I walked to the store in Brookline today, got there around 2:30, found a sign on the door saying the store was closed and someone would be back in 15 or 20 minutes, so I came back about 30 minutes later and the store was still closed.

Great store with quality artisan bread as well as seasonal specials that I look forward to every year. The manager here is so nice as well she really cares about her customers and always thrives to make every experience great, she's always working hard in the mornings especially Wednesdays which is half priced sourdough. Shes usually multitasking with a smile and carrying on good conversation. The awesome down-home feel they cultivate makes it such a comfortable buying experience.Parking: Parking is out front along the street but even if it's full you can always go up a block and use the mid street parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Children welcomeWheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access at this location but if you call ahead the workers will meet you outside with your order or make other accommodations. Call ahead and they will help you

This used to be my favorite bread, UNTIL they changed the recipe. It used to be just flour water salt and yeast, but now had changed to enriched flour and a bunch of other ingredients. Less is more. Sadly I will no longer be a customer.

I don't know where, but at some point someone told me When Pigs Fly is the best bread bakery in town. They have several locations, so when I happened to walk past their flagship store in JP I decided to stop in and see what all the buzz was about. The store itself is quite small but when you first walk in they have a large selection of jelly and jams and olive oils for bread dipping. Then comes the bread - oh so many different flavors! I decided to get a fall-themed loaf and asked the staff member which he preferred. Ended up getting an apple cinnamon loaf based on his recommendation. They slice the loaf into snackable slices for you, which I appreciate. I thought I'd have one slice while walking home but ended up eating 30% of the loaf (oops!), it was just that good!

My partner loves their bread, and the prices are good. Employees are always pleasant. It is cheaper to buy direct from them instead of from Star Market, and the bread is much fresher. Unfortunately, they don't make any gluten free breads, but what they have is great.

The breads here are sooooo wonderful.we live in florida and visit every year. We just went to the store as as is our practice,we picked up5!loaves.All their breads are delicious ! We have some mailed to our southern place . Awesome for thanksgiving. They make every tasting like a holiday.They also donate day old bread to charity for poor. They do everything perfectly!!
