Had an excellent meal here with a friend while visiting Boston. The service was amazing and the food tasted incredible. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend this establishment!

Went on a date to Rasa String Quartet by Candlelight at First Church of Cambridge and stopped by Nubar for a meal and drink beforehand. I had the Hunter's chicken, which was juicy and tender and delicious, and my date had the Strip Steak Aux Poivre, which she said was good but a little salty. I also had the Ward 888 drink, which was so good- if you like bourbon with some good fruit juices this is a delicious drink. The server/bartender was great. He was friendly, helpful, and on top of things without being overbearing. They are pricey but it's well worth it.

Nubar is a neighborhood favorite for me. Needed a quick dinner to make a show in town, Service was excellent. Some dishes were excellent. i.e., the mixed greens salad, polenta, couscous, and shortrib flatbread tho meat wasn't tender and flatbread could have been hotter. The salmon was a bit dry. Baklava was ok but not typically flaky, lots of nuts. When we were seated at a 2 person table, I asked if we could sit at adjoining 4 person table instead, hostess said no, they might need it for bigger party, but it was 5pm, people didn't satrt coming until later, and that table was still empty when we left. I thought the hostess could have been more accommodating.

For our monthly small lunch group (6), Nubar is ideal: menu with interesting variety, very good service, and very pleasant and acoustically mild space. The quality of the food is very good and the portions just right. Nubar is one of those rare restaurants that is often overlooked but offers a comfortable and understated experience focused on the diners and not the "brand."

We've been coming to NuBar Great for a while. Have not been there for sometime. However, although the service was very good and atmosphere was great - food was the disappointment. Medium rare steak came out well done - the winter salad is not really very much to it considering the price I guess. The fish sandwich was also not great. I was expecting grilled and it was fried. That's probably my mistake though. Overall because the food itself, I can't recommend however, as I said, the service and general atmosphere was nice. I always love sitting at the bar too.

The setting was very comfortable - quiet and spacious. An easy place to enjoy a quiet conversation. The staff were very welcoming, our server graciously answered all our questions regarding the menu and had suggestions about some of the dishes. Service was prompt. We each tried something we hadn't had before. Both our dishes were delicious. I'm very much looking forward to returning.

One of my very favorite Harvard Square dining spots. Interesting selection of food & appetizers. I always eat in the bar area mostly because bartender Jim is so wonderful: recommends dishes, attentive & interesting. Fairly quiet in the bar, too. High top tables in the bar, some w banquet seating (like a booth in one side). Reg height tables in multiple sections in the other room. Usually no reservation needed. Fireplace seating area w low tables is nice, too. Great meeting spot before or after concerts, etc. We stayed in the hotel one March and enjoyed that, too. Lovely room w big windows. Valet parking avail for that

My overall impression is that it’s a “standard good American restaurant”: nothing too special about it but also no obvious downside. It’s an easy option for bringing guests or for special occasions when having trouble deciding. They have a relatively narrow price range for the main dishes, i.e. they are not cheap but also don’t have super expensive option. Service is great.

Nubar is a cozy place with good food right out of Harvard Square in the Sheraton Commander Hotel. I had a tempura fish sandwich and my friend had chicken shwarma. Both were well prepared, as was salad. Prices reasonable, and the server was attentive. The dessert, pumpkin cheesecake, was a perfect end to the meal. For a place well situated in the Harvard Square area but relatively quiet, I recommend it.

?‍♀️This is the bar and restaurant in the hotel we stayed in?Because the hotel’s executive corridor was being renovated when we checked in, we also had breakfast here~ ✨The place here is not big, but the environment is good, the decoration style is very grand, especially the lamps are very unique ~ the tables and chairs are relatively simple and neatly placed ~ there are also very exquisite low tables and low stools, as well as a fireplace to set off the atmosphere. Overall The style is quite distinctive???Dishes: The variety of dishes is very rich. We were spoiled for choice ~ we took a little of each to try ~ not only the variety is rich, but the taste is also delicious? There are also after-dinner fruits? and various flavors of yogurt to choose from. Both sweet and savory are available, as well as delicious bread and baked original and chocolate muffin cakes ~ each one is very solid!?Although the executive corridor is under renovation, the place is also very nice? The food is also delicious?

The Christmas Food Menu was thoughtful and the restaurant lighting was just right, Ambiance was Welcoming .. Problems: Each in our party suffered Stomach cramps After eating. It lasted for 2 Days ! Please Make SURE that ALL KITCHEN STAFF HAVE CLEAN HANDS at All Stages of Food Prep , Cooking, And Serving. Very Critical to have Proper Food Hygiene Thank you Kindly

After making a reservation weeks in advance, we were given a table in the back room and then no one spoke to us for 20+ minutes. We left and got dinner elsewhere. We had been going to NuBar consistently over the years on Christmas Eve as it is next door to the church where we go for a service but probably won't again.

Only got drinks but just felt the service and cocktails were ok. The atmosphere you'd expect from a space thatnis also the breakfast dining room of a mid-tier hotel.
