This spot is worth visiting. They serve large portions for fair rates. Constantly neat and with fantastic character. Would recommend to others.

As an MIT student, I'm a regular here for lunch. During peak times there's always a long line, but it moves very quickly. The price is fair for the portion size and convenience. The food isn't fancy but it's simple and tasty. The meats and vegetables taste good (I've never had an issue with undercooked meat) and I like getting the soba noodles. Overall, this is a decent, quick go-to place for lunch.

There was a *rock* in my teriyaki chicken which I took a big bite out of. The guy behind the counter was super rude and indignant when I asked for my money back and told me "it was probably from the vegetables." I've never found a rock in frozen vegetables, so whatever's going on there stay away. Aside from the rock and the service, the food was solidly okay

Excellent food, nice service. Always get hibachi chicken with no veggies, they give you more chicken.

This place is basically an exact clone of the Sarku Japan restaurant chain you see in many malls. The food (especially the chicken teriyaki) is very similar in terms of taste, quality, and price. The food comes out pretty quick as long as the line isn't too long. The bubble tea is pretty good as well, but I've never tried the sushi, so try it at your own risk. Still, it's a decent and reliable option given the limited restaurants on/near the MIT campus.

Dumplings taste good but are insanely oily. My friend bit into one, and oil shot out of the bottom and spilled all over his pants.

Noodles taste synthetically made. But, get their bubble tea. Also, their deserts are good. Say no to sushi.

It's a decent place for hot, Asian food when you're too lazy to walk anywhere farther than the MIT stud! I had the hibachi fried rice with beef teriyaki ($6.75), and it was pretty good! The meat was a little salty, but I overall enjoyed the dish. I liked the mix of steamed vegetables (broccoli and cabbage?) with the fried rice, beef teriyaki, and mushrooms. Shinkansen also sells pre-made, affordable sushi and boba, and I definitely want to try both in the future. However, I've heard that the boba is pretty bad because it's pre-made, making the pearls hard and grainy (though I've haven't tried it yet). Update: I tried the seaside combo, which is basically 12 pieces of a salmon avocado roll for $6.79, and it was really tasty! I think it's a great price for the quality and quantity.
