The real deal. Great, authentic food here at a reasonable price. If you're in the area I would recommend giving them a try.

Even better than it's always been with the addition of the deer parklet for outdoor dining in the square!Vegetarian options: Fantastic and flavorful vegetarian options, including some of their best and most affordable lunch specials. The samosa chloe is one of my go-to favorites in the area

I was a disappointed the other night. My partner and I ordered and I was excited to try their chaat. I chose the Paneer chaat and received what seemed like a bowl of liquid yogurt along with some raw paneer. Not sure if that was what I should have been expecting but sent this picture to an Indian friend and she was equally confused.

This is one of those places that you think is going to be really great because it is counter service with those hole in the wall vibes and is cash-only. However, I found it to be just okay. You do get a solid amount of food for the price, but I didn't think the quality was anything special. I had the Lamb Vindaloo and the lamb wasn't especially tender, which was a disappointment to me. The gravy itself had a nice flavor, but wasn't unique in any way. I did appreciate that the plate came with both rice and naan, so it was filling. Don't think I'd bother to come back, since I've had better Indian in the area.

This is probably going to be a very unpopular review for die hard Punjabi Dhaba fans out there but someone has to be real.I’ve eaten a few times here and have always wondered what the hype is. Yes, it’s a casual no frills derelict looking “dhaba” like eatery in busy Inman square in Cambridge, very popular with the college crowd & young professionals who find the food good & the cost cheap.Anyhow, being Indian, a darn good cook myself, I find very few dishes that meet my high standards. We ordered dal Punjabi, Masaledaar choley, half tandoori chicken and aloo gobhi.First off, I’ve always lamented the fact that every Indian restaurant is so stingy with portions while charging $$$ Punjabi dhaba is worse. Their portions are tiny, meant for one person, maybe two can share if you order multiple dishes like we did. $11.99 for dal, watery choley, and overcooked gobhi aloo that came in a tiny take out container and $13.55 for dry, overly salty tandoori chicken that clearly was old, was quite disappointing. Usually their dal is delicious, but yesterday it was just thick and unappetizing. The only reason we ordered from Punjabi dhaba was that we were in the area & craving Indian food. Indian restaurants aren’t my first choice to go to & there’s a reason for it. Most restaurants are mediocre or just awful.

Overall I would definitely recommend this place. It genuinely does have authentic Punjabi food, so don't get the stuff that isn't (aka the coconut chicken). Unfortunately when I went my food was a bit cold, BUT it was tasty so I still think it was good. I will still definitely try again here because I just know they're good just not that much when I went.
