The food was splendid the Mongolian beef and sushi was amazing, the service was pushy and felt slightly forceful. A good spot for a walk in dinner with friends DOES NOT TAKE APPLE PAY 18% gratitude was inforced

We had it takeout. Solid Chinese food, definitely *many8 steps above the average garlic and brown sauce sauté or deep fry that forms the base of so much indistinguishable American Chinese 'cuisine.' Dry pot dishes-- get some. We had tofu Basil Eggplant with tofu--yes Grilled beef skewers-- definitely. Kung Pao chicken-- a mundane dish, but the crowd requested it and,at Jin's, it was well-accomplished Tempura appetizer- picked up quickly as a takeout-- did not stand up well, when, soon later, at home. Skip as takeout. In restaurant..? Don't know All in all, perhaps the to- Chinese food choice in Coolidge corner, and a lead in brookline. While they've some Japanese dishes, a sushi chef(s), I can't speak to that.

Take-out order on 11/9/23: Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts $16.95 + Steamed White Rice $3.00 +tax $1.24 = $21.19. A bit more than I usually pay for Chinese food, but it was good so on 12/30/23, I returned to their website to confirm the same prices for the same food items on their current online "Holiday Menu". However, when I got to the restaaurant to order in person, an Asian-American guy with bleach blond hair told me the order would come to $26. He claimed the prices went up 25% in the past 7 weeks, contradicting their own current published online menu. It seems many restaurants weren't content with the existential threat of the pandemic; they now risk their business through price gouging/incompetence/poor service/added fees and other self-defeating measures. Thanks for your prompt reply to my review. Three points in response to that reply: 1) If you are the owner, you should see that your Holiday Menu lists KungPao Chicken with Peanuts as $16.95, not $15.50 as you claim in your reply. 2)If Kung Pao Shrimp is an option, why is it not listed on your menu anywhere with its own price? (I looked under the headings of Seafood and everywhere else, not finding it.) 3) Most germaine here is that on 11/9/23, I was charged $16.95 for Kung Pao Shrimp (it WAS shrimp, not chicken), so apparently I was undercharged at that time without realizing it. I'm at least gratified to learn that the $5 extra cost was for the food itself, not a "kitchen appreciation fee", a "delivery fee" for something not delivered, etc. I only suggest your menu should be explicit about the cost of Kung Pao Shrimp.Self-Correction: Upon further reflection, I may be mistaken about my 11/9/23 take out order. I now think I wanted to order Kung pao Shrimp with Peanuts, only saw Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts and ordered that instead, which was quite good. So I apologize for my part in the misunderstanding. However, It would have been helpful if the person tasked yesterday with walk-in take out ordering was familiar enough with Jin's menu to recognize from my quoted price that I had ordered and received Kung Pao Chicken last month. Yhen he would have explained that the shrimp version--not listed on the menu--costs more for the reason you mention. As a consequence, I would not have been led to think that the dish I ordered then had gone up in price 25% in 7 weeks. His response was: "Yes, it did (increase in price). I'm sorry." This also reassures Jin's that I was not undercharged for my order last month.

Excellent food and equally good service. We ordered the hotpot with potatoes and asked to have some extra veggies added. Our server gave her honest opinion regarding which veggies would be better left out and what worked with the potatoes. The hotpot was delicious. The veggie dumplings and the sushi was also very good. My favorite was the hot and sour soup. It was delicious, very tasty and comforting. I would definitely recommend this place!

We've eaten here numerous times and the food and service is good. What upset me tonight was feeling really disrespected by one of the hosts. We had a reservation for 5:30 pm but to get a booth at 5:30 pm we promised to be in and out in an hour, since they said they had a reservation at 6:30 for the table. That was the agreement. We finished paying at 6:20pm and we we're gathering our coats getting ready to leave at 6:25 when one of the desk jockeys can over to curtly remind us that we had promised to leave by 6:30. Here I was just telling my wife how nice it felt to have kept to our promise when this idiot comes over to chase us out. It would have been so much more savvy of him to first check with the waiter to see if the check had been paid and then come to ask us how we enjoyed our meal, and to thank us for keeping to the schedule we had agreed upon. But sadly he only knew to look at the reservation screen and react like a robot worker on autopilot. (Sorry Gen Z'ers, this guy is pulling down the curve.) So we left the restaurant with a bad taste in our mouth, which was unnecessary and resulted in this review. Hopefully they'll see this and do better in the future. This won't keep me from coming back, but it will inevitably be a strike one. Sorry, I sometimes do hold a grudge when it comes to feeling disrespected. moving on.

Called and placed my order at Jin’s, wanted to try a new restaurant. As soon as I walked in, my food came out. The quality was phenomenal, hot items were perfect temperature. Sushi was really refreshing. Overall food was incredible.I’d say the only thing that I had an issue with was the card machine. It seems there machine doesn’t work well with orders over $60 so I needed to make two transactions. Not a big deal I get it. Would find it more efficient if that wasn’t the case though. But like any restaurant they have their pros and cons. As far as I could tell that was the only con. Everything was great. The host/ front desk associate was so patient, very cooperative and kind. Jin’s is represented with good hands. Looking forward to sitting down there.Shout out to the:- General Gao’s chicken (lunch special-great amount)- Any of their sushiGreat place for lunch and a fast takeout.

We were looking for a spot for dinner before a movie at the Coolidge Corner Theater, and this hit the spot. One companion had sushi, another had dumplings, and I had shrimp and vegetable tempura with a side of brown rice. All were well satisfied with our meals. Service was prompt and attentive. Will be back.

I ordered takeout from here through DoorDash. There is a mix of Chinese and Japanese. I’d say Jin’s has some of the better sushi that I’ve had in the greater Boston area with a higher fish to rice ratio. The hot dishes were very good.
