Great but super busy and incredibly pricey. Tasted great and the staff tried really hard to keep up with the insane demand. Only one table to sit at. Just one. It had 4 seats. It is meant to be a take out place. Great bathroom.

Hit the spot! I stopped by after some shopping and had the carnitas quesadilla. It was the perfect portion and it also came with pico de gallo, sour cream and guac. The service was fast too, I only had to wait a few minutes and this was around 1130 so they were getting quite busy. Very small place, most people were doing take out. They have some outdoor tables too. I'll defiantly be back next time I'm in the area!

I actually just left this place and had to write a review immediately because of how impressed I was. I hate to say it but I'm personally a little bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food - but this was amazing. Alongside great service and a friendly, smiling staff this place doesn't miss.I ordered two chicken tinga tacos, wolfed em down and immediately ordered two more because of how impressed I was lol. Finding authentic tacos in Boston has proven to be a little difficult but these really hit the spot with great attention to detail. I love that they're served with solely onions, cilantro, and radish instead of beans, rice and cheese etc and the addition of the hot sauce on the side as well as the wedge of lime really make the experience hit close to home. The chicken was delicious and well seasoned without being too messy and over the top and the handmade tortilla was delicious. All in all, great quality - no fuss but I also noticed they had a good amount of appetizers and sides if you're looking to add a little more to your meal. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Have been eating here a long time and everything I've tried here is top quality Mexican. I personally love the Chicken tinga quesadilla.

Chilacates is a great place for lunch or a quick bite of flavorful Mexican food! Got the birria tacos and would recommend to others. The birria tacos are some of the best in the Boston area IMO! The indoor seating is small but since it's quick service, I've never had to wait for a table.

I'm sorry to write a mediocre review, but our experience was sub-par in comparison with other taquerias. Convenient location near a mall with a free parking lot. Beautiful interior decor, clean restrooms. The first issue is that there were no prices on the menu, which makes it unfair for customers. Prices are pretty high, $16 for 3 biria tacos, which were very greasy and salty. The chicken burrito was good and fairly priced, under $11. Seating was not so comfortable, either the table is too high or the chairs are too low. They don't provide real utensils, only disposable, and no plates for sharing. Also no cups and free water, as seen at Tango Mango for example. Lastly, the cashier lady was not so friendly or service oriented. She was too busy around lunch time, taking care of walk-in customers and also phone orders. Somehow other places manage to do it better and make customers feel welcomed and appreciated.

NOT SAFE FOR VEGETARIANS. I specifically ordered a veggie tostada, but I received an order filled with chicken. Since it was to-go, I couldn't rectify the issue. Staff need to be more careful with following the order tickets.

This place is awesome. The burritos are the freshest around. And the prices are shockingly reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

We came here based on the reviews on Yelp. We tried a burrito with chicken tinga, two taxied with Chile verde, and a tostada with the grilled chicken. We thought the food was very good and will definitely come back. The flan looked good but we were too full. Will try it next time! Wanted to try other things as well so will do next time.

Birthday dinner was delishes. I had the lamb with wild pilaf and neighboring is the cod. A few perfect sized dessert shots. Service was great from host to server.

Consistently excellent and fresh. Have loved this place for years! You can’t go wrong with any menu item we have tried almost everything over the years. Their breakfast burrito is one of my favorite foods ever.

Overall really good Mexican restaurant. I think people do a lot of takeout here. Interior is super cute and cleanly. The menu had a ton of options including tacos, burritos, salads, bowls, and even enchiladas. They also had a few specials which were Burria tacos and churros. Another thing to note is they do have a kids menu if you are coming with your family. The one thing I will say is it is extremely expensive. Two tacos were 16$. They did have a lot of toppings though.

Everything was fine, if not bland. The proportions in the burritos were terrible, very little pico, carne asada (despite the upcharge), or guac (again, despite the upcharge). The lengua was tender and well cleaned, but was barely seasoned and could've used a little sear or something. If it were relatively inexpensive, I wouldn't care, but a $15 burrito shouldn't be 70% rice. There's a dearth of good Mexican food in the area, but it's worth driving to places like Taqueria El Amigo to get the good stuff. Even Los Amigos right in Newton is light-years better, and less expensive.

Torta way skimped on the filling.. was like bread with some beans on it and a smidgen of Al pastor. Go to Tenoch instead. Pass
