I had the pleasure recently eating at this restaurant. The unique atmosphere added to the excellent service and delicious food. The staff friendliness and attention to detail made the entire experience top notch. Highly recommend a visit for dinner or a drink in the bar ! A return visit is definitely on the agenda next time I am in the area .

Went there because my kids wanted pasta and meatballs and the bartender(guy with gray hair and goat tee) was rude and said they will not do take-out because it was too busy. Literally less than half the bar was full. It was a Wednesday night to put in perspective. Will NEVER go back and I just bought a summer cottage.

The baked Cod was fresh with great flavor. Came with salad, bread, sliced steamed carrots, and baked potatoe. Very good price.

Look at my other reviews - I rarely ever leave a 1 star review. I understand challenges restaurants face; lack of help, rising costs, etc. And I'm willing to be flexible when the staff is friendly and communicates challenges. Here's why this disaster of an excuse earned a 1 star. * Loud. Music blasting over our table from a speaker directly overhead. Can they turn our speaker off, or at least turn it down? Flat no. Can't and won't. No explanation and our server turned away to go back to the kitchen. * Wait, Part 1. 13 mins after taking our drink order, our server returns, "What do you want?" No apology that they're slammed, or any acknowledgment that she knows we've been waiting. Just straight to it, as if we're an inconvenience to our blonde server. * Wait, Part 2. We have 2 salads coming, which is notoriously quick and easy to get out to tables. But I'm looking at my watch out of sheer morbid curiosity, as it's another 9 mins. To be fair, that was their fastest performance of the evening, but after 20 mins since sitting down, we were getting hungry. So we asked for bread that arrived a few minutes before the salad. Not from our server, mind you, because she was nowhere to be seen. * Bad food warning, Part 1. How do you mess up a house salad? Drown it in dressing. Did we eat it? Only a few bites, and that was due to being very hungry at the time, but there's only so much iceberg lettuce dripping in oil that any person can take. * Wait, Part 3. It's been 45 minutes since we were seated. My kids have taken a few more bites of the drenched lettuce. My wife and I are about to cancel our order when our server arrives. Not with food, but to finally clear the salads. "Is there anything I can get you?" Just our food. Her response, "The kitchen is backed up with a large order." Again, no apologies. And no communication before that moment to set expectations that we would have a wait. Nothing. We were one of 2 tables (the other table was hers, too) that was still waiting on food. * Wait, Part 4. 56 minutes. A few minutes shy of an hour, and only 4 minutes before we were going to cancel, pay for the little we had, and walk out. We made a mistake by staying. Before I get there, our server dropped off our order as if we hadn't been waiting. Just one issue, no meatball with my daughter's order, which she claimed we hadn't ordered. Yeah, she was a real peach. * Bad food warning, Part 2. None of the food was mildly good. What do I mean? My wife ordered the Linguine Alfredo, and the sauce had no flavour, the noodles were soggy like they'd been sitting for a while, and the chicken was under done. One of my kids had the butter noodles with the meatball (supplied later), and there was virtually no butter sauce; noodles were dry. My other kid had the chicken parm, and the breaded chicken was like a patty from McDonald's, again no seasoning, though we cut it up and shared. My cheese ravioli with 2 meatballs was like a chef boyardi come to life, but we shared out of desperation. The kicker: My wife and kids left to get ready to get something else to eat while I waited to pay. The server asked if I wanted to box up anything, and I said no, handing her my card. When she came back, as I signed, she asked why I didn't want the leftovers (see picture). I hadn't planned on saying anything, but I shared the same feedback that I'm sharing now, including how long we had waited, the poor food quality, etc. Her response, "Well, they make the sauce from scratch." Really? That should make me reconsider everything I just shared? Even if that were the case, it doesn't make up for anything else I've shared. Final bill, $114 and change. Bottom line: I'll never go back, and I recommend avoiding at all costs.
