More a 3.5 star though I'm not too much into ramen. This was the first time I ate there and likely will come back to try something else. I went for the miso ramen to be on the safe side. The broth was very rich but also had a lot of sodium. The service was fast though it didn't necessarily help the food: The soup is effectively assembled where the items such as the egg, meat and other toppings come from the fridge. The first experience is that you have a hot broth but the first experience you have is to bite into something cold. Nothing wrong with that but it just threw me a little bit off. Next time, I cool down the broth by heating the cold ingredients. They have a drink menu as well as serve rice bowls if ramen is not your thing.

I had a nice dinner at Sapporo Ramen while I was staying in Brookline. It's an easy walk from the Hilton Garden Inn. I had the Shoyu ramen w/black mushrooms added, and a side of spring rolls. It's not THE BEST ramen I've ever had, but it's pretty darn good, and was exactly what I wanted to warm up from a chilly evening. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about food allergies -- I asked for it without egg due to an allergy and she said all the right things. All in all, I'd eat here again.

I ordered the Miso Ramen. It tasted so bad. I couldn't even eat it. The taste was sour and made me nauseous. The toppings are also unpleasant. I don't recomend.

My son and I decided on Sapporo instead of Santouka Harvard Square. Wow! One of the best Ramen around.

We ordered take out and live very close by. I had the Miso Ramen which was very disappointing. The broth was not hot, the pork had a lot of grizzle making it hard to heat and the spinach included one large piece which again made eating hard. I don't think we will order from Sapporo again. We loved the ramen restaurant that Sapporo replaced called Migaku and ate there regularly. This is no comparison for good ramen.

What a pleasant surprise! Every dish we ordered was delicious! Kara age curry don, shoyu ramen, tan tan men and Tako-yaki.The waitress was very attentive and service was excellent. The place clean and nicely decorated. The washroom was super clean too!Kid-friendliness: The waitress brought forks and two small bowls for the kids to eat.

This did the job for me. The flavors where there and it was served at the perfect temperature. Service was amazing and the seaweed salad was so good. Normal prices for Ramen. I do wish there were more options or even the ability to build my own. Maybe some seafood choices as well. But this quenched my need for ramen

First off, they don't have the cold ramen as advertised in the photos.Second, they chase you down for not tipping even after you’ve paid, which is so embarrassing and makes me uncomfortable. Yes restaurants are struggling and we should support small biz (which is why I came in btw) but this is a BIG turn off. Tipping is no longer a way to show appreciation but an excuse to charge people more for everything.A tip is supposed to be a thank you for outstanding service. It should not be expected, but gratefully accepted if offered. This is my first visit and will be my last.

Stopped by for a quick dinner as it didn't seem too busy inside on a Monday evening. Service was very fast! We started with takoyaki as an app which was very doughy but decent. For our entrees we had the miso ramen and karaage curry. The miso ramen was very average - not particularly rich or seasoned, the spinach was an interesting add and the pork was well cooked but again nothing special. The curry on the other hand was delicious - the karaage was some of the most moist chicken we've had, and the curry was so flavorful. We'd come back for some curry but I'm not sure yet about the ramen.

Over a great place to have some Ramen in Brookline. The hot and sour ramen was outstanding and the pork gyoza was better than expected. It's just too bad that the wait staff and food wait took forever. I wonder if they were short-staffed the day? I went because for lunchtime the place was near empty yet we had to wait to get seated. Once we did there was a wait to put our order in there was a long wait to get our drinks and food. I'm willing to give this place another chance I'm hoping that this is a one-time inconvenience.

My daughter who ranted about this place took us when we visited her at her college. I have to say it did not disappoint. When we arrived we were the only patrons. I left for two minutes to wash my hands in the men’s room and when I returned the place was crowded and a line had formed outside waiting to get in. They move quickly in here so find what you want, eat and get out. Food was great! Can’t wait for my next trip there.

Very delicious. The broth is great! Well balanced recipe with veg and meat.
