A lovely neighborhood bakery and coffee shop. Great place to read, work, study, meet with friends, or simply watch the world go by.

The cappuccino's were exceptional! We're on a journey in search of the best Baklava in Massachusetts and this was our first stop! There is a very specific taste we seek and hope to find again! ? Thanks for the start Athan's Bakery!

On our visit to eat baklava it was interesting, the attention was very pleasant, we tried three types of baklava but one of them we liked the pistachio one the best. The cappuccino is very good, I recommend it.

This definitely needs a staff change. The service is so poor. I was looking forward to eating the puff pastry here and the trans girl's screams, unhepful behavior and frustration kinda ruined it for me.

This place served me a cookie with plastic bits on it. Why? You may ask. Well, I am a man of color. That woman or man in the front served me this poison. I usually love this place as it is a place of celebration for my children. But today was extremely upsetting. This was worse than when my dad was sent to war. He went to fight for the country. But here I was betrayed and fed dirt by my fellow citizens of America. I hope to never experience this trouble again. Amen.

Accidentally found this place while trying to find a quiet place to work. Athans Bakery pleasantly surprises you with a lot of warmth. The place is great if you need to get some quiet work done. An added plus point is that they have wifi and a good variety of beverages and pastries to choose from.On my visit, the bakery was run by one person, but the efficiency and timeliness was so on point that it felt like more than one person was serving you. Also, their hot chocolate is something to definitely try!

Great spot for anyone seeking traditional Mediterranean and European pastries and some of the city's best Baklava.Brookline has a lot of ethnic bakeries and Athan’s is among the local’s favorites. With its classic wooden interior and relatively large seating area, it offers a comforting atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful morning treat.During my recent visit, I was immediately greeted by the attentive staff, who guided me through their variety of Baklava. I got one of each and these bite-sized Baklava pieces were amazing – achieving the ideal balance of density and flakiness, with nutty fillings that were simply sublime. Among these, my favorites were the chocolate walnut and almond varieties.Their cake selection didn't disappoint either. The Napoleon puff pastry was delightful – light, airy, and spongy – while the Amendoa's delicate vanilla sponge and almond flavor was a pleasure. An unexpected highlight was the ham and cheese croissant, served warm from the oven, with enticing cheese crisps at its edges.Overall, a great bakery that serves amazing traditional pastries. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their cake and cookie offerings.
Cookies were okay, girl working at the counter was pretty unhelpful and

This place use to have great pastries and croissants. I bought a chocolate croissant and it was not remotely close to a croissant. It was some bread with chocolate inside. not fluffy or crispy at all. I hope they can revise their recipes and go back to what they use to

A wonderful taste of Greece, down to the unrushed way you can lounge, well after your coffee is gone.

We tried both the Black Forest cake and Napoleon dessert, but unfortunately, neither of them met our expectations. As someone from Germany, I didn't find the Black Forest cake authentic in taste; it had an unusual flavor. Additionally, the Napoleon dessert had black mold on the puff pastry, which was quite disappointing. We won't be returning to this bakery.
