kids were loving the flavor, enjoying every moment of the experience, and had a bunch left over for lunch the next day despite being super full.I enjoyed it all. The Dutch Pho was absolutely amazing and while I over did it a bit in the apps, flavorwise, it was all amazing.Oh, we capped it off with various flavors of boaba tea! You've gotta check out 29 Bistro. I'll sure be back!!“

“Had the beef noodle soup. Absolutely delicious, very bold and intense flavor. Very good on a chilly day.The dining area was very cold. It looked very plain , no pictures , nothing on the tables. Needs character if you want people to dine in. It reminded me of a cold deli counter.“

“I always get the Thai PhoGreat quality and used to be less than $16 but with extra meat and tip it's getting over $20 with tax and I just feel like I might stop the extra meet now :c but not their fault. Inflation sucks :D but great PHO will come back.“

“I was slightly anxious to enter this place but I don't regret it. It wasn't first time trying a Banh Mi and this place did not disappoint. I'm not a big pork/meat person so the amount of meat the sandwich had was fine for me. Customer service is definitely good as well. As a college student I also think it's pretty affordable and filling. The place is small but I believe that's what gives it it's welcoming ambiance.“

“Solid food at a very reasonable price but the shop is in distinct disrepair and the service is pretty slow, if it was just one or the other I wouldn't mind much for a counter service place but having to wait around in a derelict shop is unpleasant. Good chicken bahn mi!“

“I seriously miss this place and would come here every week if it was down the street from me! This spot is such a hidden gem, we loved every item we ordered from here! This is the first Vietnamese Restaurant I've seen in Boston to serve Mi Quang and DAMN was it FRICKEN GOOD! The egg noodles were just chewy enough and the sauce and broth were such a good complement to one another that this may just be my favorite Viet dishWe also ordered the Pho Dac Biet (Pho Special) and the broth tasted so pure, it was just simply fantastic. In addition, we also ordered beef summer rolls which were pretty great too. The restaurant itself seems family owned since it seemed like many locals were walking in and also chatting with the owner. It's about small-medium sized inside, but definitely can still fit a good number of tables. Waiter was very kind and made sure our table felt cared for despite all the tables he had to take care of himself! Can't wait to come back again! What we ordered:- Mi Quang (A MUST)- Pho Dac Biet (Pho Special)- Beef Summer Rolls“

“Love this place. Usually travel here all the way instead of Bale as I find the baguette much better and the grilled beef not so chewy. I also enjoyed the snacks they offer such as squid jerky.Plus, it is nearby places like Vivi Bubble tea and other asian eateries.“

“Quaint little ramen spot but perfect for anyone craving authentic ramen. They pack the broth separately for to go orders which is great for reheating later on. They add a cute piece of seaweed to the bowl too. Servers are super friendly and helpful towards first timers. Portions are filling and fresh. Barstool style seating indoors in the winter time!“

“I'm really looking forward to returning here and trying more of their menu. The Pho sac biet was one of the best I've had in Boston (not to mention the cheapest), and the pad Thai with chicken was so delicious.I got this food to go but the vibes in the store are so cool and the waitress was so nice I'd love to eat in next time.“

“We enjoyed the quaint, intimate ambiance and the delicious, flavorful, well balanced food here and are glad we went. The small wine list is well-curated and we enjoyed our drink choices. With a couple of easy tweaks this could become a 4.5 or 5 for me.First, just please filter your water! A simple carbon filter setup would get rid of the noxious and strong chlorine smell of "fresh" Somerville tap water. Either that or let the carafes of water sit for a couple of hours before serving. The smell was strong enough to interfere with the aroma of the wonderful food.Second, as others have said, the high top stools are backless and very uncomfortable. We might have stayed for dessert or another round of drinks if we weren't so uncomfortable by the end of the meal.Third, better communication from servers about expectations timing of plates. For two of us, we ordered 2 small plates and 2 entrees. The small plates came out one at a time, which is fine since we were planning to share anyway. But we were expecting the entrees to come out together and they came out almost 10 minutes apart. If that's the plan, you need to let guests know even entrees are served one at time for sharing and ask if that's ok! Not everyone can share plates due to dietary restrictions and it's just a matter of communication.“

