Low key i had no idea what i was doing when i sat down! I had never been to a hot pot style restaurant! The staff was unbelievably busy. Yet they took the time they could to make sure we had a great experience! The food was on point! We had a great dinner!

Really bad hostess. Kept lying to us, it’s our turn next time but in the end brought 3-4 tables of people ahead of us .

Busy evening, accommodation was easy as I was solo. Instructions were simple, ordered the crispy pork, some skewers and got some side plates. The fruit tea was free. Ordered the medium spicy and I thought that was a bit too much for me; I’m also a former spice addict and now can’t handle it like I used to. They have stations for the seasoning and spices and fridges to take the food from. A la carte. Good for people to browse and see it for themselves. They offer frog legs, which definitely makes it for an interesting first time date night to come here! Experience was great and will come back again.

I heard that the business will be closed next week for internal renovation, so I happened to be able to eat at the end. There are also six free unlimited drinks. Although they are not delicious, they go well with the spicy hotpot. The main consumption in the store is hot pot. After choosing the soup base, you can order slices of meat or go to the skewers area to get it yourself. There are many types, including all kinds of meat, vegetables, and hot pot ingredients. There are also side dishes and ice noodles, which can be quite filling.

Very authentic cuisine. They had bullfrog legs, intestines, and other things I’ve never seen before. If you are looking for an authentic experience this is it! If you aren’t as adventurous maybe try a more Americanized version. Picking out your own meat from common fridges was fun and interactive. I imagine this would be a great first date spot with all there is to talk about here. Good service and good prices. The free dessert bar is quite underwhelming though, it’s a clear jello with fruit.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Wide varietyParking: Paid street parking

After many visits for Hot-Pot in China and in Flushing, I didn't have my hopes up for an outstanding experience a few blocks from my house. However, I would rate them a solid 4.6. :) We ate early and were happy that we were the only Westerners in a full restaurant. Contrary to some bad reviews, everything was fresh with as diverse a selection as available in China. My complaints were very minor, they left us to control the pot temperature ourselves andtheir TofuPi was paper thin (which is actually more true to the name (but I am used to multilayerd skins that are cut like fettuccine which is more easy to deal with in a boiling hotpot).Vegetarian options: Vegetable broth with plenty of veggies to choose from but there is also plenty of meat nearby in the refrigerator cases (which may turn off hardcore vegetarians).

Quality was good; the double spicy broth has plenty of szechuan peppercorns and it's delicious. Going for the half and half split cauldron is a great way to have a flavorful broth for cooking, and a mild broth for souping. For two, a bit on the pricier side; meal would scale well for a larger party. There is certainly an "experience" aspect to what one pays for, so I'm sure it would be more fun for larger parties. The atmosphere was pleasant, not too loud, not too humid; great for a cold December evening.Parking: Parking meters in effect until 8pm, then it's free. There is usually parking on median on Beacon; the place is a few meters from the Coolidge Corner T station, so public transit is a good option.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level, no stairs. Staff should be able to help with doors.

The skewers looks like it’s been left in the fridge for days, the meat was marinated trying to keep it ok to eat, but you can see and taste that the food is not fresh. Don’t go, be afraid for your

Poor communication. Prices aren’t properly labeled so you don’t really know what you’re paying for until you get slapped with the bill. You get charged $2.50 each for using the sauce bar which is expensive! Some things we ordered didn’t come. We also got charged for someone else’s bill….makes no sense….Save yourself a headache and just go somewhere else.

Food lived up to expectation. I gave two stars first because I concur with other reviews on the overpricing, also very inefficient that each long stick just holds a tiny bit of food? Second the waitress didn't follow our instruction to separate the alcohol into another receipt, making trouble for us to do reimbursement.

Such a fun evening out! It was a little confusing since it was our first time, but we quickly got the hang of it. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and made us a delicious dipping sauce which we all loved. Will be back--

Nestled in a cozy, albeit cramped space, this hotpot and skewer restaurant offers a culinary experience that's a blend of abundance and minor misses. The soup base options are impressive, allowing for a dual selection for a nominal upcharge, perfect for those who can't decide on just one flavor. While the atmosphere is lively, be prepared for a high noise level that might make conversation a challenge. The self-service fridge brimming with a wide variety of 串串 (skewers) and hotpot meats speaks to the variety on offer. Complementing the hotpot are both wet and dry dips, thoughtfully curated to enhance each bite. As for dessert, a DIY 冰粉 (ice jelly) cart adorned with fruits and sprinkles offers a refreshing finale. The meats are notably fresh, although some skewers, like the potato ones, are too long for the pot, causing uneven cooking. Also, don't be surprised to find skewers with just a tiny cube of meat — in terms of value and ease of cooking, you're better off selecting from the trays of meat available for hotpot. Interestingly, unlike many hotpot spots that offer all-you-can-eat options, this restaurant operates on an à la carte basis, which can be an advantage for snagging a table on busy days. Surprisingly, the price difference between this à la carte experience and an all-you-can-eat buffet is minimal, making it a viable choice for those seeking variety without breaking the bank.

I was visiting the area and it was also my first time trying a skewer hot pot spot. Definitely good experience. It's self serve skewers that are kept in fridges. You grab yourself a tray then help yourself. Desserts and appetizers you order with the staff. Food was good. Large selection is skewers. Service was pretty quick and it was cool because we got to spin the wheel for free dessert! It was definitely packed when we came in on a Saturday night.
