Unfortunately our party was "welcomed" by an extremely rude and condescending hostess - stuffy and pretentious establishment.

The Atlantic Fish and Chop House is hands down the best restaurant on the island. The management, staff and food is top notch! Just the other day my fiancé and I had dinner and we tried the meatball which was a special, chard boiled oysters and split a filet. It was one of the best meals we have had in a while and are so glad the Atlantic is open again for the season! We can't wait to come back!

To the owner: Great waiter from Ukraine. Nice atmosphere and amazing views. Very good wine and food. However, none of our group of five will ever return due to an extremely unaccommodating hostess and manager (April 20, 2024) who refused to allow our five friends to join us by rigidly adhering to the Atlantic's policy of requiring one to order food when seated at a high top. This, despite the fact that it was 1:40 in the afternoon on a rainy day Saturday in April, and there were empty tables all around us. And despite the fact that there were not five seats available at the bar, so our friends had to leave. Oh, and I should add, that no one suggested that we move to the back bar, which was completely empty and would have accommodated all of us. But to top it off, rather than apologize, when the manager finally came over to speak with my friend who was voicing our disappointment, he told my friend that "she needs help." So, the Atlantic lost a lot of money today by refusing to accommodate our friends and will in the future as well because none of us will ever return.

We had a good meal here. Food had good flavor and outside seating was gorgeous. Really enjoyed ourselves. It's right off the ferry. Noise level was good, vibe was nice. Would love to stop by again.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! The waitress ripped the drink menu out my hand after I told her we were going to try something else.

Wonderful location and the staff is fantastic. The prices though? A bit much. If you want a fancy meal and are good with an average of $100 or more per person, you’ll enjoy it. The food we got was good. The lobster salad and the angry shrimp. In fact the sauce with the shrimp was heavenly. Creamy and spicy.

Fun spot on the water downtown, it offers Beautiful views of the harbor and boaters! We had wonderful salads and relaxed in The sun! Sit outside - it’s worth the view - And location!!

We really wanted to like this place - great location, menu, atmosphere - but the food and service were awful. Both our meals were undercooked, and when we mentioned it to the waiter we received no apology or offer to fix it - he just took the plates, brought them back 90 second later looking exactly as they were, and put them back on the table. He was rude too when we ordered a bottle of wine but it was out of stock, and we asked for a few minutes to choose another. Appetizers and cocktails were also stingy. Overall, prices were way too high for the poor quality.

Really great portions, love the carrot cake! Beautiful spot! Always a great spot to get a night cap before hopping the Chappy ferry.

Food was not good, octopus was undercooked, lobster ravioli was mediocre. Cocktails were awful. Service was terrible. Over priced, many better options in the area.

Food was good not memorable. Shisito peppers had too much cheese. The fries and bacon was good. Lobster salad was decent, too many craisins and walnuts for my taste. The steak was over seasoned.Service was nice and mad up for the average food. The music kept jumping volumes and songs (in the middle of the songs) not sure what was happening. We were there last seating before kitchen closed so maybe that had something to do with it.

Visited The Atlantic twice this summer, once in May and again this past weekend (September). This review reflects both experiences, as they were both poor.Location is superb and on the water with allegedly beautiful views. Unfortunately we were sat out in the back patio in a tent both times so I can’t speak to the views or general atmosphere. The most recent visit I spent my time fighting off mosquitoes and getting bitten up. After both meals it was painfully obvious that the views are saved for the customers who appear more financially suited to those seats.Menu has fairly good variety but prices are *HIGH* even for the vineyard. Quality of food is excellent but….Unfortunately the atmosphere and service is abysmal. In May I was celebrating a milestone birthday. Our first dining experience we were sat in the back patio (passing numerous open tables) and had a dismissive waiter who was much more interested in flirting with and serving a table of local ladies. I was disappointed to have a bumpy start to the birthday weekend but was able to dismiss the behavior. I returned in September at the insistence of a friend, and it was a great disappointment. A front hostess agreed to seat us somewhere specific and had to argue with another hostess/seater, commanding her to bring us somewhere after watching the seater shake her head no and refusing to seat us. Our waiter was rude, abrupt, and was clearly Upset/ impatient with us with lots of huffs, walking away, and eye rolls (we took too long to decide our meals?). At the close of dinner when asking for a small substitution on a dessert item we were told no, you could not add on to the dish (a guest asked for ice cream with a slice of cake) and we would have to order two separate dessert items to accomplish that request. A simple “we can accommodate your request for a small upcharge” or “my apologies, we cannot accept substitutions on desserts” would have sufficed. I do hope the waiter realized we took our time there, overstaying our welcome at the table due to the clear snub with the seating and then the behavior during meal service. The menu prices are exorbitantly high for such agonizingly rude service. While the food is very good, I will never return to this establishment nor would I recommend it. A dining experience is more than just the food.

I've eaten here before in the middle of the heavy summer season, so had to try it again in the middle of September. Food was delicious. The Chilean Sea Bass was melt in your mouth good. The lobster ravioli were delicious. Drinks were excellent. The fried artichokie were ok...little greasy. Service was exceptional.
