Food takes forever or simply doesn't come. Waiters are trying their best but the restaurant is severely understaffed. Waited 45 minutes to get scrambled eggs, bacon and toast & my coffee never came. Nice hotel though.

I was actually surprised that I was so underwhelmed. I made a reservation but was not given reservation seating. I was seated in the middle of the restaurant with no view. The website said I picked the last of two reservations and when I arrived the place was far from crowded, which is why I couldn't understand my seating placement. My waitress took a very long time to come over to us, then Our order took a very long time to arrive. The food was just ok, nothing spectacular. My waitress was not very attentive and did not refill my water until I had finished my meal, nor did she check on us. On top of that, I had to wait a while for my check to arrive. I must say I expected more especially given the reputation of the Hyatt Hotel in which the restaurant was located.

Contrary to other recent reviews, I found the service at this restaurant to be excellent. I ate here 9 times during one stay and experiences breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Let’s be frank - this is a standard hotel restaurant offering relatively unambitious food, but a couple of dishes (Mahi fish and Corn bisque) were particularly good. There were no specials available on any of the four occasions I visited for dinner.

The food is consistently fresh and yummy, employees gives great customer service. I love the cleanliness and vibes. I highly recommend this spot.

Stayed at the Hyatt for swimming weekend at MIT. It was convenient to eat at Hotel. We tried dinner 2x and lunch once. Every time we were extremely disappointed. To start off with they hotel was full to capacity. So why was the restaurant understaffed. Terrible management. The wait staff and kitchen could not handle the crowds. Service was so slow. Food came out wrong and cold. My daughter was actually served raw chicken fingers. Could have gotten very sick. it really was a shame because they have a nice menu and the restaurant is set up very nice. Not sure what we will do next year as the team stays here every year but all the families felt the same way. we need to find an alternative to eat next year.

My friend and I went for dinner on a Friday night. We've been going in December every year after an annual event, and for a few years the bar area was perfect. Then there were several years of a swim meet convention staying in the hotel on that night which meant for some reason the bar area was overrun with parents and teenagers (?!). I decided to avoid that problem by making dinner reservations, hoping to be seated away from the bar area. To my surprise, when we arrived, the place was quiet, no marauding teenagers (sorry, I really don't have anything against teenagers except when they are roaming around a bar area that's supposed to be quiet). Anyhoo, we were delighted to be seated at a tall table in the bar area, next to a couple who were reading (quiet!). I had a burger and fries, and my friend had the sliders. Both done to perfection. Our drinks came quickly and our server was super -- friendly, accommodating when we wanted to move away from a noisy quartet, checking on us just frequently enough. We had a lovely evening, able to talk without distraction. When it's like that Zephyr is really the perfect place for an evening out --- easy to get to by car, relaxing atmosphere, complimentary validated parking, good food, and a beautiful view of the Charles River.

I ordered mussels but although on the menu, they were not available. I then ordered the meatless burger. without bun. My companion had ordered the hamburger without bun. Both were overcooked and dry. the asparagus, a side dish, were overcooked. However, the martini was excellent and my companion had nothing but praise for his vermouth on the rocks. The service was fine.

The service here is great. The staff are excellent and on point. Try the swordfish dish if you come here.

If you are staying at the Hyatt and need a convenient location, Zephyr is much better than most hotel-based restaurants. The food was average, service/ambiance great, party next to us overly loud - just unfortunate for us.

My sister was visiting her son at MIT so we went down for dinner. She had previously stayed at the hotel and dined at the restaurant and said it was good. Shortly after we ordered, the waitress told us that one of the salads was unavailable. Then, they were out of swordfish. Huh? We're in Boston. How do you run out of fish? Then, the waitress said they found a few pieces of swordfish for my sister and sister-in-law. They ate it and said it was only ok. Hubby's prime rib was full of fat and gristle and very rare. My salmon was okay but the rice that accompanied it was very dry. I could go on about other items not available (chocolate ice cream?) and long waits for food, but you get the picture. Don't bother. Maybe the hotel is good for lodging but not the restaurant. Find somewhere else to eat.

No idea why so many negative reviews. The cocktails:delicious and beautifully presented, appetizers: burrata heirloom salad and corn bisque- outstanding, entrees: spicy gnocchi and meatless burger were absolutely amazing. We got seated right away, our lovely waitress was kind to recommend but matcha tiramisu and key lime cheesecake which we both LOVED. Moral : sometimes you do get lucky at a hotel restaurant ... go and enjoy!