“I miss the days when these banh mis used to be $3. This was a go-to lunch spot for me when I worked in the area many years ago. Prices have gone up in general everywhere, so I can’t fault the place for that. The banh mis were very good from what I remember, but they weren’t the best that I’ve had. However, it is in an accessible area despite having no seating, and it is still a relatively cheap, filling meal.“

“I was so excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant open up in Davis! The interior is so cute and cozy. Super welcoming and warm place to have a meal or sit with a coffee. Their matcha coconut coffee is yummy and unique - it’s been a repeat purchase for me. The chicken wings were also great - a good size with lots of meat and crispy. We got the crispy chicken noodle bowl and the lemongrass chicken noodle bowl with a fried egg roll. The meat was well seasoned, super flavorful. Having grown up eating Vietnamese food all my life, I was missing the traditional herbs like mint and basil that usually come with vermicelli bowls, but the meat was so flavorful it really carried the dish. I also prefer fish sauce that is more pungent and rich, and the one they have is definitely less concentrated. It lended what I thought was a lighter and more fresh take on a traditional Vietnamese vermicelli bowl. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant! But if I was recommending to people who are familiar with Vietnamese food, I’d probably also tell them it’s slightly different from what they might expect.“

“This place is SO GOOD! I just moved in down the street and am so happy to have a true, authentic viet spot close by!! I've only been in for a quick banh mi grab and haven't had the chance to order any pho, but I'm sure as the weather gets colder I'll be there daily. I'm so picky about vietnamese food bc my mom had a restaurant while I was growing up. I'm sad she never taught me to speak vietnamese but the women behind the counter are so helpful and kind regardless!Highly recommend :)“

“A peaceful little spot in the middle of the busy city. Got my blood drawn (not here) and came here seeking solace.Devin smiled at me like an old friend who knows a secret. He made me a crepe and coffee and brought it to my table with a wise smile. The is this heaven crepe. Tastes like something I ate as a child. I don’t remember what it was, I just remember the joy it made me feel and the feeling my parents might get divorced soon. The plate was beautifully put together. I ate it like a ravenous stray dog. I feel my blood being restored. May only kindness walk through you door.Great place for a date.Kid-friendliness: Very annoying crying baby, nobody complained ?“

“I've always been a fan of Shōjō when they first opened in Chinatown and this was the first time I got to try out their Cambridge location, which was located in a modern building, with neighboring Asian businesses and HMart is just down the street! The pork belly bao was deliciously tender and juicy and the fresh pickled veggies added the right tingle to the taste buds. The bao itself was soft and fluffy. I was craving the Shojonator and it hit the spot. Definitely get the egg with it! But the Shadowless Fries, with its beef map tofu was the show stealer! I really liked the Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan mural giving the ambiance a modern Kung Fu feel! It wasn't busy for a Thursday lunch so service was quick and friendly.“

“I love this place so much. My boyfriend introduced me to this place and I can't help but to come back for more. “Love this sushi. The service is rushed, so they should work on customer service to make it a 5-star restaurant experience. We've gone 3 times, and all 3 times we are always being rushed to order, and then they bring everything at once, even if you asked for drinks and appetizers. We decided to do take-out to avoid getting rushed. Otherwise, the sushi is really good. It's a shame. They have good drinks too, but they haven't grasped the timing or demeanor to make eating-in an enjoyable experience.Vegetarian options: Nice section of vegetarian rolls. We tried the honey, and it was absolutely amazing. I am not a vegetarian, and yet I loved it! They had many creative vegetarian rolls.“

“Service is really fast apparently. I called and was told 5-10 min for conch and pho. Traffic was horrendous and took me over an hour though.I’ve never had conch before. The seasoning was great (smokey, sweet, bright, crispy, and slight bit of spice) as was the peanut crunch, but I don’t think I like conch as a meat. It’s like the clam round posterior muscle thing, but that’s the entirety of it instead of only a portion. The pho was ok. Neither the best nor the worst I’ve had. The meat in the soup was very tender. Was just under $32 total. If the drive wasn’t so awful, I’d consider going again. Street parking. Interior is somewhat small.“
