I came here quite a while ago after watching Christina Tosi on Chef's Table. The love and passion she has for baking transcended through the screen. This location was thrown on a street corner in a shared space with some pizza joint. Me and a ton of others were huddled along the wall waiting in line, as there was only enough room for us to stand single file. I thought it would smell like cookies, baked goods...something? Nope, just greasy pizza. The most horiffic thing about Milkbar is that the cookies and cake truffles are all prepackaged in plastic. Cookies are probably the quickest and easiest dessert to make, so to just throw them in plastic was sad. My friend and I get to the counter and were greeted with the most unpleasant and miserable individuals. Another disappointment was the crack pie. I know she said she prefers to serve it cold, but when something is described as "buttery and gooey", you don't get that when it's a brick. Not long after that I decided to try again and got one of their cakes for my birthday. When I tell you this entire thing was horrifically sweet, dry as a bone and completely crumbled apart...no one could eat it. Milkbar broke my heart.

Ehhh, we went on the last day as it will be closing (we didn’t know that) we also went cause my daughter started watching “bake squad” and after watching many episodes I was really hoping for much more! It’s a large place with literally only 25% of the place used. And no it’s not cause they were closing it was like this 5 months ago. Which I don’t understand as it’s very crowded and barely any room for a line to form or sit. I do understand they were limited on items due to closing but I asked for an item which was not crossed out and they couldn’t make it cause they didn’t have the correct cups, however they could have used the drinking cups oppose to their typically fancy ones but whatever. I was really hoping the food to be better but it sadly was just way to sweet and heavy.

Staff was extremely helpful both on the phone beforehand and in person. I had a bit of a drive ahead of me, but wanted to take a couple pints of ice cream to try. They didn’t have freezer bags, but the two employees up front took the time to get cups of ice with lids and triple bag the pints to keep them cold for me! Desserts are pricey, but worth it! So happy we have a Boston location.

The space is nice for sitting once you get your food/drink. We had the cereal milk soft serve ice cream. It was very over priced at 7 dollars for a small without toppings. It tasted like cereal milk, which you either like or you don’t. The fruity pebbles might be better.

I love milk bar!! Pricey but the cereal milk ice cream with cereal toppings is so crunchy and salty and delicious! The cookies are good too but especially if you warm them up. I’ve been to the NYC Milk Bar and it’s the same stuff here.

Milk bar has one of my favorite soft-serve ice creams out there! They also have incredible pies, shakes, and delicious cookies (corn cookie is the best!). The space is a bit small, and the line formation can get a bit odd because of space, but it’s definitely worth the wait!

I had an amazing experience at the Milk Bar Harvard Square location! All of the staff was very kind and friendly, and also provided great recommendations. Amazing customer service. I ended up getting the “Greatest Hits” combo which is a great deal (compost cookie, Bday truffles, slice of Milk Bar pie, and cereal milk soft serve with cornflake topping). The soft serve flavour was unique in the best way possible, nothing I’ve ever had before, and the cornflake topping added a nice crunch, richness, and a bit of saltiness too. It tastes exactly like a bowl of cereal! The Milk Bar pie was also very gooey and sweet, as promised on the website. The truffles and compost cookie were delicious as well. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Cereal milk soft serve was SO good. Definitely can taste the corn flakes aspect to it. Crack pie, or now the milk bar pie was good as always.$7 USD for the soft serve is a bit steep in pricing tho

I would leave 0 stars if possible. Ordered take out based off the completely edited pictures that they give for the food. Ordered the milk bar and one slice of cake for $22. The slice of the birthday cake was less than an inch and a 1/2 wide and 2 and a 1/2 inches tall. The famous milk bar was less than an inch thick and was half the size of a dollar bill. It was basically an $8 cookie except even smaller. In the world we live in, this owner should be ashamed of how unethical the picture vs reality is. Descriptions show and state more than one person can share a slice. My pet hamster could eat these without needing water.

Ok first of all the person i just got a hold of on the phone made my entire day, my week even! I called to have them help me with something on my order and this sweet girl made me feel so happy and great about my self. The customer service is beyond amazing. And for the girl who picked up that phone and talked to me i hope you have a beyond blessed day you made a stranger feel so special this little up my entire horrible week.

WTH -- who gives this place less than five stars! Needed a birthday cake and it had to be white cake with white frosting. Only place I could find that cake was Milk Bar. Also had a very cute Birthday Bag with candles, confetti, etc. I bought that too -- huge hit. Ordered it, picked it up and yes it was ready. Ate it and the cake was divine. Like perfect even. And for bonus the service was stunning -- really nice people. If you are in the Sq., do stop by, its amazing.

Their ice cream is delicious, I also get it at the grocery stores in pints. You shouldn’t eat there though, the tables are always dirty.

VERY EXPENSIVE!!!! A piece of cake was $11!!!! there wasn’t a variety of flavors for the ice cream cookies are prepackaged which to me means the cookies aren’t freshly baked in the morning who knows when was cookies were bagged and put in the front… right around the corner is Mike’s pastries 10 times better 10 times cheaper and freshly baked Italian pastries and cannolis I definitely recommend going there and not to milk bar. Sorry not sorry

LOVE THIS SPOT! I first tried Milk Bar in NYC and I was so excited for them to open in Cambridge. Located right in the heart of Harvard Square, it's the perfect spot for dessert! They are most well known for their cookies and my absolute favorite is the Compost cookie. Made with chocolate chips, butterscotch, pretzels, potato chips, graham crackers (just to name a few ingredients), you really won't find another cookie like this elsewhere! It might sound like these ingredients wouldn't go well together but it was a pleasant surprise for me. Highly recommend to get your cookie warmed up. They are also known for their cereal milk flavored soft serve. I honestly loved it the first time I tried it and it pairs really well with corn flake toppings or a warm cookie! Their birthday cake is also one of my favs. It's on the sweeter side but I can honestly say it's in my top 5 for best cakes! Be sure to grab some milk to balance out the sweetness!

Milk Bar is kind of like a dessert cafe. They have cereal milk soft serve, cake slices, pre packaged cookies, and more. I have heard that the cereal milk soft serve is very good although I have only tried the birthday cake slice. It was chilled so not room temperature but still pretty good. I loved the frosting. Not the best cake I have had but worth a try. Although, it is very overpriced, a pretty small piece cost $11. There is nice indoor seating so you do have the option to eat there. May not go out of my way for this but definitely fun and you will get a good dessert.
