BEST donuts I've had in the Northeast so far. I've been looking for any donut shop that's not a Dunkin Donuts and it's been difficult to find. I'm from Canada and Tim Hortons is my baseline for a decent donut. Shire donuts are the same texture, extremely fresh and made to order. Absolutely delicious and can't wait to try more flavours!

Walking into Shire Donuts on a chilly winter Saturday morning, the smell is better than anything I could write... I'm not usually a fan of cake donuts, but thought I'd give them a try when a friend told me they served them warm; I've only ever had them "Second hand, cold." I had a hard time deciding what to get, really it was only going to be my son (14 yrs) & myself eating them, how many did we need? A full dozen, $20 to be exact, fully worth the time spent chatting with another Mom in front of me in the donut making line. Where you can stand to observe the talented Donut Artists creating your specialty orders, or step back for the gawking adults to have more room for their jaw to be on the floor. It's a lovely place, the kids sat quietly, watching the Donut Artist spin her magic, we talked about Santa, and Holiday plans. After I left I came back w more cash for a better tip from my car, simply because the time flew by! The taste is out of this world, the presentation is stellar, the shop is so clean you could eat off the floor if you chose too. The Staff is absolutely a joy! Well done Shire Donuts!Kid-friendliness: They have a step up wooden bench that's wide & sturdy for kids to stand on so they can watch the "Donut Artists" make the orders! I think that's a great idea. Someone must be a parent, and had to hold their kids up for way too long to see people cook. Thank you for this! Also, the donuts aren't huge, they're just big enough to finish without wanting to feel like you need to vomit afterwards.

I really can't say I liked this place. The person that waited on me wasn't wearing a mask and coughed all over my doughnuts and I should have left or complained because this isn't right.

Uh oh. I've lived in Pittsfield for a year but hasn't been on site, before. It was so, so good unfortunately. The textures... The flavors... The staff who seem to know they're sharing something special...I will want to go here a lot and eat too many donuts. A lot.
This is a unique place, so bring the grandkids out for a treat. They can watch their choice be made. The owners are great, too.

Easy ordering with large posters to see what you're getting. Very friendly staff who are quick and efficient. I try and stop by the Dalton location at least one Friday a month for a treat to bring to work.
