TERRIBLE KITCHEN SERVICE!!! Waited almost an hour for our food. There were three groups that came in after us and received their food before us. Did the server forget to put in our order? Did the kitchen lose our order? Are we being ignored because we’re not the right skin color? I know people are working short handed, BUT REALLY? Needless to say we won’t be returning to this place to eat. I mean come on how long does it take make a burger with fries and a chicken sandwich with fries?

Very cool spot, outdoor seating, amazing mixed drinks and friendly staff. The food alone was definitely worth making the trip for. We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.

I got the donut filled with cheese over the tomato bisque and, sadly, struggled to finish it. It is something that I'm glad I had but will likely not do again. The plaintain fries and the mac n cheese stuffed pepper on the other hand....would 100% go back for. My partner had the shrimp mofungo and the portion was so huge he had to take more than half of it back, which just meant more delicious for tomorrow. They have outdoor heating lamps which is great as it starts to get colder too. BYOB

They did not disappoint, from the waitstaff to the food....one of the best food experiences ever!! Can’t wait to go back next season! Lobster Mac n cheese....impossible burger...chicken and waffle cone....oh my, don’t walk, run to food for thought and savor each bite!

Just grabbed take out there - they have contactless pickup which is great and easy. Their reopening post-Covid was something we were excited about and the food did not disappoint!In general everything at Food for Thought is inventive and elevated. You've had Mac n Cheese but their Lobster MAC is better, trust me. You've had chicken and waffles but theirs is unique and memorable. Certainly there are some original dishes like a Fenway frank poutine but they take familiar ingredients and bring them to the next level. This is the kind of place we've been hoping would come to Eastie. It's arrived.

Ordered dinner on Saturday night, so good, we ordered brunch on Sunday. Prices are great, portions are generous and the food is phenomenal. Dinner: plantain fries; steak tacos, grilled cheese and tomato soup; Italian dumplings--brunch: breakfast ramen; carbonara; man candy.

I often only leave reviews if I've had a negative experience to warn future patrons. However, I felt the need to break this pattern and leave a positive remark. Food For Thought has a hipster like menu fun for kids and adults. Restaurants like these typically only exist in Cambridge, Somerville, or Seaport (Boston) but East Boston truly has a gem here. Outdoor seating is available for those like myself that are a little more cautious about eating indoors. Great brunch & lunch menu. Owner personally greeted us. I give this 5 stars.
