Not bad. The food wasn't the best I've had before but it's made fresh so that's a plus. We got the tacos and they were standard tacos you'd get from most places. It was a little shocking that they added sour cream into their tacos. The quesadilla was nice though. A nice crunch to it. And the nachos were filling and enough for multiple people!

What an awesome find! While at work in Chelsea a coworker and I needed a place to eat lunch. Naturally, we both seriously enjoy Mexican food and thankfully we found this place. I had a burrito and my coworker ordered four tacos, and both dishes flavorful, fresh, cooked to perfection and therefor devoured. The salsas were absolutely amazing!! I really mean really amazing. I always judge a restaurant on how good the salsa is, well it's 10 out of 5 stars. As for service our waitress was awesome. She was quick on her feet, professional, polite and made sure my friend didn't settle with just three tacos, she could see the hunger in his eyes. Hungry? Eat here! You're welcome.

The tacos here are absolutely delicious and affordable. Everything is so flavorful and fresh. I only wish the tacos were a little bigger. I can't wait for their bar to open! I'll probably be there more often than I should.

We found this place entirely by accident, and omggggg I'm so glad we did! It was completely empty when we got there around 7:30 on a Wednesday, though a few parties arrived by the time we left. It is super cozy and well-decorated, and the menu (they have both Spanish and English menus available) has appetizers, tortas, larger entrees, seafood, and tacos. We went for 3 tacos each--barbacoa, al pastor, and campechano-- and they were so good we ordered another round!! We got 9 tacos and a soda for $32 and left full and happy. The service was impeccable, the accompanying sauces were delicious, and I just wish I lived closer so I could eat there all the time!!

Gave it another try and it was much better this time around. Ordered the pozole an it was less fatty than the last time, food came extremely fast and delivery guy actually came inside the building. I had pozole from a different restaurant and it just wasn't the same. I did take a huge risk ordering it again but wanted them to redeem themselves lol everything I wanted

The waitress taking my order wasn't completely fluent in English but she got the job done. Very friendly people. This Mexican restaurant has plenty of tables and the food is good. Since they are relatively new, they don't serve alcohol yet. Portions for the entrees are pretty big and filling. The entrees come with two sides and some tortillas. I had beef fajitas and really enjoyed the rice that comes with it. It was nicely seasoned and contains vegetables. The hibiscus drink was pretty good too, not watery nor weak tasting.

Coming from a state in the Midwest that houses some of the best taco trucks around, I was skeptical when I moved to Boston! The tacos at La Chula are the BEST in the Boston area. You won't be disappointed! The tacos al pastor were well marinated, fresh, and jam-packed with meat! Thanks La Chula for making me feel a little more at home here in New England.

This place is authentic! I was born in Southern California so I appreciate good Mexican. Try the grilled cactus that comes with Parrillada meat plate (under Specialties)

We had the barbacoa, chorizo, canasta, and al pastor tacos. All were terrific. Loved all of the sauces. Service was awesome. Accompanying chips and salsa were satisfying as well. More people should know about and frequent this restaurant!

Great food with friendly staff. They do have a small parking lot that can fit less than 10 cars. Just that it's very small with a sports bar feel and the TV on with sound, it's not like a restaurant feel for larger groups.

Tried them a couple times for take out, the first time with grubhub I had the super nachos with 2 meats and the churros for dessert, and recently had the churrasco plate in which I picked up at the restaurant. I'm was very happy both times with the quality and pricing. The churros are a must if you are looking for something sweet. Two thumbs up for this place.

Great Mexican option downtown Chelsea! La Chula is a semi-new Mexican restaurant right across from City Hall. The menu features tacos a la carte, enchiladas, fajitas, and a few main dishes. My husband and I went for lunch on a Saturday to try it out and were pleased! The interior of the store-front restaurant is clad with dark woods and metals with some bright accents. There is booth, table, and bar seating available. Our server brought us chips and salsa immediately after we sat down in a comfy booth. I chose a barbacoa taco and gordita (filled fried tortilla) with potatoes and chorizo. The taco was delicious-shredded flavorful beef, cilantro, and onion in an orange tortilla. The gordita was crispy and came with smashed red potatoes, chorizo, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My husband chose a beef burrito and our meal came out to around $17 before tip. We'll definitely be coming back soon!
