All the food was either room temperature or actually cold. Cold. Pretty bland as well. We were literally the only table there the entire time but service was abysmal. Won't be back. Especially with so many other ethiopian options in boston area.

I normally love Ethiopian food but this was below average. A noticeably small quantity of food for a veggie combo. The items weren't very flavorful. The service was incredibly slow, and at the end, the server got our check wrong twice. Also usually a single veggie combo feeds two people and here the portions were very small.

I was very disappointed. I love Ethiopian food so much and I never thought this place would be this much of a disappointment. As soon as we arrived we knew right away we made a wrong decision by come to this restaurant. The restaurant was empty and there was no aroma of Ethiopian food upon arrival. The restaurant was cold and there was lack of soap in the bathrooms. We ordered our food and less than 10 minutes later the food came out. As soon as we saw the plated food, we knew for certain that the food will not be delicious. Everything on the plate was let over food that was served. The food was cold, flavorless, and not freshly made. We ate as much as our stomach could handle and left the rest of the food because it was too hard to finish. It was the first time ever eating at an Ethiopian restaurant and leaving left over food on the table. With that being said, I would not recommend this restaurant at all. We did not feel like we were eating at a restaurant nor eating the delicious flavors of Ethiopian cuisine.

The service was wonderful. Lentils are great. Beef had a lot of flavor but it was kind of dry.

We ordered a veggie combo and tibs for takeout for 3 people and were disappointed. It was a Saturday around 7pm so it's not as if it was a low volume time, but the injera was extremely dry/tough and tasted quite old, which made everything else hard to eat. The tibs were quite spicy and a little tough. The veggie combo was decent, comparable to what I've had at other Ethiopian places. We did have plenty of leftovers though.

Yummy food. The atmosphere is a little stark - tiled floor and high ceilings were pretty but also really loud. I will go back for more nonetheless.

Simple Ethiopian cafe with great portions for the prices. Loved the vegetarian combo dish. The waiter was attentive and nice. Could have a little more flair but nothing to complain about!

Delicious food. Cute place. Good music.

They serve old MICROWAVED injera, no shame in their game. I’ve never seen any habesha people eating there so that says enough on its own. If you’re looking for good Ethiopian, look elsewhere.

They serve MICROWAVED injera. Portions are horrible. This is Ethiopian food for white people not for habeshas. Microwaved injera, unbelievable people.

Ordered takeout from Sheger tonight. Our family hasn't had Ethiopian food in years. I forgot how spicy it is! We ordered the Doro Wot (chicken), samosas, and zilzil tibs (beef). The samosas have lentil filling. The bread was good but honestly it was so spicy I couldn't finish my dish. For others who are sensitive to spice be sure to request mild!

What a disappointment. We love Ethiopian food but won't be back here. We were there early in a Saturday evening, first customers of the night We asked for the combo for two, but without beef (it comes with beef, lamb and chicken) but told that there was not possible, instead had to order veggie combo and another main dish. So we ordered lamb, which was overcooked gristly parts with little meat. My wife couldn't chew it so we also ordered chicken, which was a pot of onions and sauce with two little pieces that were together three bites of tough overcooked meat and an egg, for $18. And the injera that came with it tasted like plastic was melted to it. Even the water was bad here, tasted like saltwater. Ended up paying $56 for what should have been the $32 combo, my wife got indigestion, and I had bad dreams of getting stuck in a terrible Ethiopian restaurant. Never again
