Place seems poorly managed. Other than the leaking / stained ceiling, your typical dive. Average drink 10-12. Second star only for bar service- they are friendly and pour them strong. Place had kind of a bad mildew smell - hopefully it is fixed soon.

Went to the sand dollar for the first time last week. My wife and I sat at the bar and did not get acknowledged for a good 10 minutes. The bartenders were all chatting it up with what it seemed like whoever they wanted to take home that night. Once we finally got served drinks and we're given menus, we were never spoken to again. After speaking to the other people around us at the bar, this is a usual occurrence for this place. We will not be back.

The “Sand Dollar” is a local joint that moved to this location a few years ago from about a mile away. It is a typical bar/pub with a bar, lots of tv’s, a dining side, music and karaoke at times. We came in mid afternoon on a quiet Sunday. Place was pretty empty. One couple at a high top on the dining side. Two different couples at either end of the bar and 4 others at a high top on the bar side. Pleasant country music was coming through the speakers all though a bit too loud for so few patrons. Except for the one guy at the bar high top who was loud and couldn’t put together one sentence without an”F” bomb in it, things were quiet. There are numerous large and small screen tvs that had football games on but the sound was off. Thankfully Mr. “F” bomb left shortly after we arrived. It took a few minutes to be seated as the hostess/waitress was in the back part of the restaurant prepping. We were told by our pleasant server to sit anywhere. Wechoose to sit at a high top on the dining side. We were promptly given menus and had our drink order taken. After a few timely minutes we placed our order. We started with naked chicken wings and the Mrs. ordered a burger with cheese and bacon with a side of broccoli. I ordered the Western grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, bbq sauce & onion strings with a side of fries well done. Considering the place was almost empty it took a long time for our food to come out. Probably 20 minutes. When it did finally came out the chicken wings came out with our meals. Appetizers of course shouldn’t be served with your meal. The wings were good but too late. Both of the rolls for our meals were not toasted which is not how most burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are served. As a result the rolls were a pretty tasteless brioche bun. My grilled chicken was good with lots of bacon and bbq sauce. Unfortunately my onion strings were not there as advertised. But don’t fret, we quickly found them on my wife’s cheeseburger. ? The switch was made and they were back where they belonged. Despite the missing strings and the taste less roll, everything else was very tasty and prepared well. The fries were very good and cooked as requested. They were somewhere between regular fries in size and steak fries. I’m not a fan of regular steak fries( too much more potato than fry) but because these were like a steak fry on a diet they were just the right blend of both for an excellent french fry. The Mrs. said her burger was very good also despite the blah roll, but her broccoli was room temperature at best and should have been warmer. Overall for our first try things were good not perfect. My 4 star service is a reflection of the service from the kitchen not our waitress. She did a fine job and none of my complaints are directed at her. As this was our first trip to the Sand Dollar and more things were good than bad we will be coming again some time to try something else on their pretty good sized menu.sit anywhereDietary restrictions: Didn’t see any GF options on the menu, which is a concern if we were to bring our grandson. Some things are inherently GF but would have to inquire about cross contamination first before bringing him.Parking: Right in front , lots of spaces.Kid-friendliness: Kids karaoke during the summer, kids menu and an arcade type claw machine for kids.

Great food! Great music! Great service! Owner Terry O'Connell and waitress Jordan went above and beyond to make it a fabulous evening for all four of us. We'll return often! And we'll tell friends and family!

After driving all day and arriving in town late at night, we had difficulty finding a restaurant whose kitchen was still open. After three other tries, we ended up at Sand Dollar. Their kitchen was also closed, but the bartender offered us pizza slices at the bar. She was kind and friendly, asking us about ourselves. The pizza was very good! While we were chatting about our 9 hour road trip, I mentioned that I had been looking forward to clam chowder, but at least I had all weekend to get some. There was a gentleman sitting two seats down from me, and he happened to be an employee. He offered to go into the kitchen and heat up some clam chowder for me. It was so tasty, and he made my whole day! The welcoming atmosphere and kindness of these employees more than made up for some frustrating things we had encountered before we arrived there. Sand Dollar is my kind of place - my new Cape Cod favorite!!

Really not great. Scallops over cooked. Baked cod without much taste. The atmosphere was nice -- seemed like a locals bar. So if you want to go for a beer, seems nice. Just don't expect much of food.

This place is a little dated, food is just ok. Great place for a few cocktails and listening to some live music. It's a fun place, very casual. I wouldn't recommend it for kids after 8pm. More of a drinking crowd

Our waitress barely acknowledged us. It took over an hour to get our food. The food was below average. The outdoor area was very smelly and made it hard to eat. We had to wait to pay our bill for half an hour because the waitress was signing karaoke with patrons rather than addressing customers. Will not return.
