My wife and I are on parental leave, and have enjoyed taking our sleeping newborn with us for day/early evening walks. On those walks, we often pop into a local spot for coffee or drinks.We decided to try Daedalus tonight. Immediately upon entering with our stroller, the hostess gave us a glaring sign of disapproval. We inquired about sitting at one of the available high top tables in the bar room. We received a very unclear response and had to reconfirm if that was okay. While she she said yes, it was clear to us that we were not welcome at this establishment with a baby and stroller. There was even an air of hostility when we shared that we were only coming in for drinks, despite us pointing out a table within the bar room. The bar was not crowded, and we were more than willing to fold up our stroller to reduce our clutter. Unfortunately, the tone and negative interaction with the hostess was all we needed to confirm we were not welcomed there. We decided to promptly leave.Thankfully, Sea Hag, a bar a few feet further down from Daedalus, has a much more welcoming vibe and friendliness towards little ones.Kid-friendliness: This place is not baby friendly. Definitely on the fence for 5 v. 4 stars. It a great space with lots of interesting decor, and the upper floor has a great vibe ...get up there if possible. Service was good; expected for a slow evening. Vibe is nice...not too much TV or music pervading, yet not lacking in some liveliness either...nice touch. Host was great and re-seated to better spot (chairs not stools) was easy. The standard menu (no specials that night) had scallops which were super! Cooked perfectly with the broc rabe also perfect on the side. The risotto, possibly from another school of risotto-thought, was not so. Just OK and seeming under cooked a bit and underwhelming... some umami or like influence would be good/needed. Duck dish was nice...but, they asked if medium rare is OK which it is! and should be. It was a precut set portion of tiny fillets which is great ( tho Im a fan of on the bone or "whole" fillet). What came up was nearly raw in the middle...yes, I definitely could have sent it back, but i"m lazy I guess and wanted to start eating together. Note to chef: a thin/medium size line of pink is good but a big old bunch is not. Note I eat rare /medium rare everything including lamb and port, but this was 'too much'...again my fault for not sending back, but.... Asparagus side was done very well...not under/over cooked. I'll be back!

Lovely restaurant close to Harvard Square with upstairs and downstairs seating. We were seated upstairs in a booth. Loved the ambiance, and the food was excellent. The only reasons that there was not a 5 star review was that it took us close to 5 minutes after we were seated to be acknowledged by a server. We had an early reservation so the pace was not too busy. The host never told us that the menu was on a coaster looking QR code, so we thought we just didn't get a menu. The food was wonderful, but arrived lukewarm. Still 4 stars, and I would definitely return.

I've been to Daedalus before, for brunch, but it was also delicious for dinner. Ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca, delicious. It came with green beans and they were delicious, so delicious that I have to call that out. Had the boulevardier cocktail - also delicious. My friends had gnocchi and the pear salad, all with excellent ratings. Ended up staying there until closing, 4 hours all told. An excellent place, I'll be going back.

Visiting Boston for the first time and heard this was a great restaurant. It looked very nice inside however, five minutes after sitting down we saw a mouse dart across the floor. Brought attention to the server and bartender standing nearby who looked at it and watched it run across the floor towards the kitchen. The staff then proceeded to walk around pretending to look for it by some tables. Neither seemed concerned nor surprised by the mouse. Needless to say we left without placing an oder for food and will not be going back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Cambridge! The food is consistently great, and the space is good karma ... I have my best conversations here. And a shout out to Brian, Brendan, and Lawrence, who are always a warm and friendly presence. I moved from Harvard to Brown, so I haven't been around as much, but was glad to be back with my husband Saturday night. Thank you, as always! -Anya
Wonderful ambiance and food! The service was very good and we sat at a beautiful table near the windows with our family. A very special experience for us and we will definitely plan more dinner evenings at Daedalus!

Delicious food, great service...what's not to love! I chose Daedalus because I wanted to try some of the dishes from their online menu. Unfortunately, none of the them were available at the restaurant. Daedlalus ought to update their menu online. The items we chose were fabulous. We had the Mahi Mahi tacos and Fish and chips. Both were fabulous. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I ever had! The pear and brie salad with cranberries was a wonderful combination. All in all, I am looking forward to returning.

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and I had a great time. Our server, Brian, was running point on all three floors of the building during an understaffed shift but always made time to check on us and refill our waters. I asked him to make a slight adjustment to a cocktail (swapping out Cherry juice with Cranberry) and he accommodated without hesitation. The lighting was also perfect - not too bright or sterile but not too dark that it was impossible to see a menu. I also enjoyed the decorations around our table and the layout of the restaurant itself, as it separated the sociable, friends-gathering bustling crowd on the second floor with the intimate dating romantics on the first.Most importantly, the food was simply delicious. My girlfriend got the Mahi Mahi and the fish was cooked perfectly. The seasoning was also solid and had healthy portions. I got the Pork and it was tender without being overcooked, with a very delicious sauce that was full of herbs and marsala wine. The highlight was the berry cobbler and a surprise chocolate lava cake that Brian got for us on the house. The lava cake was extremely solid and will satisfy the most enthusiastic of chocolate lovers, but the cobbler elevated this experience from a 9 to 10. I personally enjoyed how it was a mix of berries and there was a even texture between the warm fruit mixture, the sweet crunch of the oat crumbles, and the smooth vanilla ice cream. If nothing else, you should visit Daedalus just for that nightcap.I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Daedalus, both in terms of ambiance, food, and service. Thank you so much again to Brian for getting us extra dessert on the house and making my birthday experience a fantastic one!
