I've been coming to the Field for years, and I totally recommend it as a great neighborhood spot with the BEST staff. The bar and restaurant are so cozy for the winter and the Field patio is the SPOT when it gets warmer. I love the chicken and chips, which come with honey mustard sauce, but nothing beats sitting at the bar and chatting with the awesome people who work there.

I used to live down the street from this spot many years ago, and had the chance to visit while in town. Still cash only. Same feel. Friendly bartender. Beer selection has definitely changed in 15 years, but, ya know, what can one expect. Good times, nice to have spots like this, and Charlie's Kitchen, that are solid and familiar.

CASH ONLY!!! I've walked by the Field a few times and heard about their patio in the back with outdoor seating in the summer (a rare thing in Cambridge!!). It always looked dark and a little grungy but I finally went in last night and was pleasantly surprised. It's a cozy little Irish bar with a decent amount of seating, a pool table and darts. As mentioned in almost every post, it is cash only but there's an ATM in the bar and there's lots of ATMs in central square. It is a little dark inside but not too bad. The beers were reasonably priced and they had an okay selection to choose from. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be coming back!

To the field : I worked there for over a year . Nice and helpful employees. Although Very disrespectful managements staff's . I would never go back to that bar indeed . I also felt like they were prejudice in some ways . Just my experience working there !!
