I can't tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed Al's Diner! Cute little diner in Chicopee MA. Our server MaryAnn was a delight and made our visit even more enjoyable. Feels like home when your there even with a cuss word or two! The food came out fast, good-tasting and filling. If nostalgia is what your looking for, this is the place! One more thing; the bathrooms are clean and are a little small. Think airplane or bus size;)Parking: Enough parking for all customers and then some.Kid-friendliness: A couple families were eating too. Kids really enjoyed eating there!

Was looking for a breakfast spot in the area and came upon this diner. After reading some reviews, I was looking forward to some nice food with an even nicer atmosphere. Unfortunately only one of those things came true. I ordered the Breakfast Special along with some Texas French toast. And of course, some coffee as a beverage. There was only one server and one cook from what I could see so it was no issue for me to wait a bit longer than normal to get my order taken and food delivered. Home fries were seasoned well and the ham was tasty. The toast was toasting and crunchy, just how I like it. The French Toast though? Oh boy was that good. It sort of reminded me of a Vanilla Custard but in French Toast form and I was loving it. Now we get to the unfortunate part. Service was lack luster to say the least. Both myself and my other patron were probably the only ones to not have been viewed as regulars. After the initial order taking and subsequent food delivery, that was the last we heard from our waitress. Understandable to some extent if the place was popping off the walls. But personally a few minutes taken from chatting with the regulars to ensure the other new customers have a refill of their beverage or even to ask if they need anything else would've bumped this review up a star or two. But we were one shade away from being invisible from the two regulars on either side of us. If you're looking for a bite to eat and don't mind that type of service then by all means, head here. If you value something like that, then maybe look elsewhere. But for me anyway, I'll probably not head back when there are other options that'll do what they do but better. Even if they're a bit of a longer drive to get there. Having to get good service on some sort of installment plan is something I'm not a fan of.

Basic no-nonsense good food. This review doesn't need 85 charters isn't the simple truth enough??????????

Such a homey feel to it! The food was amazing and despite it being busy, the service was fast and efficient.

The heavy set girl that works there is rude. From the moment I walked into the restaurant. I sat down with my son and she was already rude. I asked for coffee and the coffee wasn’t strong enough which was fine I didn’t want the coffee. There was a hair in my plate she was mad at me because I asked for a new plate. then I told her not to make my plate because of her attitude. I went up to pay for my pancake and two juices. She going to charge me for the coffee anyways. Then I told her why she charge me for coffee when I told her I didn’t want it. She ganna say” if you didn’t put a tone of milk in it.” First off they damn near til the cup of coffee where there’s barely no room for creamer. So there wasn’t a tone of creamer and even if still the coffee would have been stil strong enough. Then she throws the money at me for the coffee. She nasty and she miserable. I told her why she has an attitude she couldn’t answer the question and I also told her I’m not here to argue with her so I wasn’t sure why she has to be so nasty. I have came to this diner my whole life and I know she knows who I am. She weak and shouldn’t be working there as a waitress if you don’t have the patience for it. The smaller girl is loud but she is a great waitress.

This is a great old school dinner that has great, quick service, and decent food. It's nothing fancy and isn't trying to be. I always stop at Al's when visiting Chicopee, especially now that Bernies is closed. If you want a quick, VERY affordable breakfast, I recommend checking it out.

Google says it's open when it's not on Tuesday or Thursdays (or potentially any given day randomly) but when it is open the food is good. Don't trust Google saying it's open or not call the store.

A local gem. The pancakes are fantastic. I believe the owner does all the cooking and has for years. Consistency because 1 chef. It's a popular spot and sometimes you'll have to wait to get a seat but the food is worth it. So much better than ihop. I've tried a lot of local breakfast places between chicopee, noho, amherst and all the way out to ware. honestly al's diner has the best consistency, best pancakes great eggs and breakfast potatoes. They cut the ham straight off a massive hunk of pork too. Nice and fresh!! Good prices and it honestly can't be beat.Parking: I have seen the parking lot get full
