The fries rolls had a bit too much oil. Everything was pretty good otherwise. Their ginger dressing was top notch.

I was expecting so much from this place because of the location. We were seated quickly, no wait. The hostess was polite and professional.Positives: the menu is loaded with pictures and prices are standard for sushi in the US. There are many interesting choices and we tried the Hawaiian Roll- yes, a common roll, but they do their differently, adding in banana. While the banana was not to my taste, I removed it and enjoyed the rest of the roll, finding it delicious. (The banana made it just a little too sweet for me, but I am certain others might enjoy it as served.) We also ordered one of the rice-less rolls because my uncle prefers them and he was very, very happy with the Salmon Delight roll. (Thank you so much!)We also ordered the tempura. (Appetizer) and it was also delicious with asparagus, peppers, sweet potato, broccoli, eggplant and sadly onion. While I enjoy onion, we had told the waitress my uncle cannot have onion. I took the onion, no big deal, but had I not had the habit of checking his food for it, we would have had a serious medical concern. And we ordered a house salad with ginger dressing, delicious; miso soup with a side of rice, tea. Everything was good. I did have to remind about my rice.Negatives: only 1 outright negative and that was the fruit flies which ---- one of two negatives. I am still here and had to wait for my server to acknowledge me a few times. But the main negative is the fruit flies which hovered over the food. I really don't care because I have been all over the world, but I care for my older uncle who won't notice until too late.Vegetarian options: If you are a vegetarian, you can order your dishes with this in mind, offering suggestions. Because of my uncle's allergies and restricted dietary needs, we had to order very specific ways of preparing the food. They were very accommodating with only one mistake.Dietary restrictions: Let them know and pay attention, they do listenParking: Be aware parking is very challenging, with a very full lot. There is a parking garage as well. Wear your walking shoes.Wheelchair accessibility: Not a place for wheelchairs. Narrow pathways, lots of table with very little space between, switchback right as you enter. I do not recommend a wheelchair.

Love Genki! Great service, always packed so rsvp. Great deal and variety on sushi. My favorite is the scallop roll. All check out their lunch specials. Plenty of parking, great date night location.

Excellent selection, very inventive rolls, and fast service. The only thing I would add, is a kids menu:)

Very acceptable sushi. Small place in a big shopping center. Reasonably good selection of fish. I ordered the sushi dinner which is only 27.95 and has ten pieces of nigiri sushi, two rolls and miso soup. The soup was good and the mushrooms not over cooked.the sushi dinner had two salmon two tuna, two hamachi, eel, shrimp, and two other fish I didn't recognize. All was tasty. Good on them to give all fish on their dinner. Many places substitute egg or other less expensive selections one their dinner. The rice, which is the important part was well cooked and prepared for the nigiri. The rice on the rolls however was gummy and the individual kernels broken. But I'm not a roll fan unless it's Natto maki. Saki was hot and not oxidized. On the whole, a good experience. Not sure if I'd go out of my way to come back.

It's a very nice sushi spot. The lights are dim, and it's a decent size where you can have a conversation without raising your voice. There are tables and a section to sit in front of the Itamae (sushi chef). They have many options, and you can taste the freshness. They have Japanese alcohol

The sushi and fried chicken was great! Miso soup wasn’t the best and the salmon teriyaki definitely could have been cooked a little longer. But overall I enjoyed the food and the service was decent.

Definitely one of my favorite sushi places considering I do not eat seafood or meat. It has selected vegetarian options, but in my opinion they are pretty good compared to other places in town. Most of the locations are small and cozy, except for the Boston location. Parking is plenty and location is convenient. The service is very good. My favorite items to order are- Miso soup Yasai Gyoza Sweetie Roll - my favorite Hawaii Roll - 2nd favorite Order the gyoza sauce instead of soya sauce and have your sushi with that. the sauce is delicious.

This place was considered one of the best sushi spots near Boston years ago …. when there were no other competitors….though times have changed and so so has this place dramatically. I haven’t been here in years but thought I’d stop by for a quick bite for lunch. I voiced my concern that last time when I ordered a sushi take out the fish wasn’t fresh, so I specifically ask when their fish was delivered/pick up from the vendor(hint: I’m expecting the fish to be nothing less than fresh-quality). I ordered a simple combo(nigiri/spicy tuna) and a sushi appetizer. The nigiris were fresh and fine though it wasn’t so much for the spicy tuna…..first off there was so cucumber which is absurd, second- the tuna was brown and not fresh. I was shocked they didn’t even get my hint that I was expecting everything should be fresh as they should only give customers fresh products. I had to ask for a remake of the spicy tuna TWICE!…. I pointed out that the spicy tuna was brown color and not bright red. They first countered back and had the audacity to say that the tuna has different parts of different colors…..last time I check tuna was RED not brown. How are you going to insult a customer and not correctly educated them on your fish that you prepare to serve? Added that you’re okay serving not fresh quality of fish to customers and potentially make them sick-food poisoning? I was baffled by their response but after they eventually made a fresh roll for me …. It’s astonishing how your employees/managers ego’s blockade your company’s business. I’m being generous with my 2-3 star rating. Your portions have gone down added with the prices going up. Extremely overrated. I won’t be back in the near future. Not recommended.

We spent $100 on a variety of dishes: sushi, appetizers, entrees. There was only one okay item that we were able to finish and everything else was just not for us. We are big sushi fans and have had sushi all over the board but we couldn't even finish these - I would say this is sushi for someone who doesn't actually like sushi. If you're favorite way to eat salmon is smoked... You will love this place. If you want really good sushi... You will not.

Went here with the wife after a bit of shopping in Legacy Place. Seated immediately and orders were taken really fast. Got the shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer, which arrived quickly and was a portion. Great size to share if you come with a group of 3-5 people. Wife got a sake don bowl and I got chicken katsu with rice. Those meals came out quickly as well. The food was good, the atmosphere was great, and the service was fast. The only problem is the price. We were in Legacy Place so the mark up is kind of expected but not wanted. Besides a slight price complaint, really good place in Dedham.

I had a disappointing experience at Genki Sushi. When my party of 5 stopped by for a quick bite of sushi during our shopping trip, we were told by our waiter, Tina, that we needed to order a minimum of $15 per person to be served. We had ordered 3 sushi orders in total, which should have been sufficient for a quick meal. This policy left a bad taste in our mouths, and we won't be returning anytime soon.
