Met my wife at the Hong Kong in 1970? My fiance had arranged a blind date for my Friend Frank. and we double dated one night. I began dating this girl when I got back from the Med and broke up with my fiance' and went to this restaurant many times. We unfortunately left there in late 1973. I sure miss the Hong Kong and it's food. I really liked it and will have to go again when I'm back there some day.

This is a really great restaurant. The food and service is always good (both dine in and take out). The decor is pretty awesome. I absolutely love it! And in the lobby they have two fish tanks. This used to be such a popular thing in restaurants back in the day. This place still has them. It’s great. I feel like many restaurants have gotten very boring with the decor these days. This place hasn’t. So go for the food and the ambiance and enjoy!

Not sure why we have a better experience here than some others. But we like this place. Yes it's old, yes the fountain in the lobby doesn't work and they are lightly staffed. But we've never regretted a visit. The ornate details here are worth the trip alone. Add the fact that the lounge set all the way in the back is so dark I need to use my phone to see the menu and it's got that old school feel many are looking for. Touch tunes and keno add to the fun. But let's get to the important things. Drinks are strong, and priced right. All day plates can be ordered with one or for just $13.00 two apps, a main and rice or Lo Main . We usually keep it simple, grab Rangoons (tasty and lots of them) plate with rice or Lo Main ( just ok) a few other apps (always good) and General Gau ( excellent, just a bit a heat and super crunchy) Service has always been good and we always have left overs. If you are looking for old school tasty Chinese give this place a try. It's been around for ever and who knows how many years it has left.

Horrible customer service. Horrible horrible horrible. I walked in around 11pm ish, guy at front desk screams “what do you want”? I asked if the kitchen was still open since they close at 1230. He said “hurry and place your order or leave”. So I left. This business won’t last

Note: Review is for the lounge. The Hong & Kong Restaurant in Chelmsford is a local, iconic establishment. Generations of local families were introduced to Chinese food here through the decades. The vintage decor and fish tanks remain.Bar is beautifully decorated (look at the ceiling!) and service was fast and efficient. One of the only late night bars in town. Recommended.

I used to love coming here and from experience tonight I went here with my family the guy who served us double charged us and treated my family wrong. The guy did not like the nationality of my family I wanted to say something to the manager but my family said let it be so instead of going to management I figured I would leave a review I will never go here again for the simple fact they treated my family wrong they treated them like they were below him then wanted a tip even though he added 31$$ gratuity in the bill he wanted more rudely said leave a tip in the table when the tip was already paid for through the card

I remember when it was always a good time.. dancing, dining room full.... big change, very little in the dining area as well as the bar. Patrons have changed as well. Hostile environment ..

Oh this was not good at all. Pork Fried Rice bland, Pu Pu Platter bland, Orange Chicken Bland, only good thing was the bottle of Sam Adams. The place was pretty quiet when we showed up, service was fast and cheerful, food came out quick but was not good, maybe their mixed drinks make up for it but would not be going back to see. Was hoping this would be better :(

If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, your search is over. This place has been around for over 60 years and is a staple of downtown Chelmsford. The interior looks like it's never been updated, but that helps add to the allure. Never an issue getting a table regardless of day or time, so give it a try.

Food was aweful. I love Chinese food and leftovers. The take out meal I got was so bad I ate only a 1/4 of it and threw out the rest. No flavor, greasy, doughy. It was disgusting and made my husband sick. Worst I've ever had. Was a great Chinese place when I was young...not sure what happened. China Mountain in N. Chelmsford does primarily take out, but is dar superior.

I pick up food for my sister who’s in a nearby nursing home. The woman at the front desk is always rude and acts like your disrupting her day by showing up. The decor is the same as it was in the 70’s but now it looks dark, dusty and dirty in there. I ordered a large crab rangoon and small fried shrimp for my sister. This time, the bag was stapled shut several times. I didn’t open it, but my sister said the crab rangoon had gone bad, and there were only 7 in the box. It cost $22.00 for the order to have to throw half of it out. The four fried shrimp were good. She had been looking forward to that for days. She normally loves the food from there, otherwise, I wouldn’t go there. Once I ordered General Gau’s Chicken there since I was getting food for her, and the chicken was hard and chewy. I wouldn’t recommend it. The food is expensive, customer service from the woman at the front desk is awful and the food isn’t good. It costs so much to eat out these days. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere where they appreciate your business and the food is good.
