This place brings back the charm and soul of Harvard Square that's been missing for so long, and deserves nothing but five-star reviews IMO. I visited the bar on St. Patrick's Day, and from the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant faces south, so the sun was pouring in, and the vibe was just perfect. The owner greeted us with a smile and showed us to our seats right away. And let me tell you, the menu had something for everyone - even the pickiest of eaters would find something to love here. Since it was St. Paddy's Day, we went all out and ordered the corned beef and cabbage and fish and chips, and boy, were they delicious! I've never had corned beef and cabbage that tasted so good, and the fish and chips were fried to perfection. But that's not even the best part - a live band started playing at 4 PM, and the music was fantastic (I can't recall the band that was there tonight but it was Bon Iver Vibes A++). They have live music every Sunday. It's a top-notch spot that I can't wait to go back to again and again.

The sandwich was mediocre, lemonade was okay, not very exciting experience. Never want to come back again ~

1st time here. Food was really yum and well priced. A friend and I split Salade Nicoise, mushroom risotto and fish tacos. All excellent.

I'm housesitting nearby and was drawn in by the incredible name (and the reviews mentioning mushroom risotto). It was delightful! Had a delicious ginger beer for only two bucks (a steal!). The mushroom risotto was AMAZING--mushroomy and cheesy goodness all the way down, rice cooked perfectly. And finished off with a great, perfectly one-person sized creme brulee for $4. I couldn't try the cocktails that day, but the people at a table nearby seemed to really enjoy theirs. Good ambiance, and the wallpaper in the bathroom is hilarious! It wasn't too crowded cause it was about 5 pm and it seems like the place has only been around a few months. Y'all should come so it's still around the next time I'm in Cambridge!

We absolutely loved this place! Came in on a rainy Wednesday night before a show - the place was nearly empty, which gave us a little pause, but we were hungry and had a deadline and we were seated immediately so that was great. I’m sure their attendance was t helped by the weather nor the construction right outside their back door. The server (only one there at the time) was lovely and personable, and while she told us she’d just started there she went out of her way to get whatever information we needed and was prompt and attentive throughout;m. The first thing that really surprised us was when my daughter ordered lemonade, which was met without a blink, and when our server brought the lemonade she said “I hope it’s ok, we don’t have lemonade so I made it for you.” We ended up all trying it and it was so good that four of the six of us end up ordering it!The next surprise was a nice little courtesy, when my wife and I ordered a Guinness to split and they brought it already in two small glasses - nice touch. The biggest nice surprise was the food, which we all agreed was very good… but the fish and chips was legitimately some of the best I’ve ever had - big chunks of fish with a light but flavorful batter, not the thick bready coating that sometimes masks lower-quality fish (we later learned that the owner gets all of his fish fresh every day from a local guy in Gloucester). It was also served both with a lovely tartar sauce and a curry sauce that my wife could not stay away from. And unlike one of the other reviewers we all found their fries to be fantastic (to the point where I got to eat fewer of mine than I wanted because the vultures kept swooping in).The final surprise was the manager coming out to show and describe some of the artisanal sodas they have to one of our folks. We had a lovely conversation with him in which he told us that they had only really been in business for a few months and were just getting their feet under them. They all seemed very lovely and appreciative of our patronage… while the level of service and attention might not be scalable in a full-house situation, everything was good enough that we will absolutely go back and encourage all our friends to do the same. This is a great new, local-owned establishment that is trying to honor the history of Harvard Square and its businesses and keep it from becoming entirely dominated by chains. Absolutely recommend!!

We had a private event here recently and it was so cozy! It’s the perfect size for a group of 20 or so with a nice long bar and plenty of nooks for quieter conversation. They have a full bar and our bartender made some excellent mocktails for our NA guests. Highly recommended for a medium-sized, casual, private party.

My friends and I spent Christmas Eve at The Sea Hag and had a lovely time! Did you know that they host private events? Come and experience homegrown hospitality in the near-heart of Harvard Square! Highly recommended!

The best hamburger is here. Clean, not soaked wet and actually fresh lettuce and simple. Actually friendly and reasonable staff too ?

Had a lovely dinner there a couple of weeks ago. The place was comfortable, the service was great. They have just opened. We had a mushroom risotto, Caesar salad and fish and chips. The portions were a perfect size for me.

I had been to this restaurant when it was boathouse. The environment is similar and pleasant. All the beers on draft are kind of pricy while the bottled beers are basic. The food is okay but I would not recommend the fries. There is a step to enter the restaurant.

What a great addition to the taverns of Harvard Square. It is like Grendel's for grown ups. A very reasonable and well curated beer and wine list and while I didn't eat, the food looked and smelled delicious. Best of all it attracts a great, eclectic crowd. Artists, professors, writers and entrepreneur s. I am certainly adding this privately owned gem of a small business to the few great places operating in Harvard Square.

great new place! $11 lunch special runs most of the day, which is fantastic, service was good & so was my sandwich and muffin (caprese sandwich, cinnamon toast muffin).

The scallops with mushroom risotto was one of the best dishes I've had in a long long time! Absolutely worth a visit.

Had one of the strangest restaurant experiences last evening at Sea Hag. Entered at 7:30, few diners there and place had very empty and unwelcoming feeling. Though waitress nice, unclear whether she was providing table service or you order from bar. Food mixed; apps good, one entree stone cold and another barely edible. As we ate, diners entering restaurant were turned away, so our group of 4 and some guy in the way back on a computer only people in restaurant. Very surprised the Globe gave the place such a good review last weekend.

This is a beautiful new place in Cambridge. We were visiting from out of town and the service was great! Food and drinks were good and we loved the bathroom ?
